"Boar looks longingly at the entrance to the mine; his friends Wolf and Dolf, warn him of the rotten appearance of the wooden timbers. Boar boasts, "But I'm an expert in such matters below ground, I'll be fine!"
Dolf silently casts Death Ward on his dwarven friend as Wolf readies a torch."
Watch me scratch build an encounter tile for my Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game! I use foam, craft paint, hot glue, and flocking to make this scatter terrain.

I will be providing behind the scenes content, sneak peeks of upcoming builds, patron polls so you can influence the builds, shout outs to all of my heroes, and giveaways of my terrain pieces! There's also a Discord channel where we can chat too!
“Pretty good match up” I’d say it’s an excellent match up and I love the idea of building a whole table’s worth of terrain in small, modular pieces! Amazing as always!
Thank you! I wanted to make something that could stand alone and as a set. I'll need at least four tiles to get the 120' of scale distance i'm wanting.
"And I wasted a nat 20," famous words of all DND players. Awesome work and great humor
Thank you! The Hidden Valley was a huge undertaking but the encounters we have played have been epic! I am working on a few one-shots for this terrain build.
Thank you, brother, for another cool build! I dig your homemade flock and we got that rotten plank back! -Rick, USMC
Thank you! The rotten plank is always there even if you can't see it!
Be proud of that tie between the two tiles, you did a killer job. Thanks, really good video!!!
Thank you! Those match-ups are a bit fiddly!
Looking forward to seeing more of this landscape
I considering putting a creek running through part of the set.
love the visual clearance and simplicity of your videos! finally something a bit more easy on the eye on youtube.
wish you the best
Thank you! It's great to get some technical feedback. I'm editing the next video now!
scale really does make things look epic. That's very cool
It's gonna be a big build!
I absolutely love your builds!!!! You create a story with each piece ❤😊❤
Thank you! I am playing an adventure while I'm building!
Incredible work as always, matches so well
Thank you! I was a little nervous about getting a good match. The next one will be a little easier.
Thats really cool linking these builds like this! Love it!
Thank you! The next piece should be interesting..
Neat build man. Always like watching your videos. Cheers!
Thank you for watching another build! I appreciate your support!
Looks fantastic and matches up really well. I really do love your build style, it’s so effective. Your videos have inspired me to start building again, thank you! :)
Thank you! This is such a great hobby! Good luck with your build!
Another Ravenstead video? Don't *mined* if I do! Nicely done.
Thank you! The next video is this Friday!
Nice work, glad I found this channel.
Thank you! It's great to have you along for the adventure!
I find the way you do rock texture intriguing. To my eye, it looks both like stone and tree bark at the same time. I think you could use that technique to make some neat ancient giant tree terrain, too. :D
That's a great idea! Thank you for watching!
That's so nice! I hope you make loads of these because i think it will turn out really good!
I'm hoping to have a 24"x24" collection!
very good piece, you gave me some idea for a new diorama, Thanks
Thats awesome! Thank you for watching!
Thanks. Awesome work.
Thank you for watching!
You do amazing stuff. Peter Jackson should have hired you.
Thank you! High praise!
Great video as always, I would love to see how you make your medium flocking
Sorry your home made flocking
Thank you! The fine and medium flocking I use is from Woodland Scenics. The mix I make is preserved moss and dark yellow flower flocking. The flower flocking I picked up off of amazon. The moss I get from the big stores, usually in the floral section. I just got a new coffee grinder for the shop so I hope to refine the process a bit. I'm thinking about making my own brand of flocking and selling it on Etsy in my store @RavensteadForge. I'll put together a materials list for the next video.
I'll have to make a UA-cam short for the flocking!
Looks good.
Thankyou! I appreciate you watching!
Really cool. I'm a new Sub. 👍
Thank you! It's so great to have you along for our adventures! The next build will be a continuation of the "Hidden Valley" encounter tiles. I'm hoping to keep up the pace with a new video each week.
Please consider checking out my Patreon page if you get the chance! Once we hit 10 "Hero of Ravenstead" patrons I'm going to start hosting giveaways of the terrain builds.
