Does that year not have the drop down on the window when opening the door? It should if you have a convertible to keep from damaging the seal on the top.
My 1999 323ic e36 convertible top will not go down. The windows keep clicking and the top will never unlock. Almost like when pressing the convertible top switch it thinks the windows still are not down all the way. Any suggestions?
Hi I have just bought a 1996 e36 convertible and the from windows have zero power to them but all the fuses in the engine bay are fine. The precious owner said they used to work but just stopped. Now as a result I can't get the roof to work because the front windows are stuck in the up position. Any ideas?
@@Fill2001 I'm in Australia so have a right hand drive and under our passengers front carpet (drivers in usa) is where the wiring loom and main connectors are. This gets wet and corrodes the wiring thus making it inoperable. Look there I would say.
Is it a regulator issue or a motor issue if my window only rolls down but not up? I can hear the motor trying to roll it back up it won't go, but goes down super smooth.
Steven plz help, my diff fill hole isn't coming off I used a 14mm hex and a wrench but it still won't come loose or with a hammer either I'm gonna order a 14mm Allen key but how can I get more leverage if I'm weak
E36 Fanatics oh ok please upload more I love watching these to help fix up my car and I'm sure others will do so too. Maybe for your brother 323 since you showcase his car alot in your vids maybe show one where you like service the auto transmission, change out tie rods, give tips to get your e36 to 300k miles etc things that can make our cars last forever
Thanks. I think this is my issue as well. Officially the BMW E36 is the worst and dumbest regulator design ever. I fixed a lot of regulators and motors, this tops all of them. So complex, so bad, its an award winning dumb design. For example - on a Mazda CX9 the regulator is a 15 minutes job and cost about 79usd to replace. Everything is easy to get to and everything is simple. Just changed that a few months ago and it was a quick and easy process. E36 ? I put on a new motor thinking the motor is bad, still only moves an inch up and down. Crazy !
Excellent presentation , well explained. Thank you.
Excellent, thank you for adding the links to the parts, really helps!
Thank you so much for this video, helped me so much!!! Make morr
how many rivets need to be drilled out out 3 or 4? also would self locking nuts would work ? Enjoy your videos good information.

What bushing did you use? I just bought a regulator and it has a plastic and metal one your video didn't show which one you used
Are these bushings also on the rear regulators for a sedan?
Hi good day! Will a 318i window regulator and motor fit/work in a 316i series? Is it doable? Hope for your response thank you!
Where can you find the bushing? Not sure my local Canadian Tire got these

Timothy Lowe if it’s not the motor or fuses, then possibly a ground or it’s the window control switches gone bad.
i have exactly the same issue, and I am loosing my mind...

Could be either, check if it's in the glides and if so it's motor

Put the wrench in a galvanized pipe.
