I failed my last semester as a civil engineer undergrad at UH and it has been the toughest month of my life. Brian, watching this video has inspired to keep going. Enjoy the big city, new life, and all of the blessings/stresses that come along with it! Love the content and best wishes on this new journey.
@@brianruizy I'm in the process of changing careers into development (from another IT adjacent track), so anything you can share about what interviews and such are like would be great!

@@brianruizy I was there for 2 months, definitely got a good feel for it. Back in Houston now but I might be back next year again during the summer! Would love to meet up if you're still there
Hey Brian, congratulations on your senior engineer role. Could you make a video with resources of what you'd learn to land a full-time role from 0 again. (Looking back now that you have all the experience).
Great video, but I've gotta admit I'm saddened. When I found your channel it was refreshing because it seemed most software engineer vloggers, or a lot of ditl vloggers all lived in New York, and you live in Texas, Houston especially. It was great to see someone rep the hometown. I will agree that Houston is not a city that lends itself to content creation. It's spread far, car centric, and congested. New York is walkable with tons history, and lots of other creators to collaborate with. You're young and should live life to the fullest, and I wish you the best of luck. I look forward to the NYC vlogs but will miss the Houston ones.
New York at Christmas must be very beautiful! I live in another country, so I only saw it in movies lol I'm happy to follow you and see your evolution, Brian!
Welcome to the northeast Brian!!! I have a place in NYC myself I only spend about a month or two between there and my main home here in Nashville. It will take some adjusting for you guys with space. But when I'm in town I enjoy the food the most. Thanks for the update and always enjoy your content. 🔥👍🏾☺️
@ I stay at the Aman Residences It is like three blocks from Central Park. Its a nice area and around good food plus things to do. I'm normally in town from March to June then Back here to Nashville. Christmas time in the city is amazing!! Hope you guys enjoy it!! 👍🏾
Love this! This is a beautiful video. Hope you’re settling in well. I’m also leaving Houston for NYC in a few weeks. I’m certainly not looking forward to the massive increase in living expenses lol 😮💨😩
Brian, your software engineer lifestyle videos are awesome! As a video editor, I see massive potential to transform your content. I can help craft more cinematic visuals, create smoother storytelling transitions, and elevate your NYC tech lifestyle narrative. Let's take your UA-cam channel to the next level with professional editing that captures the real essence of a software engineer's journey! 💻🎥🗽
Thanks! I recently watched your video “I bought a house as a 23-year-old”. I really liked it! I also like that New York feels more like a community with other creators here 😊
I totally agree NYC is amazing but there is nothing more freedom than living in Tx. Even the wether is 11 month perfect while in NYC it's like 4-6 months per year. Anyway enjoy your time there and don't forget to keep visiting Tx when you fell like it ^^

How hard would you consider civil engineering to be in terms of math, from someone who’s aspiring to major in civil engineering.
Hey .. honestly, I wasn’t the best in classrooms either, but with persistence I’m sure you can achieve your goals!
I'm really excited for your NYC content. By the way, nice editing bro. I really liked it, minimal and classic. And love the intro.
