The first time I heard the term "obelisk" was when I was playing Guantlet, Legends, I think was the edition. So much nostalgia from my childhood. This one is artistically a master piece. You and Greyhawk Grognard are my absolute favorite DND channels to watch. I'd love to play a game session with both of yall, your terrain and Grognard's DM skills would be an awesome combo for a game. 👍
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. If I could just play dnd all day that would be wonderful. This is a great hobby and a fantastic game! Thanks again for watching!
This has quickly become my favorite terrain channel: it looks easy enough to do it in one setting; your voice and the music are super chill; it's simple and beautiful, and it allows me to easily create compact scenes for encounters. 11/10
Thank you so much! That means the world to me! I really hope I can make a go of UA-cam and keep it going! Thanks for spreading the word! All hail the rotten plank!
This really came to life throughout the video! Good call on adding platforms vs. ladders. It really pushes the sense of verticality IMO. I like the bit about the fox living under one of them too. Overall another solid build!
Man you're killing it! The boulders on this one look better than usual with the extra height and additional cuts you added. Feels much more ancient. Also, nice to hear you're a fellow Virginian👍we have a surprising number of fantastic terrain builders😁 keep up the great work!
Another awesome video! You mentioned you live in Virginia, your builds kinda remind me of the rock formations up in Grayson Highlands. I thought it looked like Lord of the Rings when I first hiked through there. Keep up the good work and I'm already looking forward to your next video!
Happy little mistakes! Yay! Just a shame we dont get to see the fox! Anyway, joking aside, very nice seeing the build come together like this! Keep it up!
@@ravenstead I also think it would be great to see your collection as a whole and how you use it! E.g. how you unify it all. Would be great to see your take on something like a battlemat or tile system and see all your work displayed at once
"Rocky forest terrain, all these hills and rocks with trees and moss" "I live in Virginia" Yeah, that tracks. Shenandoah/Catoctin mountains are perfect RPG terrain.
@@ravenstead Red clay, Blue Ridge mountains, Catoctin greenstone, flowering dogwoods, granite, Potomac...well, usually green or brown depending on how rainy it's been. It's the greatest hits of the East coast all in one package.
Great build! Liked that you mentioned the lighting angles. Never considered that in my terrain. How much black podge do you mix? Enough for the piece or can extra be kept longer?
I mix 50/50 PVA and Mod Podge. As Clay stated below, the mix will last a long time if you keep it sealed. I have mine in a cottage cheese container and it's at least six months old.
I like that suggestion! I debated making it obsidian but then it felt a little 2001 Space Odyssey. Sandstone or marble would be cool. Thanks for the feedback!
Love the verticality in the recent builds. Amazing work as always
Thanks for watching! I don't necessarily want to go bigger just yet but I do like taller!

There are so many that are going to 3D printed terrain that it's nice to watch someone handcraft the items
Thanks for watching! I would love to get a 3D printer but I would just end up using it for greeble.

I actually got upset when there was a build missing the rotten plank :D@@ravenstead
I'm digging all your builds. A lot of really simple, small structures and pieces added together and the sum is always much greater than the parts.
Thanks! I need to get all of the builds together for a picture.
I love the way you build these pieces of terrain.
Thank you for watching! I am always looking for build suggestions. I have a journal of ideas going.
Another great build. Pre Mod Podging is a good idea. I've cussed myself out more than once for leaving tight areas that are hard to get a brush into.
Thanks for watching another! I can be taught something now and then.

Thanks for watching another video! I really appreciate the feedback too! I like to have a little side story in my head while I'm building terrain.

Thanks for watching! This one was a struggle in hiding those seams. Thanks for the feedback!
Your vids are the best part of my week
Thanks! That's high praise! I will try to keep it going!
Liking your aesthetic, another sweet scatter piece.
Thank you for watching! The shelves are starting to fill.
Amazing work. You make it so easy to fallow a build.
Thank you! I'm just having fun and want people to try this great hobby!
Heck yes! I always look forward to your next vid. Your videos are really calming
Thanks! I used to watch Bob Ross on my breaks working as a medic in the ED. I always appreciated the chill that dude had and try to bring it here.
Running a Savage Worlds campaign. This gives me inspiration to use it as a boundary marker for an opposing faction. Thanks!!
That's a great idea! It would be cool to make a bunch of smaller pieces as borderland markers. Maybe I will create a piece featuring a signal fire.
What a pefect picture!
Thank you! It's been a long road learning to take decent pictures and videos. I still have a long way to go!
nice piece. Your stone work is always really well done
Thank you for watching! The stone is my favorite part!

Thank you for watching! I love our highlands here in Virginia, so weathered and ancient.
Happy little mistakes! Yay! Just a shame we dont get to see the fox! Anyway, joking aside, very nice seeing the build come together like this! Keep it up!
Thank you! I just so happen to have a little bag of scale critters. Maybe there is a fox in there! More animals on the next build!
Thanks for this. Great work. Audio & vid good too.
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the feedback!
Another solid build!
I appreciate you watching! Thanks!
Really enjoying the sheer consistency in your content. Would love to see what you do with more variation in colour or environment.
Thank you! I was just looking at the collection and thinking about a different scheme. Time to push my comfort zone a little ehh?
@@ravenstead I also think it would be great to see your collection as a whole and how you use it! E.g. how you unify it all. Would be great to see your take on something like a battlemat or tile system and see all your work displayed at once
I know how they got it up there; Obelix just carried it, and plunked it down where the folks asked. 😉 Nice build. Looks great
Mystery solved! I love it!
Would love to see your take on a rolling Siege tower or some other war type pieces
That's a cool idea! Some kind of orc siege tower, all spikey and covered in hides! Thanks!
"Rocky forest terrain, all these hills and rocks with trees and moss"

I love the color schemes we have here in virginia! One hour down the road and you are in another biome. Minecraft!

Looks good 😊
Thank you very much!
These are just tremendous, how long do they typically take you? I love the aesthetic!
Thank you!! Filming slows things down quite a bit. If I were just building, maybe 3 or 4 hours not counting drying time.
nice stuff!
Thanks for watching!
Great build! Liked that you mentioned the lighting angles. Never considered that in my terrain. How much black podge do you mix? Enough for the piece or can extra be kept longer?
I have modge podge mixed that has stayed good for over 3 months. Just be sure to mix/shake it before each use.

@@claywells3540 Thanks for that info. Gives me more time if I mix too much.
@@ravenstead Thanks for letting me know. While black craft paint is cheap, mod podge is certainly not. I would hate to waste it.
"I don't cut myself, so don't worry bout that!"
Hahaha! I don't want anyone getting nervous. I have this thing about watching people use a chef's knife so...
@@ravenstead It does set the nerves on edge!
The obelisk could be in a different color, it would add to the final result.
