hard rock cafe warner music group dan donegan hip hop head reacts genesis
Land of Confusion is a Genesis cover, btw. You didn't mention it.
Gilead Maerlyn i dont think he knows😃
He doesn't know Genesis, he only reacts to metal like that's the only good music out there.... plus the original video is better but he wouldn't know who the puppets are.
what in the history of this channel would tell you Alex has ever listened to Genesis?
So cool bro, Disturbed has a cover in each one of their records I didn't know this was the one from ten thousand fists, thanks
@@cosmin98684 this is a metal specific channel. If you dont like that concept, you dont have to watch it.
DISTURBED - INSIDE THE FIRE
Like it up to get his attention
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!
Omg that is such a good fucking song bro. He definitely needs to react to that one.
@@Rayray2455 Yea he does
Yea he’s gotta
this & Indestructible
Actually a Genesis cover
Also, “Inside the Fire” is a must
Yes yes yes! Inide the fire is amazing
Get ready to get smashed by the feels train Alex!
Yeah, and that original is great already. Though I definitely like this here a lot, too 😊
I actually didn't know this was a cover. Now I gotta find the original and see if I like it
LunaBianca1805 No one should have the right to dick Phil Collin without his permission 😂
@@morgfarm1 from what I've seen Disturbed, when they do a cover, stay pretty faithful to the original.. only adding their trademark aggression.
Sound of Silence was such a departure sound wise for them.. but damn if it didnt work
The thing about this song that makes it ESPECIALLY powerful is the fact that it's a cover of a Genesis song about the Cold War. This song is at least 30 years old, and it doesn't feel dated AT ALL.. That's honestly kinda terrifying.
Also, you'd never know by looking at him now, but The Guy (Disturb's mascot) actually started as this... fucked-up grin David doodled and made part of the album art for The Sickness when they'd just gotten their start. He's become more than a simple mascot for the band, in my opinion, and now seems to represent the spirit of Disturbed itself and the message a lot of their more recent albums have tried to spread: Fight back against those who would oppress you. Of course, music--like any piece of art--is open to interpretation, and that's just my thoughts on the matter...
Now, let me see those f***in' fists, my fellow Disturbed Ones~!
I also feel The Guy is kind of their own mascot/tribute to Eddy which is iron maiden's mascot and on every album cover in some form
Killer assessment.
He's a symbol of revolting to stand up against the injustice and greed of this world
In the original song it was puppets that ended up having a spin off called DC follies
Right here baby my fists in the air
The Original is by Genesis the Phil Collins era. He sings it.
Its a very good cover.
Become a Patreon of my channel!
That video is also worth a watch
One of the most glorious videos ever made. :D
Yeap. The cover is good but imho the video pales in comparison when taking into account the historical context what with the cold war at its absolute worst back then.
@@PhilipAlexanderHassialis what's even more amazing, the song is still relevant today, even more so, some would say
@@MravacKid right up there with the chicken song video ;)
Ok who else thinks that the disturbed's animated character needs to have its own anime series
Dude that's an amazing idea
Get in contact with Tod McFarlane for that to happen
Yes!!
Pass. Works for music videos, but would be insanely cheesy in a series
His own game man
"Shout 2000" is another good song by Disturbed. It's a Tears for Fears cover.
its a genesis cover
@@williamwallace5177, Land of Confusion is, not Shout 2000
Something to note: Spawn creator Todd Macfarlane drew and animated the video for them.
Ten Thousand Fists will always be Disturbed's best album in my opinion
I agree. Nothing they have released since then has topped it yet, though Indestructible came close 👍
Ten Thousand Fists is where Disturbed finally found their sound. It wasn't as heavy as The Sickness and wasn't as mellow as Believe. And it was their first album with guitar solos and their first album with John Moyer on bass.
And their best song
For me it’s The Sickness but Ten Thousand Fists is second.
I guess I'm just..... I think the 2 albums that preceded ten thousand fists are both better.
If you weren't aware, it's actually a very good cover of Genesis's song. The original is quite good aswell, but I enjoy this version personally more.
Also you should react to Prayer and also Overburdened by Disturbed. They're both so powerful and can put them on repeat.
Overburdened is beast
I like both versions, but I love the music video for the genesis version. It's just so....confusing, lol. It fits the song better, in my opinion.
Disturbed nails every cover, living after midnight that high note was phenomenal
Lol, personally, I remember the original coming out on MTV when MTV still played music. I can honestly say I have a fond spot for the original, but this one is right up there.
What Distirbed did with this Genesis song is amazing. They unleashed all the anger and power that was chained in the original song.
Me as a kid: this is so cool
Me as an adult: literally just cried watching this music video in a reaction video because I get now, I truly understand
I am a Black American and I’m watching my country and this world fall apart because of greed, racism, and a complete disregard for the environment.
I agree. Racism, as well as nationalism, sexism, anti-semitism, etc, is a way for capitalists to divide people all around the world so they fight each other but not the rich. Destruction of environment is a result of capitalist's greed, and unfortunately without overthrowing the system based on greed we cannot save the planet.
@@basokvlad If you think the problem is capitalism you do not live in reality.
@@randymiller3918 what's the problem then, if not capitalism?
@@basokvlad The problem is, not understanding ourselves. The issues is that we are just monkeys that learned to build things and we keep trying to go against our natural behavior. Capitalism(or free trade) is the only way we can exist. Capitalism does not force you to do anything against your will. We are a social animal that values our individuality. So how do we reconcile those two things that seem so different? We must learn to not force our will upon others. We must understand that government is violence. It must only be used in response to violence. As long as we think we can vote to get things we want there will always be more violence.
@@basokvlad
Racism = we are by nature tribal. If you got rid of every race but one we would still fight and separate ourselves.
Nationalism = monkeys separate themselves and fight over territory as well. It is in our nature>
Sexism = not a real issue for western society. Most things many people think are sexism are just how we are evolved. When a female lion goes out and hunts while the male stays back do we call it sexist? That is how they evolved because of different biology. We have our own evolved behavior patterns.
Destruction of environment is a result of our existence. We should work on a solution but we are not going to get rid of gas powered cars just because we change our economic system. That is absurd.
System based on greed. The system is based on our natural behavior. If a squirrel collects more nuts than it needs do you complain that he is greedy? We have evolved to compete with each other for resources. Take away that motivation and we suffer horribly for it.
The original was made in the 80s by Genesis. Not saying it’s any better or worse, it’s just very different. Definitely worth checking out though if you haven’t heard it!
I hate 80s Metal
@@snoopbeerus4091 The original is not metal at all
@@snoopbeerus4091 bruh the original isn't even metal
@@snoopbeerus4091 how did 80's metal hurt you?
@@snoopbeerus4091 have you even heard the original song?
Check out the original version of this by Genesis. Great song with an awesome video
The original video was disturbing, with its puppets, it showed all the fear created by the cold war. We were scared if missiles, nukes, and the war to end all wars. Dusturbd has done an excellent cover, and brought out all the current fears, terrorism and the horror of this age.
Agreed. Plus, this video always felt to me like it was too derivative of Pearl Jam's "Do The Evolution" made by the same animation studio.
A bizarre video if you don't know a lot about 80s politics.
Since you've had so many people tell you that this is a Genesis cover, I'll add some extra info. The video for Genesis - Land of Confusion is all puppets. The puppets were made by British tv show Spitting Image creators Peter Fluck and Roger Law. The puppets were caricatures of famous people. Phil Collins commissioned them to do it, after he saw a caricature puppet, of himself, on their show.
Have you reacted to Starset yet? Because I'm not seeing it. "Monster" or "My Demons" would be a good starting point
Then followed up by Manifest or Bringing it Down
Nah, let him listen to the good stuff.
I love starset monster it's such a good song
This is a pretty good cover of Genisis
Anna 3084 agreed
Great*
Agreed. It's almost like the version that Genesis couldn't muster in the 80's. LOL
Not better, just different version
Pete Tresch I think it portrays message better than the original
Best cover! The original kick ass too 80s style
Speaking of great covers,I like Godsmack's Good Times, Bad Times better :)
Well I've heard that first but it is better than Led Zeppelin's version :D
Anyway Alex should react to that,I'd love some Godsmack :D
Guns N' Roses - Mr. Brownstone
Disturbed makes the best covers and this one is easily my favorite... :)
TheDiscardedFoot They really do make awesome covers. I don’t know any other band that has hit the bullseye on every single cover they’ve done like Disturbed has.
The best ones lie, indestructible, darkness, the night, 10.000 fists, inside the fire, immortalized, asylum...
Fit for a King - When Everything Means Nothing
Falling in Reverse - losing my life
Oceans Ate Alaska - Escapists
No wonder why Alaska doesn't exist anymore 👀
I remember the original version from Phil Collins. Wow! 😄
Same. Phil is always on my playlists
@RoySFord
From Genesis, before Phil Collins went solo.
He sang it while he was still in Genesis.
A couple nuggets for ya Alex, in regard to this song:
1) Genesis originally made this song. So credit goes to Disturbed for an amazing reinvention of the song and to Genesis for putting out a song that, unfortunately, still rings a strong and relevant message to this day. Disturbed has done numerous covers of songs, and they are all amazing.
2) If you loved the sound and musical composition of this song, the entire Ten Thousand Fists album sounds just as awesome as this song. Ten Thousand Fists still remains my favorite Disturbed album.
Another wholesome video Alex. Keep up the good work!
Artist is Todd Mcfarlane he co created Spawn and Venom did a Korn video ad well
Todd is badass. Has a killer toy line of athletes and movie character
Uh, no, he didn't 'co create' Spawn. He's had Spawn in his pocket since he was a kid.
He was on Spiderman before he created Spawn.

@@hankvoight3326 I'm also in the music video as well
Legit was about to comment this
Yes
im asking for it since day one it came out
I loved the song when it came out in 1986 by Genesis, Then I feel Disturbed took it to another level and brought a more heavy edge to it.
I can remember when I first saw this on a BBC show called Spitting Image back in the 80's. Such a solid song by Genesis, and an extremely great cover by Disturbed.
Still waiting for the Sixx: A.M 'Life is Beautiful' reaction. Make it happen dude.
Oh hell yes to this. He'd love talking about the lyrics.
Agreed
Rather he do "This is gonna hurt"
Adding my vote for this. Fuck yeh.
Oh. My. God. I haven’t heard or thought of this song in so long. Thank you for bringing it back to my memory
Disturbed: Another Way to Die. Has the same vibe and message as this one.
2 fun facts about this song for the younger crowd.
1) this song is actually a cover of a song of the same title by Genesis when Phil Collins was lead vocalist.
2) all the artwork for the Ten Thousand Fists album (which this song comes from) and this entire video was hand drawn and director by Todd McFarland (the creator of the comic book antihero SPAWN)
this is one of my favorite covers. its awsome live.
Still want that "whispers in the dark" reaction lol, love u tho❤️
Honestly so many skillet songs, Falling in the Black, Back from the dead, Cyrcus for a Psycho and more
DISTURBED - TEN THOUSAND FISTS
must see =)
this was one of my first experiences of Disturbed and it gave me chills to listen to it again. Don't think I've ever seen the video for it before though, so it was even more relatable.
Next: The light - Disturbed!
Ghost - Kiss the go goat! Its brand new m8!
You should check out the original by Genesis. Actually pretty close musically. Plus the video is really funny.
I remember when I was a kid, I would listen to the entire Ten Thousand Fists record on loop while playing Wind Waker. Smell of the fresh summer air blowing through the window.
This song brought back so many great memories. Great choice!
I subbed man
I loved watching you evolve from a hip-hop guy into a metalhead. You rock man .
This song its a cover from Genesis, Disturbed has one cover in each of their records and this is the one from ten thousand fist, you should react to all the covers, they are all amazing
The cover of Midlife Crisis from Faith No More, is practically the same as the original, can't blame them cause I think that FNM music is really hard to cover.
@@Laurabp4 I really like their cover, they print their own style in a really good way
I literally watched this just over an hour ago
This song has as much meaning today as it did way back when Genesis originally did it
Disturbed had been my favorite back for some time. If you love this late to there first album it kicks you in the teeth...... The Sickness, the 2nd. album Believe.

Alex Listen to the original version land of confusion by genesis
Poroushook0 06 when he reacts to covers, he normally does the originals after
A few things. First, the video was produced by Todd MacFarlane. So if you thought it had a Spawn quality, that's why
Second, as others have pointed out, Land of Confusion was a Genesis song originally. The video for the original has a story behind it as well and involves a puppet of Phil Collins from a British parody show. It's also rediculous and involves a dreaming puppet Ronald Reagan.
Third, The super hero figure in the video (called simply, "the Guy") is also on the album's cover and the featured hero in the Disturbed video "the Vengeful One".
Lastly, you should look up Maximum the Harmone's "What's up People". It is the second openning theme for Death Note, but is a full length metal song with proper video all its own.
Please react to Gone Forever by Three Days Grace!
Keep bringing the Disturbed. They're an amazing band to see live. Also, this was a cover but the message was/is still relevant when they covered it.
Keep rocking out, good sir.

This song was released in 1986 by Genesis off Invisible Touch album. The song was written by the band and lyrics were written by guitarist Mike Rutherford.

This video is more powerful now than ever. Even your reaction sheds a light.
I drew the whole box when "The guy" raised his fist in front of the soldiers. Minute 2:43 draw that picture
The lyrics of this song coupled with the music video brings a tear to my eye because they are so powerful and so true *{::>_
Wow!! Phill Collins sounds great on this cover! 🙌
Relevant song again today. So tired of the people with some power hardly ever using their power and money to do good. The wrong people desire power almost every time.
The fact that this video is animated is a tip of the hat to the original video done by Genesis in the 80's. Genesis did what was considered high tech animation then - claymation, sort of - and made a killer video. Disturbed's version just makes you wanna bang your head and the video brings it a MUCH deeper message. I love both versions!

I grew up hearing the 2nd British invasion of new wave music including prog rock like Genesis or The Pet Shop boys. Still love it now. The music of our childhoods stay with us. However I'm also some one who learned to love metal. Ozzy, Metallica Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Evanescence , disturbed, tool etc. I know the Spitting image puppets and the show of the 1980's. Alex is expending his horizons. That's cool. Looking into history of songs is only going to increase his appreciation of great music. There's so much nostalgia coverage of different era's to discover.
