    Quite grand, seeing the Shelby finally as a roller. Can't wait to see it on the road 🛣️

      It's worth it. So suspenseful waiting to see what else could be wrong with that thing. 😅

    Man I miss this car! Bought an '86 C/S in 1991 as an 18 yr old, wish I'd known then what a rarity it was even at the time. Red, black leather with the higher end power seats (incl the bulb on the side, lol) 5 spd with the digital dash, T-tops and black louvers. Put 15" Thumpers (remember those?) in a ported box in the back, took everything to keep the spoiler from rattling, ha! Later had another '86 Turbo Z and a '91 Shelby, also with the digital dash. These were so much fun and easy to drive, raced everything that came my way! Kudos on your build!

      Heck yeah!! Thanks man! It’s been a fun build for sure. Ready for it to be finished! These old cars are so cool. Appreciate you watching!

    Was looking up some 2nd Gen Ram stuff and found your channel. Just happened to look up and see the Shelby in the back ground. Think my heart skipped a beat. Back in late 80's, early 90's my dad got a hold of one of these...and still has it. That was THE fastest car I had ever driven. Would build so much pressure, it would pop the hose off the intake manifold from all the boosted pressure. That little car was truly a blast to drive. Well, until the intake hose blew off again. He's got it sitting at a shop over in Ft. Worth somewhere. I can hardly wait to watch the rest of these vids and see yours come to life. Man that Shelby would just laugh at the old Fox body 5.0's. Very very under rated sleeper. Super excited for you, sir!

      That’s awesome dude!! Thanks for hopping on board. I only drove this car once, the day I bought it, and it was a blast. Now it’s been a project for 2 years but it’s getting close. Can’t wait until she live again.

    Awesome progress for sure! I can't wait to see how much better it runs with the rebuilt head and turbocharger from Steve. Keep the videos coming.

      Thanks for following along! Between the broken ring, injector issues, worn rod bearings, junk turbo and head, it should be like a whole different car.

    This is awesome!!! I have a 1985 Dodge Shelby Charger... Same motor and drive train, and watching these videos of yours is going to help me so much 😂. My Shelby has very similar issues. Seems very daunting at first 😂. Can't wait to see that head back on and running!

      Thanks for following along!! It’s for sure been one of the most daunting projects I’ve taken on. Parts aren’t super easy to come by. Going to feel good to finally pull this one out of the garage. I was actually originally searching for a Charger when I found this one. Hope you get yours back going!

    Great cars, but I think u need an Omni GLH! That would great, u might need to sell some body parts though. Lol. Love the content

    Can you do a recommendation on headlight LED replacements. Mines suck.

      No LED’s on this car, but I have Lasfit’s in my truck and they work well. I uploaded a short featuring then about a month ago.

    Impressive form with that lube gun. I can't help but notice you didn't seem to use a torque wrench. Hope you didn't void the warranty

    We produce LEDs for auto. We’d love to work with you. Any idea to do a LED upgrade, Austin.

    be careful with the power steering pressure line. Someone on the forums burned their car using the wrong fitting on the aftermarket pump...

    • @TheMoparGarage
      @TheMoparGarage  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for the heads up! The fitting seemed to be correct, but man that line didn’t fit well. That’s the thing about these cars, anything that springs a leak back there drips right on the 800-1000 degree turbo…
