This film brings back priceless memories, 2014 was my first Heirloom Expo. I came in from Wyoming, this event along with the SantaRosa Sebastopol area was life changing. I met so many like minded people, and the speakers were the best, the food was great, the exhibition hall was my favorite. I went 6 yrs in a row, this was the high light of my year. This event is very sorely missed, all thanks to Covid and all the garbage that came with it. I have lots of pictures on my I pad, and on film, will this epic event happen again? In today’s world I have my doubts, but alway hope.
Thank you for showing all the different entries. And thank you for slowing down after a while - at first, I was getting dizzy because the camera was moving so fast, but then you slowed down so we could see the names of the different squash, which was most helpful.
sometimes i just like to come back from time to time to watch this video, i dont know why but it gives me a special feeling, i was so into squash for some reason when i was a kid yet i still never ate one
4:37 looks like a crossbreed between a pumpkin and gourd. I know it looks like that because i planted both and i geues the bees or wind must have cross-pollinated them.
So awesome. I didn't realize there are that many varieties. We love different kinds but I think a favorite is the Butternut. Thanks for sharing this. I love to decorate with some of these in the Fall.
Hi we're from the philippines and when i went to the supermarket i found pumpkins local to your country america but they're important for me but they're so cool i even got the gladiator and the field trip
Musquee de Marol looks really unique, but it's one of the few I can't find elsewhere. Awesome vid for someone looking at varieties for next year! Thanks.
How do they ever decide which is 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place? They all look like winners to me! I love squash time. When it’s cold in the morning I turn the oven on and pop a squash in. Heats the house and I get to eat!
oh, wow, thank you for posting this video, I was not aware that the squash family was such a diversified species. Is there a place that sells the seeds for all of these different types by chance? Would love the opportunity to be able to see if one could grow them! Wonderful!
loved the video. I have a type of beautiful squash growing wild in my back yard. I have no idea what type they are. I don't even know or remember who planted the seeds but the last couple of years is growing all over my back yard with tons of blossoms. I saw your entire video to see if I a a similar squash and finally at the end I saw the green stripped cushaw that looked similar to what I might have. do you have a email, I wish I could send you pictures of the squash I have. I am just trying to find the type of squash I have. thanks.
Wait! Three hundred varieties, and no "Patty pan"? Did I blink and miss them? They are similar to the "scallop", yet much brighter yellow, a bit larger, more smooth at top and bottom surface, and the scallops on the ends more defined. They look more like a flying saucer. Great video, but did I miss them?
Seeing such a huge selection of fruit there, have they all been DNA tested to see how many are actually the same fruit with just a different name give because of the place they grow? As a grower myself I have often wondered this concerning the plant world as a whole.
I can't believe my eyes that there are that many kinds of squashes. There is even an expo😲. Looks like squash heaven...... I love it...

My only issue with the video was how fast you were moving to read the names of the squash.
