@@kitchenwindowwildlife You are teaching them dependence. These animals are NOT domesticated. You are taking away their ability to forage on their own. What happens to these animals when you’re not there? Do you think they can just revert back? They cannot. They will begin to starve and look, not for food, but _humans_ that they have learned to trust and feed them. These wild animals _are not your responsibility._ You are not helping or nurturing them; in fact, you have no business conditioning them like this at all. If a mother has died, leaving her offspring without the means to survive, you should call professional wildlife managers in your state. (Local law enforcement will often have a wildlife division who know local species and care about the animal _and_ human safety.) Again, these animals do not belong to you or anyone else. This is conditioning through positive reinforcement to gather in human communities and lose the skills they need to survive, like hunting and foraging and-most of all-avoid human beings. That is what they need. Call wildlife services in your area to help save these animals from further harm.

Put cracked corn on a board. Not on the ground. Gives them worms with the grass and dirt in the kernels too. Put down a piece of old plywood and put corn on it. Also put corn on the concrete. They have a hard time getting crn off the grass and ground.
Why are all the other Deer afraid of you but the baby Deer is fearless?

imagine the amount of people living in this world, spending an obscene amount of time on becoming richer, more influential, more powerful. Have the better car, the better house, the better job, the better paycheck... All in pursuit of what they believe is true happiness and meaningfulness. But at the end of it all, they will realize that they spent their lives chasing something, and they never leaned back and enjoyed the little things that really matters. This right here, is one of those things. Just living, enjoying something lovely, and it brings so much joy and happiness. We never know when we're going to die, so better do our best to spend every day bringing happiness and joy to ourselves and others while we can.

This just proves human intervention is good
It’s not “head butting” when he’s drinking the milk. It’s called “punching”, and you’ll see fawns do this when drinking from their mothers utter(punching the milk sack)as it’s meant to stimulate the flow of milk. You see this with baby goatling kids, lambs, and many other species who feed their young in this manner. Great video, and what a wonderful privilege it is to have this bond .

I want to redesign cities to save them. First by building energy towers within high rise condos like they are in other countries. These condo towers produce so much energy it is actually profitable to house the homeless. The towers have wind tunnels and wind turbines hidden within, water turbines in the rain haversting system, and the entire sides of building are hidden solar panels. There is so much electricity they use incinerator toilets saving the city a crap ton on sewage plants. The excess electricity is put into cars and converted to greed hydrogen fuel to local industry. Making the city as a whole wealthier
Wildlife is saved be use we have less pollution, and contained agriculture from these energy towers. These cities will have wildlife crossing so even city folks can watch the deer safely.
As soon as we reduce the obstacles which is are own prejudices so that these towers can create inclusiveness instead of hunger games, we can stop the desperation that currently destroy the environment. ❤
If you like the idea spread the word. Housing is a Human right. Housing is necessary to restore the environment. Energy towers pay for themselves making mortgages a thing of the past.

@@kitchenwindowwildlife drop the corn in a small bowl of water a day before you expect company. It can sit in the fridge a week or more before it might mold.
The little one is getting all of the good stuff. 🤗 I laughed at the beginning when all of the deer looked at the little one like, "are you sure you want to go up there?" lol They are all so precious. I wish they didn't have to always be on alert and always be at peace.

My wife and I live at canyon lake texas where there are several groups of white tails and axis deer. These deer show up in groups whenever my wife goes out of the house or drive into the driveway. It's so funny to see them surround her waiting impatiently for treats. We also have a racoon and skunk family visit at night. Seen a couple of armadillos and a few foxes come round. All are welcome to eat and drink here but our dogs don't care for the skunks. Our cats on the other hand play with the skunks like family. I am disabled and can't join in on the fun but watching my wifes joy at feeding these creatures is enough to make me happy. Everyone should be able experience this joy. Pease to everyone out there.

I think that the real disabled people are those who are unable to experience such pure and universal feelings. The few lines that you wrote are a beautiful description of a corner of heaven, and you are a part of it.

You are so lucky to have such varied wild animals friends and to actually appreciate them.
My grandmother had a house built in Canyon Lake TX. Her sister & BIL lived next door, there was a lot between them and my grandmother's house was on the other side of the lot. She & others (including myself picked up rocks, bushes, little trees about a foot tall, and weedwacked). She tried to buy the lot from the owner (per my grandma, he said she could buy it for an astronomical price. She basically told him where, when, what, why and told him where to shove it. He later died and my grandma reached out to his family and they sold her the lot for a great & very fair price. After we cleared & cleaned it out, my grandma put a salt lick with a box, she bought corn from the feed store, take a big coffee can, dip the can into the bag of corn, stand out on her driveway and shake the can. Those deer came from all around and she would start handing it out to each deer. She would even scold them for taking too much or taking some other deers' food 😂 But, they would have their babies and hide them on her porch or under her deck, that overlooked the lake. Very beautiful.

Its actually not smart to feed wild animals. You can't do it forever, so generation after generation will go to that place for food and expect it. Might seem lovely but these people are just bored and might think they are doing good but it's not good for wild animals unless they absolutely need it, like it winter in very cold areas with deep snow.
You're both so lucky to have this experience. You're angels for taking care of them. 💖

@@jimj2683 No not really. We are not the only ones feeding, and there is natural food available. We have only been feeding for 11 years. The deer were here when we got here, they will be here when we are gone.

It was the cutest thing then him coming back to have his face wiped cause mom usually licks it off and cleans them and he just layed there to be cleaned off it just kept a smile on my face this was beautiful he got his little tummy all full he will come around for as long as he lives so I heard when u had a deer like this that you have had to raise u can put an orange reflection collar on them and the hunters are not supposed to shoot them they will know that it has been Hans raised and isn't really wild that It's a tame deer Maybe yall can do that ans yall will know its him all the time and If someone breaks the law and shoots him anyway they can lose their hunting license go to jail and pay a fine which i think is okay cause you shouldn't shoot a deer that you can planly see that it's been raised by humans cause it has that collar on

Actually...nope. Ask ur game and fish dept about that. Most states have rules about feeding wildlife. It actually puts them in harms way both digestiveley and getting used to humans. Can end up killing them and that wouldn't make a very good video...

@@kitchenwindowwildlife I think his point is you're making them less skiddish around humans & thus easier for hunters to kill. Also, horse feed is very bad for them, but the corn is fine. They also like oats, apples, carrots, grapes...it's hard to resist giving them treats, especially in seasons where it's hard for them to forage. Providing a salt lick is also a nice thing to do for them.
The fact the little one trust him more then the other grown deers is incredible 😊
It may be in part because their eyesight is so bad. It probably is worse the older they get. I had heard that deer see more like a blob kinda shape rather than a human.

@@DS-nw4eqnot likely since that's mostly just a myth. Not saying it doesn't rarely happen but for the most part it's not true and was mainly circulated by parents to keep their kids from tormenting/risking being bitten by new animal parents. It does happen sometimes but it's only if the smell is considered a threat but since the other deer are all aware of the human and that he is not a threat it shouldn't be an issue.
the big ones learned there is danger and need to be constant on look out... hes small, he trusts everything easily.

You might try coarse ground corn meal. Gives the deer more nutrition from the same amount of corn. Appreciate your big hearts for the deer.
Thank You for watching and your concern for Wildlife. We have been supplemental feeding our local herd for over 11 years now. We feed protein deer nuggets and whole feed corn that has been batch tested as negative, for all of the current mold and fungus concerns. Corn meal would be difficult to be able to efficiently distribute for feeding and the quantity we would have to have on hand would be readily subject to weevils. The whole corn seems to be more recommended by game ranchers and wildlife "experts" as it is thought to have easier digestibility, slightly better nutrition, more fiber and less likely to sour or mold. Most importantly, the deer nuggets and corn are a only a very small percentage of their complete diet as we have planted many areas of our property with various perennial deer plot plants which are available throughout the seasons and we routinely feed apples, pears, carrots, berries and sunflower seeds. This Herd roams a large area beyond our property and forages on a variety of plants. A friend of mine works for the forest service and told me that when they are feeding deer fawns that they only give them the milk when they're young that they need and things that they would eat in the wild so that they will be prepared for the wild. But it is so generous of you and so wonderful of you to take such care of those precious dear and also the Little Fawn. Blessings to you and your wife

My backyard deer LOVE peanut butter. They'll go after that more than anything else. They also get carrots, apples, and even raw potatoes. They love saltine crackers, but that's a treat and they don't get too many.

This is lovely. My family and I also have a family of deer that live with us, that we now feed and have adopted into our family. Daisy, our youngest female and Larbar, our youngest buck, are growing up so fast. Larbar just dropped an antler…too fast.😢 These are wonderful to watch.

You haven’t adopted them; you’ve made them less than what the are and need to be. Your ignorance of the short and long-term consequences of your actions tells me that you do not love _them,_ you love how _you_ feel around them. There are many ways to be cruel to an animal and it has nothing to do with hurting them. _Harm_ is not _hurt._ Many painful things we go through like the extraction of a tooth, dialysis and many other medical procedures are painful, they are attempts to reduce the harm done by cavities, kidney failure or cancer. You don’t know what is best for them at all. You are, in fact, doing one of the most harmful things you can do.

This warms my heart so much! I live on the third floor in an apartment building but my patio faces a small bit of woods. I recently learned having my coffee out there early morning I get blessed to see two beautiful deer grazing along that tree line. I have always loved seeing deer, from the time I was a child.
