Just bought the M850 x-drive 3 months ago. Mine is in white and after watching your video, I must agree about it's much throatier sound and the most comfortable car I ever had, Mine is only a 2 door. Only drawback is the back seat is really for kids, not adults. WHAT A CAR!

The luxury of time means we can look back in hindsight from 2019 to 2024 and have owners of both models give their own personal experiences. While each owner's experience and opinion is subjective it provides a good opportunity to hear the pros and cons of each model so that each individual prospective owner or current owner can make their own informed decisions on these vehicles. We are all aware of the heavy depreciation on both models here in the US but I would love to hear more insight from owners about some of the maintenance and reliability issues such as low coolant warnings, leaking turbo coolant lines, transmission shuttering and missed gear shifts, m850i poor struts, premature tire wear and alignment issues on both models, premature brake pad wear, and a few models that seems had rear camera issues, and the high pressure fuel pump manufacturing defect which could leak I understand that a few of these issues have been addressed through technical service bulletins, and recalls. The BMW V8 have had their fair share of reliability issues over the years, and it seems BMW Loyalists have mostly supported the 6 cylinder performance models particularly the M3 and M4. Any current 2019 and newer M8, and M850i owners would love to hear your thoughts on maintenance and reliability experiences.

Started off shitting on the M850i ended the video with absolutely loving it 🔥
Most reviews I've seen of the M8 always say to save €40k and get the M850i. They say it's more comfortable, economical and daily usable. The M8 is confused, harsh to drive and too big and heavy to be a sports car. Their words not mine.

Great head2head review, it would be cool if you did some affordable cars from different brands like ; Golf R vs Focus RS, Polo/Golf GTI vs Fiesta/Focus ST etc .
We are all aware of the heavy depreciation on both models here in the US but I would love to hear more insight from owners about some of the maintenance and reliability issues such as low coolant warnings, leaking turbo coolant lines, transmission shuttering and missed gear shifts, m850i poor struts, premature tire wear and alignment issues on both models, premature brake pad wear, and a few models that seems had rear camera issues, and the high pressure fuel pump manufacturing defect which could leak
I understand that a few of these issues have been addressed through technical service bulletins, and recalls.
M850i gran coupe is a good overall package with comfort, tech, practicality but when it comes to the M8 competition gran coupe, the M8 is just a Powerhouse, and it says that when we Rev it that it's only made for the Tracks BABY! 🏁🏎💪
No heavy Grand Touring car is a track car whether its an M8 or not. lol

The M8 disappeared
Thank you for another great video. Similarly, the M550i also sounds much better - IMHO - than the M5. Same engines, I assume. Driven both at Zandvoort. Really impressive cars.
Unless the I Love Men green M8's interior speakers are on, it sounds great on the inside.
Love love
Both are incredibly fast! Only difference is 💲💲💲
Alpina b8!!!
in austraila the m8 is twice as much as an m850i, its not worth 2x as much for the power m850i for sure
in my dream... in my country, Government takes 4 car tax for the 1 car. So i take 1 car for me, 3 cars for the government. This car costs almost $800 K
Would a B8 be a happy medium? 😎
Driving and talking at 230 km/h on the wet like it's on sunny dry day. Those cars are so stable and easy to drive.
German engineering >>>
I would get the alpina B8 it's the middle ground betwin the M850 and the M8 and no speed limiter for the autobahn
👍 yes please
i love the green
M850i❤
Can't wait for M10 and M1020i
i will never buy those type of cars i think, but a 'comparison' is always cool to see
I like both exhaust notes S63 sounds more motorsport and N63 sounds like a good german V8
