- Talk’s Ian Collins is joined by former Conservative Deputy Prime Minister Lord Michael Heseltine as political parties begin their General Election campaigns.
Reform UK launched its campaign on Thursday morning, announcing it will stand in every seat, albeit without Nigel Farage.
Mr Farage said he will focus on getting Donald Trump re-elected rather than stand as a Reform UK candidate.
Lord Heseltine accuses the party of “pandering to racism” and capitalising on “public resentment about immigration.”

I work in the NHS, I remember when it wasnt "being propped up" by migrants. It ran better, was professional, and I enjoyed going to work. We worked as a team pulling together, its a far cry from that now.
I remember too. We don't need the immigrants to "prop up" the NHS. We managed fine before. Where we went wrong is taking away any incentive to train our own. Cheaper to import ready made doctors and surgeons. Cheapskate and now we are paying for it. God that man is thick. All bigoted opinion and no brains.

This interview reveals just how out of touch with the needs of modern Britain Lord Heseltine is. Of course, back in the day when Heseltine was a relevant political figure the quantity and characteristics of immigrants would have been quite different to what it is today. The sheer numbers of immigrants these days, and the cultural baggage that they, particularly from Muslim countries, bring with them to the UK today, is so different from how it used to be, and for Lord Heseltine not to see this from his ivory tower reveals a certain narrow mindedness regarding this issue. Also, to denigrate millions of people who do recognise what is happening regarding demographic shifts in the towns and cities of this country, and who want it to be controlled by possibly voting for a party which is most likely to try to get to grips with it, reflects badly on him, and shows just how out of touch the former politician is.

France (a safe country) is 2.5 bigger than England and is connected to the mainland and in the EU. Also if you want an honest conersation on legal migration, look into the pass rated of those that come in and how many of their family members they bring with them and remain after they become adults wiithin the work place. If I went to another country to further my education I would not expect them to also take my father, mother, uncles/anuties or brothers/sisters as well.
