Interesting discussion on paint correction. My ‘65 B roadster is ready for some attention 39 years after its last re-spray. Same color as yours. Coincidentally I bought my B from my Granddad as well. That was in 1977. Regarding paint correction and ceramic, I just had my nearly new Chevy Silverado go through the process. Your dad’s cost is just about right. The truck looks fantastic. It is fun to hear the exhaust note on your B as it is exactly like mine. So distinctive. So right. I think you made the right call on the paint. Your car looks great for now, and will look even better after it is re-sprayed at some point.
Hi John. Thanks for your comment. Yes you can spend a lot of time, effort on money on these things, but it's the first thing you see when you look at the car so it's nice to have these things in order. The B has such a distinctive sound and I'm glad i changed the exhaust for the Maniflow single box system. Not too loud, and a great tone!
@@colinranson1617 I can’t recall the part number but I rang them and they were very helpful. I bought a Stage 2 LCB stainless manifold, and a single box exhaust system in mild steel (sounds less tinny than stainless I think). Their website is pretty comprehensive too…
OK ... OCD. NEVER USE A HEAT GUN ! Hair Dryer, yes, heat gun? no, no , no. As to OCD and criticisms,/observations (by the unqualified).. I pity them their acceptance of mediocrity. . I am reminded of a comment some time ago from a long time friend as I was messing about with my 64 B (sold 2 years ago and now I have a 63.. hoping to find a 62) " I have never heard you say it's good enough." And you won't. And from another friend today as I was helping him with the engine overhaul and complete body off restoration of his round arch Midget... "you don't compromise, do you? " . NO ! Yup, that's me. and proud of it. There is the right way and every other way. Carry on , be exceptional or be nothing exceptional. jjhildrethstudios
Yes I’ll be honest I was a bit hesitant about it so I kept my distance and don’t think I got any real temperature into her. I’m not too keen on using my car for experimental treatment ha. And as for OCD, there’s a lot to be said for organisation, diligence and for chasing perfection. But I guess we’re all built differently… Cheers for the feedback 😊
Enjoyed watching that thank-you. Honest and straight talking.

Lovely exhaust note.
It’s a Maniflow one silencer system. Best thing I’ve done to it 👌🏼
@@CharltonsClassics do you have the make and part number by chance? Thanks

I'll be contemplating your paint dilemma.
