The Day we have been waiting for is finally here!!! We are setting the trusses and getting the roof put on this garage!!! We are pretty nervous about setting the trusses and theres only one way to get through this, slowly and carefully! We don't have a crane either, we've got a forklift!

Do you ever think about Lightning striking? That’s the reason I would go inside not because it’s raining. I lived in Florida for 25 years. Construction workers get hit by lightning all the time. I’m glad to see you made progress on your garage.

Yep that's how it's done and when my Dad was 50 he fell off that 2 nd story and broke all his ribs. And he has been a contractor his whole life. It's no joke. This was building a million dollar school. I hope you have good insurance for Brandon your son. Good luck.

I have not seen any lightening rod system during this build, but living where they do, it would be highly recommended. I live at elevation, and we have such a system. Smartest thing we did. We have have multiple near hits. Helps me sleep at night!

Trent & Allie, I have to say that I admire you two so much and the enthusiasm you show in your work ethics. I especially love to see Leo and the progress he is making as I have a granddaughter who was born on November 6, 2021. I see him smile and I can see one to two teeth and my granddaughter, Olivia, has three teeth now. She climbs on everything, and so does Leo. Her parents woke up one morning about a month ago to find her standing in her crib. They were shocked, to say the least. Babies are precious and last a short time before they grow up and enter the next stage of their lives. God bless your whole family. Keep up the good work, and I will follow you for a long time.

Good to see all the trusses up but a pity that rain stopped play as i'm sure that Trent would have preferred to get all the trusses secure and straight, watching Leo smiling and playing is great then his interaction with Joel. it was brilliant, Allie making those cookies and what was Trents reaction? NOT BAD. I think Allie deserves a lot more praise

I was on pins and needles watching you work as the storm was rolling in. You heard thunder. That means there IS lightening. You had a GIANT lightening rod stuck up in the air, especially at your altitude. You should NEVER operate tall construction equipment in a storm. you guys are super lucky you did not attract a lightening strike. What you were doing was inviting it to come your way. And then you left it sticking in the air. NO, put it on the ground.
Other than that, i am so glad to see the trusses FINALLY go up and I also like to see the interaction between Joel and Leo, , brothers. That is so special.

If you have reusable cooling packs or freezer packs put them in a ziplock baggie put it in the back behind the fan and they'll give you a cold air

Great job getting the trusses installed! You found the CG (center of gravity) and used a fantastic team on the tag lines. Now you know that the crane incident could have easily been avoided if the guys knew what they were doing and/or followed proper protocol. Can't wait to see how you square everything up. Please, please, please get out of the weather when you hear thunder. Just because you don't see lightning doesn't mean that you can't be struck by it - no place outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area, and lightning can easily travel 10 to 12 miles from a storm, with some cases documented as far as 60 miles. Those trusses are just wood and steel - they can be replaced, but you cannot.

I love watching how fast the babies growing up and now climbing on things I never had one of those things the kids just climbed over blocks, boxes etc he’s so sweet little boy! Miss my grandsons there 5-7 yrs old now I had them Play with me when they were the stage they grow so fast enjoy it hug them squeeze them play with them kiss them Tomorrow is never promised and they grow up so fast too fast

Joel is getting such great real-life experience and being such a great help! Both of our sons helped us build our home when they were young. After college, our younger son actually built homes for a few years and is now using CAD to create house plans!
So, 30 seconds in and my first thought is 'Leo's a vigorous eater!' Later, watching him and Joel together totally tugged at my heartstrings. With all of that said, the garage/studio/apartment/second structure build is fascinating to watch because it isn't your first time trying the trades, so seeing Trent's and Brandon's and Allie's confidence is such a pleasure. Thanks, as always, for sharing parts of your lives' journeys.
