How about Early Gold, which is a Russian pear? We had it at the nursery last summer, and they produced lots of pears while still in the pot, bright yellow when they began falling off the tree. It was similar in shape to an asian pear, somewhat small, but a lot hardier

It could be 20th century. I am in Puyallup and harvested some today. I really did not like them when I was living in Japan. Hosui and Kosui are the popular ones there. However, I started to like 20th century now. Homegrown ones are the best… Can’t wait to taste Hosui from my tree.
By the way, thanks for posting harvesting videos. I watch your videos and check when to harvest my fruits. Hopefully, I can graft trees successfully and buy some scions from you.

The Asian pear could be Shinseiki or 20th century. Both mine are yellow skinned, non russet and smaller and seem to be starting to ripen now. Do you have either one of those to do pair to?

Can you recommend a variety that stores well? We love pears but one can only can and dry so many...

I have many storage pears that are currently in the testing phase so none that I can recommend from personal experience but kirhizka winter and highland seem promising
For Asian pears, Korean giant is the best I have so far.
