It will be so satisfying to see the Turbo Z take her first road trip after you get it all back together. Hopefully you can find someone soon to do the fab work so you can get the sub frame mounted in place permanently. Keep the videos coming and keep up the good work. It will be worth all the work in the end.

Nice video. Did you consider, during all this, upgrading to the later 89-up k-frame?

Thanks for watching! A couple people had mentioned that was an option, but I just chose to keep it all original. I don’t plan on hopping the car up, I’m just keeping it as OEM as possible.

Yea the one on mine is scary, where the lower controla arm is connected on both sides it is rusted through, somehow she still drives on the road but i really need to replace it. Think you can buy em new, but might find one of a junkyard car.

They were certainly not a great design. From what I’ve been told you’ve got to get them from a junkyard…give Steven Seale at Turbododgeparts.com a call - he’s helped me out by getting me this K frame as well as a ton of other unobtainable parts. Tell him I sent you!

I feel your pain...had to do this exercise on my Shelby Z and my GLH. The GLH's rear tranny dampener mount busted off, so had to weld a new one on. The guy I purchased my 86 Turbo Z from upgraded to the later 89 setup. Looks like a nice 71-72 Plymouth Satellite in the other bay?? One of my favorite B-body shapes. Good luck in your search for a fabricator. I thought the control arms were stamped steel...now you got me wondering.

It hasn’t been the most fun part of the project, that’s for sure! The OEM style replacement control arms I got are stamped steel, I wonder if it had some kind of aftermarket ones on it. They were super thick comparatively. You have a great eye, it’s a ‘73 Satellite. Video on it will be up next week!
