Hydrogen is practically harmless by itself, more safe than propane... But for every two parts hydrogen there is one part oxygen in there so if the flame makes it inside it will explode, the only way to make it safe would be to add some type of flashback arrestor.

I have to agree. There's no outlet for the HHO/oxygen mixture to escape through a butane tube which descends to the bottom of the liquid . HHO is released and expelled naturally above the liquid as an airborne gas as where butane is pressurized and forced through the bottom of a straw as a liquid. It's not even possible for hydrogen to flow through a straw that's submerged under liquid. Also, hydrogen flames aren't that visible to the naked eye because of how hot it burns. Now, this will work if the straw is able to be trimmed to where it's inlet is above the liquid thus allowing the hho/oxygen mixture to escape. HHO goes up, not down then up. Airborne hho gasses are lighter than water, not heavier lol.
I'm gonna make this, following the process. Then I'll make it again using gorilla glue because it expands when drying, making a much better seal. I've modified Bic lighters by adding refill values, but they always explode under pressure because regular superglue couldn't hold strong enough, but I've had luck with gorilla glue expanding into the gaps and filling in more surfaces area for better hold and strength. I've tried superglue, but not with baking soda, I didn't know that trick at the time. Might be better than gorilla glue. I'll find out soon The idea of adding in some safety against the flame entering the tank is a good idea too

Good one. No pochti vsye vashi ideiki dovolno horoshiye. Spasibo shto podelilis vashimi vizobreteniyami. I personally like the one with 56 bottle hacks.
Should only fill 1/2 way with liquid. It would take 2x as long for it to generate the same amount of hydrogen. But you would be able to store about 10x more hydrogen than you can with this setup. That way it would be able to burn long enough to actually light something meaningful on fire. And no flashback or over pressurizing isn't an issue. These lighter will already expel excess pressure before its enough to be a danger. So even if he held the battery on it for 10 mins you would just have tiny amounts of hydrogen leaking out with no flame to light it. It also can't flashback b/c there will always be more pressure internally than there is externally. The only reason flashback is ever an issue is when the pressure outside the fuel container could exceed internal pressure. Like in an oxy acetylene torch setup where a specific regulator failure could allow the 2000 lbs of pressure from the oxygen side to push back into the 200 lbs of the acetylene side. This is a serious concern for acetylene b/c acetylene can explode under its own pressure. Hydrogen on the other hand can NOT explode under its own pressure. So even if you managed to push enough pressure to force the hydrogen back into the lighter it still couldn't explode. EVEN IF!!! you managed to somehow light the hydrogen inside the lighter and it was pressurized to the max amount it could be before the lighter started leaking all you would get is a tiny little flash flame and that's it. Its over. Unlike the situation you would have if the propane or butane in a lighter like that were to ignite. It would flash boil off adding more and more fuel to the fire for several seconds. If this were to happen in your hand and you just let it burn, didn't even try putting it out. You would have only minor burns at worst. No flesh melting off the bones or anything like that. You might also lite some clothing on fire which again is only serious if you do NOTHING to put it out. The flash of fire you would get from hydrogen wouldn't be sustained long enough to light a paper tissue on fire. It is WAY WAY WAY safer. Because you are only producing fuel as you need it instead of storing up the fuel for the entire lifetime of the device in it which could go up in flames all at once.
