I was at Don Julio this past March in Buenos Aires. It truly was an incredible steak! There is no way to get a reservation, so you have to wait in line. My wife and I were staying a block away in Palermo and we were heading for a late breakfast at 11 am. We pass it by and notice that the line is empty. We ask the hostess and she says that she can get us in at the moment. But the thought of steak in the morning was heavy on my wife. So we decided to go back the next day same time. Waited maybe about an hour before we got a table. In the line we had Empanadas which our baby loved! Super worth it..
I was lucky to have visited Argentina for the first time this February. We waited in line at Don Julio's for the lunch opening, and by the time we got up to the front, we got a ticket for 3:30pm. We walked around for 3 hours and went back. I think we got two steaks, one being the Entrecote. Of course, it was beyond awesome and I would not say the best, but the Top 6 in the world, which makes it sooooooo darn good. Other great steaks can be had in Tuscany, Italy; South of San Sebastian, Spain; and IMO, my best two steak experiences are still within specific ranches inside the US. But I will never forget Don Julios! You have a love for water, Lexie, and the bluest, prettiest, cleanest, etc. Jot down the Futaleufu on the border of Argentina in Patagonia on the Chile side. A River Rafting expedition should be your cards, Lexie, but once you finish up that Ford SUV worldwide trip. I have traveled the world and gone out of my way looking for the best bluest rivers and this is at the top.
The steak looked quite magical! I need to visit Argentina one of these days, but I will need to make sure to bring my appetite as I know I will enjoy the food!
Argentina is good for steak (I was just in Buenos Aires and Bariloche), price is great and flavors are great too. However, I still rank it below true authentic Japanese Kobe/Waygu. BUT for quality to price ratio - definitely Argentina!!
State of Nebraska has the best steak.... Also, country of Japan with A5 Waygu beef... Aregentina has the best compliment for the steak though in Chimichurri!!! I understand why Aregentina greats a lot of favor for their meats as they do a vast variety of meat very well and I'm sure its absoultely delicious, but I'm not quite sure if it is the "best"...
aren't they destroying the local forest to farm cattle in South America .... its sad 😞because U.S is the second largest buyer in beef from that continent...wonder who's first?
Thats why its called Kobe Beef or Wagyu Beef.. Because its Argentina ;) yeah ;) But its okay, Argentina as also quality beef as well as Brazil - and Argentina really really needs a lot of tourists to help them out of their situation. So good for you to promote them
For the price of a Don Julio steak, I can pay 3 nights at my airbnb in Palermo! 😂 Cerro5 Parilla fed me the greatest cut of meat (and fries) in my life and I RARELY consume meat.... at only $18 ($9 blue rate)! After my 1st bite I was mad that I got the smaller piece!
Always wanted to visit South America but concerned about crime. Heard Argentina is getting better tho? Looks awesome thx 🐐 travel vlogger Lexie & 🐐 editor Lionel 🙏🍽🏆⚽️ 🇦🇷
Actually got back from BA in April and absolutely loved it. Read about the crime before going, and in actuality my wife and I felt completely safe the entire week. Really love the people and culture. Just remember to go any time but their Summer!
if you don’t, the steak is coming on the plane instead. let’s not pretend like your entire wardrobe hasn’t come to your house on huge container ships spewing out junk into our atmosphere 100 times worse than any plane journey. give ur head a wobble shun
Exactly what I thought and it makes me so sad to witness in the comments how much this is hyped and celebrated. What have we become. I hope at some point the audience, but especially Lexie look back on this video and realize the craziness and insanity to step into an airplane and eat a dead animal. So disconnected and ignorant
@@julegolla8149 shut up jule I bet you buy from supermarkets and corporations that import their products from the other side of the globe. youre just as much a contributor as them
Here's the corrected version: "Excuse me, it is not better than picanha. No ways, hermanos, this is just Google algorithms... lol. But it's awesome!!"😊
I like your videos but the title is not it... With the state of our planet traveling 5000 miles for a steak is not a flex or something to be proud of...
Question: given that you don t speak other languages than english, i am surprised you are alle to go to rural Argentina and claim speaking with locals. Or is it not ? Or do you have anarmy of interpretors??
am shure its good its just funny to me how people are fine and comfterbull arround mutalated animal parts but would freak out if it was human parts while in essence it comes down to the same thing. i gues animal lives arent worth the same as human lives for most people, btw that animal fat clogs youre artiries so id be carefull with it,dont wanna be a downer but someone has to say it. its youre choice. you say they eat allot of meat so i did a quick internet search and the avarage max age is about 74 and the avarage high age is 64-68 which isnt that high and am starting to get why,all the excess meat is not good for them over decades it exposes the body to a fuw serious diseases that cause earlier death, there are for shure other causes but this is one of them. i do appreciate the overall fun of the video though ^^ its a nice culture and nice people.

Have a great weekend everyone!
For great seafood make your way to Mar del Plata. When we were there we literally had seafood caught and served the same day.
You are always a step or 2 ahead of the game

Travelling by plane across the world to eat a steak that is a costly trip to the environment. 🤐

You are not saying BUENOS AIRES correctly
Argentina doesnt have money
The best thing you can do in times of climate change is to travel 5.000 miles by plane just to eat a piece of meat 👏

I don't think this was worth a whole episode. Somebody's running out of material..
Incredibly cruel to the precious cattle. Unnecessary evil. You should chase plant based foods. Not corpses.
And she eats meat? OMG! What a woman.
am shure its good its just funny to me how people are fine and comfterbull arround mutalated animal parts but would freak out if it was human parts while in essence it comes down to the same thing.
