So we pick back up with The Friday the 13th with Chapter 4 or The Final Chapter which is one of My Favorites. A carefree lakeside vacation is interrupted by the re-emergence of killer Jason Voorhees (Ted White). After he escapes from a morgue, leaving bodies in his wake, Jason travels to Camp Crystal Lake where a group of friends is staying. The teens meet some locals: Tommy (Corey Feldman) and Trish (Kimberly Beck), as well as secretive hiker Rob (Erich Anderson). As the group of teenagers engages in drunken debauchery, their numbers begin to dwindle, and pieces of the past resurface. Again I love the kinda different aspect of adding a family in this not just strictly Camp this is also Jason is his Bag of with the Kills

Fun Facts: There was heat between the director of the film and Actor/stuntman Ted White (who played Jason) due to unsafe issues among other cast members. One of the infamous arguments was when they were shooting Judie Aronson's death scene in the water. The water was very cold and she was freezing to death but the director would not let her get out and warm up a bit before continuing. This caused Ted White to step in to tell the director to let her get out and warm up or he was quitting the film. The director finally agreed and she wound up getting hypothermia. Ted White passed away just a few days ago.
Ted White also said that Corey Feldman was an undisciplined, annoying little a$$hole on set.

The kills in this one are quite brutal for the most part. I love how Ted White (RIP) played Jason as just straight up pissed off and on a rampage. Still my favorite portrayal of the character to this day.

My favorite tidbit is that parts 2,3,and 4 all take place over a long weekend. Friday the 13th through (arguably) Tuesday the 17th. So it makes sense that by the time part 4 comes along, Jason is pissed
The practical effects in this movie are amazing like oof it all looks so good.
I think Steven Spielberg must of took notice of a couple of actors in this movie. Corey Feldman went on to star in 4 back to back movie classics right after this movie ( Gremlins, Goonies, Stand By Me, and The Lost Boys) in which 2 (Gremlins and Goonies) are produced by Steven Spielberg. And Crispin Glover gave a memorable performance as George Mcfly in Back To The Future.
Fun Facts: At 58 years old at the time, Ted White is the most senior stuntman/actor to portray Jason Voorhees.Last film in the series to pick up immediately where the previous movie left off. Though he disliked being involved with the film, Ted White is considered by many fans to be one of the best Jasons. The film was released on Friday the 13th: April 13, 1984. Director Joseph Zito opposed using clips from previous installments at the film's beginning. Rather than making masks, Tommy was originally going to have been an inventor. One of his projects was a device made from a microwave oven, which would have been what he used to kill Jason. Some of this is seen in the final product in a scene where he helps repair a car. It is played for humor throughout the Final Chapter that young Tommy Jarvis (Feldman) is suddenly surrounded by horny teenagers renting a cabin he can see from his own house. However, the reality is that those actresses were indeed very or partially naked, and Corey Feldman was still young enough that Erich Anderson and Kimberly Beck took him trick-or-treating on the first day of filming, which happened to be October 31, 1983. So, they shielded 12-year-old Feldman from most of the bad stuff, using tricky editing when necessary. They could not control the power of a low-cut top sans bra underneath. According to Feldman, in the scene in which Judie Aronson's character bends over to greet Tommy's dog unbeknownst to anyone but Feldman, he could see down her low-cut top. Ted White refused to talk to the other actors during production because he thought socializing with them would diminish their fear of Jason. Rob was initially supposed to have high-tech equipment which he had used to track Jason, but the props for this looked cheap, and the idea was scrapped. This is the first film in the franchise where Jason doesn't kill anyone with his trademark machete; instead, he gets defeated by Tommy with Rob's machete. Kimberly Beck is 14 years younger than Joan Freeman, who plays her mother. She is also 15 years older than Corey Feldman, who plays her brother. Joan Freeman was also born on January 8, while Kimberly Beck was born on January 9. Tracy Jarvis' fate and death would have been further explained in a deleted scene cut from the film. An alternate ending to the film, included in the 2009 Deluxe Edition DVD, shows a dream sequence where Trish and Tommy wake up the following day after killing Jason to the sound of police sirens. Trish sends Tommy to summon the police, who have arrived next door. She notices water dripping from the ceiling and goes to investigate. She enters the upstairs bathroom and finds the body of her mother floating in a tub full of bloody water. Trish lifts her mother out of the tub, prompting Tracy's eyes to open, revealing them to be solid white and devoid of irises. Jason suddenly appears from behind the bathroom door and prepares to attack Trish. Trish then suddenly wakes up in the hospital in a scene reminiscent of the first movie's ending. Ted White was uncredited as Jason Voorhees by his own request because he felt it would hurt his career. Years later, he grew to accept his role and started appearing at horror conventions.
Corey Feldman was legit terrified when Jason grabbed him through the window, it wasn't in the script. I think Ted White (Jason) was the one who came up with that idea cause he hated Feldman & thought he was a brat. The guy who plays Ted was high for real, he went method acting for that scene, but said he regretted doing so because it got weird. Crispin Glover originally danced to AC/DC's Back in Black, but for the movie they changed the song. He was known for actually dancing like that in clubs apparently. RIP Ted White.

The actor was straight edge and said the drugs made him feel uncomfortably anxious, he never did drugs again after he got high for the movie.
It was in the script. Ted deliberately broke thru the window a few beats ahead of when he was supposed to. Gave Corey a helluva scare 😂
Ted White who played Jason in this movie was an old school Stunt man. He told Kimberly Beck "Trish" Tommy's sister to really hit him and he could take it. That scene at the end where she's punching him on the mask is one moment.
Arguably the best of the series and the last truly scary Friday the 13th film.
5 still had the Friday the 13th vibe to it in regards to how it was shot. 6 onwards feel like a completely different set of films due to many technical aspects of filmmaking. They just don't gel all that well with the previous films.
@@alucard624 Since the MPAA cracked down on part 5 so much, and it also got terrible reviews, Paramount decided to go with giving Part 6-Part 9 to directors who promised to do something different than the sex and gore formula of part 1-5. Keep in mind that they started to make less and less money with Part 5, so you can't blame Paramount.

Friday the 13th the Final Chapter has a connection to Friday the 13th part 2. The character of Rob is this brother of the character Sandra who was killed in Friday the 13th part 2, that is why he is hunting Jason.
They were very sloppy with this story thread being that the timeline puts this only a few days after his sister’s death, yet Rob is presented as someone who’s been tracking Jason for much longer. They should’ve made him the brother of Alice who Jason killed 5 years prior.
I really like Tom Savini's FX in this movie. The cutaway saw on Axel and the dummy body. The crushed head in the shower. And the knife through the throat on the hitchhiker. Tom Savini actually done that on screen kill.

Best Friday the 13th movie is number 6.. but the best jason,looks best is in number 7. Hes looks CRAZY with his ribs and spine out... and chain around his neck.. Hes aight in this one.

Lousy Lay Jimmy is Crispin Glover. He also played George McFly in Back to the Future. If you wasn't aware.
One thing about this movie is how bad ass Rob's character is. He's hunting Jason to avenge his sister's murder. As big as Rob is, Jason picks him up in the basement and throws him against the wall and then cuts him up. Later throws his dead body through the window.

The director Joe Zito said the bed totally fell on its own when Jimmy and Tina layed down on it. It wasn't supposed to fall down lol.

The Great TOM SAVINI, MADE TOMMY JARVIS MASKS, but had also created the JASON VOOHEES face. Savini also did Creep Show, Dawn of the dead, Day of the dead,( ORIGINALS). Remake of Night of the Living Dead. Plus someone many more!
Rob Dier the hunter guy is the brother of Sandra from Friday the 13th Part 2 - Sandra was the one who was shish-kebabed with a spear by Jason when she was getting it on with her boyfriend Jeff.
So, Rob is out for revenge to get payback at Jason for killing his sister.

I'm nearly 400 lbs, have arthritis in my right knee, and that's how I dance...! No, not quite as agile as Crispin Glover, but I can sure empty a dance hall.
i grew up on 80’s horror having a older brother & sister i was exposed to crazy films before i was even 6… (The key to the 1980’s was excess) Horror/Slasher films exploded and everyone was doing boat loads of coke and making big money (Slashers were over saturated by 1986-1987) Paramount and Friday wasn’t the only ones pumping out sequels cheap to make made easy money.. I’d say Friday the 13th 2-4 is the perfect Slasher Trilogy (4 Pushed the envelope so much so the MPAA went after Paramount hard) After The Final Chapter each follow up sequel was heavily edited (I personally love FT13 Part 5 A New Beginning) Could write a novel on how much i love that sequel

After Sam got pissed and left the party to go for a little swim, I hate it when Doug tells Sara let's mind our own business. No Doug, you mind your damn business and let Sara go be with her friend Sam. But I know that's not how the movie was supposed to play out lol. But in real life that's how I think it should've been.

You like the sound FX of the kills, for instance, they used a head of lettuce and tore through it for the sound of the guy getting his head crushed in the shower.

What "Axel" was watching in the morgue room was a Canadian-produced exercise show, called "20 Minute Workout." It aired on US syndication in 1983/1984 and it would feature young women exercising in forms that was obviously made extremely sexual & they were told to make those faces when the camera would do close-ups.
This was actually Aerobecise, which was a similar show. This episode is up here on UA-cam.

Part 2, 3 and 4 are set a day apart from each other but Jason's face is different in each one
Each entry is more than a day. Part 2 takes place over a two day period, same with part 3. Part 4 happens over a 3 day period.

They only counted the 10 victims at Higgins Haven. The police already tended to the murder scene the day prior when the kids in part 3 were driving up to Higgins Haven.
I love all of the Kills in this one, thanks to FX Master Tom Savini. He created to look of Jason in the original and he returned to kill Jason in The Final Chapter. My favorite in this franchise.
