- Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver fans will undoubtedly be familiar with the guitar that Slash named Jessica. Jessica has been Slash's main stage guitar since 1988. The original Jessica was a factory second and one of two Les Paul guitars that Gibson sent to Slash in the late 80s. Now Gibson is proud to introduce a new model based on Slash's old favourite!

We all spent some time of our lives staring at that guitar . Dreaming about really fucking cool things.
Even looks like a factory re-ject
Take my money!!!!
This is literally one of the best sounding tones I’ve ever heard from a les Paul. Whatever amp he’s running through and how he has it dialed in is SICK🔥🔥🔥
Wow that’s a classic guitar, sounds amazing🤘
Love it....
Iconic guitar - created so many of his iconic tones on the Illusions tour.
His one looked a little more faded vs this polished look? Maybe wear and tear on the road
Started out a cherry sunburst before he had it refinished
Nice! Thanks for the review. I wonder why there are three pieces of maple on top. Is that for the sound? Thanks.
Hi There! The three piece top is a feature on Slash's original Jessica Les Paul. Hope this clears up any confusion
Honestly I don’t look at the reissue and immediately think of Jessica or Slash. Said guitar was originally Cherry sunburst with the pic guard.
Is this a part of the line up or is it limited edition?
So glad they hand wound the pickups to work with the orange drop capacitors. That's the sort of attention to detail that sets gibson apart 😊
How difference does the bumblebee capacitor make? Is it the one you got?
😂
When's the Epiphone version coming out ?
세계 모든 사람들이 궁금한 점.
Sounds amazing wich amp and cab he is he using in the demo
Two-Rock Classic Reverb Signature with a matching 2x12 cab!
@@PeachGuitars is that the amp's gain? Or an OD? Thanks!
Can I get it in a chibson yet ?
The fact that Gibson is making reissue of 1987 Les Paul seconds seems insane. You might as well buy a real one, for about the same price.
It's not a reissue. Gibson just took the existing USA Slash model, slapped an ugly top on it, and called it a day. Oh... and charged the same price as the flame top version...
I had a November burst for a while, it at least had an excellent top and a unique color. I love a honey burst plain top, but why not just get a plain too honey burst and get some SD slash pups? I prefer a two piece top. If this was some kind of CS with Murphy lab aging, that would at least be a bit more interesting and unique.
You’re assuming that customers will use logic!
@@jcallseven good point, I try to, as a matter of course, assume most people don’t use logic ha.
@@slashtrio I’m compelled by my memories of watching the VHS live in Tokyo 1000 times the 90s. I want this guitar
When did Gibson start using a cutting board top???😂
I still feel they can’t get this one right. His was more cherry sunburst. Unless this is one of the two, but from the ones I remember from the Use your illusion tour. It was more red.
It was a cherry sunburst. He had it refinished. Not sure why he didn’t stick with the cherry look. I prefer it myself
Im confused…i recently (summer of 2023) bought a brand new Gibson Les Paul standard 60s, Unburst finish (looks like a lightly flamed honey burst). My 60s LP standard 2023 (brand new purchase) also has no weight relief (8.5 lbs , got lucky lol) but it came with the pickguard installed from factory (wouslnt have to drill your $4000 guitar if liked a guard lol). Also rather then this 3 piece looking top, the 60s Lp standard has a AA-figured top , also differences are grover tuners stock & obvs a 60s slimmer neck (i prefer that profile as my gibson SG std. of 20 yrsalso has 60s neck). Only thing i liked better about the 50s or slash models were the pickups…i like the Alnico 2’s vs the stock 61’ burstbuckers my LP comes with.
That being said, i ordered the Seymour Duncan Slash 2.0 Alnico II pro set of pups & have them installed in my LP (all these LPs have same orange drop caps & 50s style wiring). So now that my les paul 60s standard unburst look better then the Victoria Slash model (at least to me, i prefer pickguard and chrome/nickle covers on pups), and now that they ive upgraded my pups to what i guess slash actually has in his axes..the Seymour Duncan Slash 2.0’s alinco 2 pros. Jw am i crazy for thinking if i wanted the Slash sound, my LP vs this video LP could get rhe same tones or if mine are more accurate? Also i think my Unburst finish looks much nicer then no pickguard & seeing a 3 piece top.
Then dummy than smart then dummy than smart then dummy than smart
Five thousand dollar factory second 😅
You're just making up prices. Literally making things up.
@@jordanpratt3821 $4935 Canadian Dollars plus shipping.
$3199.
Factory seconds are usually like a scratch or chipped
Bellezza rara
I would rather have the appetite burst or november burst with a killer flame 2 piece top than this any day this version should have been cheaper as it has the 3 piece top so thats gotta be a few hundred cheaper at least
I went to get this guitar about a week ago and decided to get the Victoria instead. The gold finish is amazing.
Hand wound...on a machine...
Hey man... some machines have hands. Ever see Terminator?
@@reverb508 hahaha...point taken.
😀😀😀
@@reverb508 machines need love too!
How can they call themselves a lifestyle brand? I’m still holding out for the murphy lab top hat. Amateur’s.
Slash’s favorite Les Paul wasn’t even a Gibson, it was made by Kris Derrig.
Thanks for the info buddy. Thank god this isn’t the guitar they’re demoing…
He retired the kris derrig guitars in 88 and had two guitars sent to him from gibson to replace them, jessica is this version. It jas nothing to do with the derrig knock off's.
It was his first, not sure about favourite. Is the appetite burst based off the Derrig?
And that means they can't make this guitar???
Why does every Gibson guitar demo have to be done tthrough a Messa.
Try it with an Amp Slash actually used .
Gibson owns mesa boogie. That might have something to do with it.
Hi there! This demo was recorded with a Two-Rock Classic Reverb Signature
Magnatone amp probably hard to get I guess use a marshal
The mesa is not hooked up. Look again.
Nice playing, but for the price, you might as well just buy an original 87 Standard.
Wrong gibson script logo, wrong binding at the cutaway. This is essentially a core standard les paul with a three piece top, and a hefty price tag, even though 3 pieces are cheaper to manufacture than 2. Not worth it imo
Why are we acting like this is a new model? This is literally the same Slash model that Gibson's been pumping out since 2020, just with a different finish and a deliberately cheap top.
Different neck profile. That makes a huge difference. At least to me cuz I’ve got big hands
@@danielbarza8600 where did you get your info from, because the neck profile for Jessica and the neck profile for the Appetite Burst on the Gibson site are both listed as “50’s Vintage”. As far as I can tell, the specs are identical to the existing USA Slash model save for the top.
@reverb508 I just saw that. It's just in the reviews I've seen, people have been surprised at how thick the neck is as compared to the November or Appetite burst. I know that within 50s necks there are still differences like 57 vs 58 vs 59. I'd love to know if the necks are actually identical or if the Jessica is literally a copy of an 87 standard which is different from the others
@@danielbarza8600 You've seen this new model compared directly to the existing Slash models? If so, where? I'm not convinced until I see neck depth measurements. Until then, I'm running on the assumption that this is just the Slash model in a different finish.
I just bought the November burst LP, went to Gibson Garage in Nashville and tried them all, 50’s, 60’s, classic until the salesman brought the November LP and although it felt like a slightly thicker neck than the 50’s I absolutely loved the feel of the neck and the guitar, mind you I’ve been playing with a 2022 LP Classic Dr the last 2 years with the smaller neck.
I absolutely love my guitar! To each its own!! 🙌🏻
No thanks on the Gibson I'm staying with the great Epiphone
😂😅😆
@@danielbarza8600 hear I say it again I'm staying with the legendary Epiphone...no one wants Gibson anymore
Man you guys really have been successfully gas lit.
@@user-qn1tw4nk1esure thing Karen!! 😂😂😂
@@svgitana2499 says the guy who plays Gibson a brand no one wants anymore
Worse maple top ever😂
Almost like it’s the point…
In my mind, the faded not too bright colours are EXACTLY what I’m looking for. Jimmy Pages number 1 and 2 were also pretty subtle. Some people prefer that. Like Slash and Jimmy Page
That’s probably why the two identical Jessica 1 and 2( yes he has 2 identical. Jessica 1 has the cigarette burn) were Factory Seconds. They thought it was sh!d
Sounds like crap.
I’m guessing there wasn’t a Marshall near by?
@@phishphan5732 Welcome to the 'play authentic' world 😉
F*king joke this. Gibson really are taking the piss.
Great Sound but ugly looking 3 parts Maple top! If that wasn't a "Slash signature", I'm asking you truly: Who would buy such an ugly guitar? No one! Commercial stuff! Look for your own choice sounding and great looking "Gibson Les Paul Standard" ! But don't but this ugly one.
That guitar isn't part of history. It's a replica of the original. Gibson milking it's customers. I wouldn't buy one. Japanese Tokai LS100Q is my ' go to '.
Thanks for stating the obvious, almost as if Gibson is a business and the only way to make a business succeed is to uh… make their customers happy.
They'll sell. You buy what you like. No point in crying over things.
Thanks, Captain Obvious. Were you worried people might think Peach got hold of Slash's actual original guitar. 😂
Tokai guitars are monsters ! Crazy value.
The pickups are not hand wound they are machine wound . Gibson does not do habd wound and never have . Not even vintage PAfs were hand wound
There is nothing done to Gibson pickups to make them work with orange drop caps.
Stop lying about the specs .
Another pseudo "Slash history model" without the original equipment (Seymour Duncun APH1) and a different finish... Nice try, does not catch me as a Slash fan. It´s a nice guitar without question, but it is not what it pretends to be. But thanks for the video!
What it pretends to be? A lot of people hating because the price is out of reach. This is the third signature model I have. I buy them to add variety and each of them are unique and fun to play, a new toy if you will. My main squeeze is my 1961 National Val-Pro 82.
