    Nice video.. one thing that might be worth mentioning is that most zmk default configs don't have the sleep functionality enabled by default.. took me a while to figure that out..

      If you go into the github repository, in the config folder, there is a config file. Just go uncomment the lines and rebuild the firmware to enable oled and rgb underglow. I'd also recommend a much larger battery if you want those features because they drain a ton of power

    • @juyr4558
      @juyr4558  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure actually. Maybe you could try flashing the left side firmware to the right side and vice versa, but the keymaps and layout would get messed up.

    • @PinataOblongata
      @PinataOblongata 2 роки тому

      He actually said in the video that the left side IS the master side. This makes sense because if you're just gaming, likely all you need is the left side.

    perfect, I'm just looking into making a corne wireless build. Can I ask a random question? I wanted to go for kailh LP choc switches just because I like the look and minimal feel, but I understand that the spacings between the keys on normal corne pcbs are for MX keys? Is that right? Do I need to find a PCB with choc spacings? Bit of a noob in DIY mech kb's so thanks!

    • @juyr4558

    Are there any downsides to wireless over wired setups (besides having to charge)?

    • @juyr4558
      @juyr4558  2 роки тому +4

      Latency might be a bit worse, but it's so little that I find it unnoticeable. Sometimes the two halves do unpair from each other due to distance or something, but very rarely and re-pairing only takes about 10 seconds.
      Other than that, I think wireless builds are great and I can't see myself going back to wired builds

    Thanks for this. I've wanted to make a wireless split board, but I've never made one, or any keyboard, so this is a very helpful primer.
    I just have a few questions about the battery.
    1. Are there bigger batteries that can fit on this board in the spot that you put yours or is this size pretty much it? Like, are there batteries retain that the same dimensions but go taller to fit more juice? or even if they went taller would the controller then not be able to fit over it correctly? A week is a decent charge time, but I was curious how much the charge time could be pushed.
    2. where can I get the battery you use? =D

    • @juyr4558
      @juyr4558  2 роки тому +3

      You can use another battery, but that's the only size that'll fit underneath the microcontroller. I use 2500 mAh batteries in mine, but I use a 3d printed case to hide the battery.
