Give me your feedback on this style of video! If you did, make sure to let me know of anything I can improve on! My biggest regret with this video was not taking more time to make it, a mistake I definitely won't make with the next one. If I did make any factual mistakes, please let me know aswell! By the way, RMTs that sell platinum often obtain it with fraudulent means, like hacking, exploits or cloned credit cards, so not only would you be violating the EULA but also encouraging crimes by buying from them. So PLEASE don't IRL trade. (Credit to @SR-de8rd).
Most RMT traders actually don't sell platinum (or any currency) since it's simply too easy to detect. Instead they sell mods, parts, boosting and similar things. That's true for almost any online game I've ever played, a nearly universal rule you could say.
@@missk1697 Sometimes it's even more discreet than that. I've heard that IRL traders moving money in some really creative ways, and then receiving payment some other way.
4:28 While that is true for the majority of us, platinum has to come from somewhere, it has to be bought. Which is another thing I don't see many people talk about is that Warframe is one of those rare games where whales are actually appreciated by the playerbase, because their purchase actually benefits everyone since the platinum they bought can be circulated into the in-game economy, thus creating a healthy symbiotic relationship between whales and F2Players.
Yep, and platinum will always end up returning to DE eventually as while some use it as an exchange currency between players, most want to earn platinum because they want a cosmetic, or forma, or speed up their 5m foundry item, all stuff that's not tradeable. Whales and free-players can feed off each other, more accounts can enjoy platinum-exclusive items (instead of having some with everything and unable to spend more money, or others with nearly nothing), everyone is happy.
@@willsir129 Its almost like when the bottom rung isnt dependant on the resource trickling down, due to a bypass to directly get the reasorce, the higher rungs have no incentive to withold said reasorce to inflate its value. The fact plat is mostly either used for cosmetics(a one time purchase per item) and rivens(effectively consumables that can be aquired entirely free to play), its become a reasorce that has little value hording. Theres no good reason to hoard plat, it did its job upon existing by helping fund DE, after that whether its spent or not doesnt fundementally impact the usage of plat by other players.
1:50 I once bought a prime piece for 40 plat and when I went to build it I realized that when I traded with the other person, neither of us realized we traded for the wrong item, so I messaged him back saying that and he apologized and so did I, and he gave me the piece I needed. I thought I wasn’t going to get my item tbh, super awesome person :D
Yeah, don't paying attention sometimes does it. once dude inputed 1 more 0 into his plat offer, which could result of me getting 10x more plat. I told him right away and he gave 20 more plat as a thank you just for not taking advantage of him. Pretty cool interaction
warframe economy and market was fine 10 years ago, will be fine in 2025 and even years after, if it's not broken don't fix it. a player driven economy can't be broken because there will always be people that will set fair prices and vouch for good practices above all.
I think that's mainly due to the way DE runs its company and how it values its players' opinions. It makes sense that they would let us have a free player market as opposed to a controlled one.
@@Finallin imo it's mainly due to the game being PVE focused at it's core, there is no competition between players so there is no need to put high prices for X broken stuff that will OS anything and everything by the community and have DE come up with a controlled market to get control over the prices. DE being a fair and positive game company helps a lot to reinforce the bond between players and developers thus creating a positive climate all around the game, trading included.
@@itsKimi You're right! tbh I didn't think about how it being PVE focused could largely contribute to that. I come from largely competitive and toxic PVP games, so my worldview is that a positive community is probably not the sole reason why an economy is so stable lol
Exactly and with what you said in this comment is so true too, it’s the reason I love warframe because not only does the devs try their hardest to focus on players’ wants but the devs try their hardest to interact with each player too which really reinforces on being kind to one another. You can most of the time meet really cool people and have fun interactions with anyone.
I agree with @itsKimi, it's not broken at all. The problems listed as drawbacks aren't problems. Like variability. Jesus christ, you should be happy that items like this can be acquired later at a cheaper value. As a trader you have to diversify.
they expecting a new player to ping them with verglas, torid etc riven. yes the entire thing is a scam, to buy cheap rivens that can be sold higher so if they buy 10p-20p rivens they will check on warframe market if the riven for that weapon is selling for more than that like 100p, if so they will buy it off the new player to sell at higher price. literally frickin warframe dropshipping.
i just started Warframe a week ago, and gotta say the community is the best i've ever encountered in a live service game ever, most of my first trades people just gave me more platinum than my items worth, and when i pointed that out they all just say "take it you're a new player this might help", a couple of them just gave me a whole frame for one cheap piece, that's wild
You can think of what I meant as, you are buying platinum that was already circulating through the economy instead of buying it from DE directly, giving them money and circulating more plat into the market.
I’m a big seller in ESO and WoW. I don’t sell anything in Warframe. It isn’t that I don’t want to, it’s just that being a “face-to-face” transaction in Warframe, I feel as if I would have to abandon missions or inconvenience the people I’m playing with to take time out to do a trade. Being able to list my items somewhere so people could buy them without interacting with me would have me selling a lot of stuff.
This is a concern some people have. For example, buyers may make sellers wait for them to finish a mission. For me, if the trade is important of big enough, i would just leave the mission lol.
I'm okay with the current system but I wish we could just trade without having to physically enter the dojo or bazaar. It's just a waste of time. They can make trading virtual (via menus) even if being part of a clan is required.
Yeah, I’ve always thought having an auction house where you can put items up for auction and then people will either bid on it or they can just out right buy it will be good and it just keeps track of how much it went up for auction for and then you can travel to the auction house then take out the plat you earned from the auction
I’ve gotten so many Vaulted items from Trades for free when I started… The Warframe Community is just so open and nice, it’s crazy. With such a nice Community you’ve got no choice but to give back what you have experienced as well.
My only concern with the current trade system is the balance between the tradeables and the sinks. When I first started half a decade or so ago there were a ton of prime parts than were trading well above their "ducat floor", but nowadays it's rare to drop something worth over 20, let alone 60+. Meanwhile we went from potato+3-4 forma for most things to potato+exilus adapter+arcane adapter+5-6 forma to max out the average weapon which means we went from 55-67 plat per maxed weapon to 110 or even more if you don't wanna farm steel essence. While skin "classes" remain unchanged, a lot of the modern aesthetic content types are also more expensive (ie. gemini skins are 275 a pop vs the 165 of deluxes). So plat is generally harder to farm and drains quicker than it used to. I used to constantly max out weapons just for the hell of it but nowadays I really think twice about whether I really want to bite into my reserves for the tenth assault rifle.
This is an underrated comment. DE definitely does have ways to change the out of game economy. Mainly through creating more plat sinks to keep prices high, and deflating prices by running events with rare items to reduce the prices of things. I've noticed that ever since DE released a ton of different ways to passively farm Kuva, the price of good rivens has gone way down. Having more ways to unlock rivens has driven the price down from the days when a good riven would cost 3k plat. More event farms and a few mod nerfs also brought the price of mods like maiming strike from 600+ plat to near worthless, like most other mods. DE doesn't directly force the market to move one way or another, but Baro is another one of tools to manage the economy. I guarantee the sale of a Primed Chamber for almost 50 thousand real life dollars of plat had an impact on DE's decision to have Baro bring Primed Chamber to deflate the price. Baro also allows DE to constantly pump the price of equipment up, and keeping plat flowing around the economy. If there was no use for prime equipment besides building the weapon, then the price would easily crater for most prime equipment. But Baro creates a price floor that gives every relic drop at least some value. Personally, I prefer the Warframe economy style, where you can farm for most stuff easily, and there's plenty of equipment in the economy to buy whatever you can't be bothered to farm. Other games have insane grinds for incredibly rare drop chances, and that just seems frustrating.
Honestly, I just want an improvement in the Maroo's Bazaar shops. Essentially, I want the MapleStory free market. I just want to be able set prices and buy/sell things without further interaction. I don't actually mind the interaction itself, but as a PS5 player, the less typing I have to do, the better
I feel like there should be options, yes. But I'm pretty sure DE said that they don't want to go a route that restricts interaction between players, so it probably won't happen anytime soon.
@@wy100101 Looking at average market low and underselling ppl who want higher for the same thing, i do it quite often cause id rather sell fast than wait awhile for a fair price which has its own positives and negatives. Not sure why its being stated as an issue though, its fair game. I feel like the ppl that actively sell their stuff higher are the primary ones it irritates cause then it pushes them out of the market or makes it a lot more difficult to sell. Poor players wanna have fun too, stop gating content from them just cause you want more yk? imo
Ofcourse it will sell low like that because its not vaulted. Primed Warframe before are 1000p per set in 2015 when they were vaulted and no new player will spent plat for that. DE made the relics for new players to get their hand on their preferred warframe to play with. So stop blaming undersellers because they're the reason new players have the chance to play a primed warframes.
@@divinedragonkirrwtf . I started warframe three month ago and someone soldnme gauss prime for 40p. Loved him for that even when i thought he maybe ripped me off because i dont know the prices. But if it was 1000 back then , jesus christ.
I do appreciate DE trade taxes being in credit. So many other games have it in their $ equivalent currency. As long as they keep providing thing worth buying only with plat like skins as a way to remove plat from circulation, this system works and the player benefit on two fronts. That format really surprised me when I started playing a few month back. I play another game with the same type of monetization (Dofus) which came out in 2004 and just got a huge engine update. That game has a Trading Post which is central to it's economy. What keeps item value is the way they incorporated other system like you can break down gear and you get runes that you feed into an rng system to try an upgrade your gear (the number of rune you get depends on how many of that specific item have been broken, values goes up and down over time). Lower valued resources can be fed to pets to level them. Popular farming area gets lower drop rates while unpopular ones gets a higher % and that number varies in real time. If warframe ever make an in game auction house, I hope they look at other games such as this one although I like our current system and I don't think it needs any modification. I get what you mean by forgetting about the game and only playing the market. It's so profitable and your account often progress way faster that way. It's a good thing there's a daily trade limit as much to avoid forgetting about the game as to avoid large scale market manipulation.
i wish this game had a market like guild wars 2, post the item you want to sell and it stays posted until someone buys it and you get the gold (plat in wf case)
I think another thing that makes warframe unique is that you can only trade with plats or a barter with other items. Trading with premium currency is pretty rare, and I think I used to play something that have something similar but they do it alongside the in-game currency. And then we also have the plats being valued very generously. A lot of premium currencies on other games barely give you something on the lowest value purchase, on warframe, you can get *a lot* with just the lowest value. Slots, boosters, cosmetics, or even a full prime set from other players. Price manipulation is something that's also a "must" for new items. It might be scummy, but shoot on high price and see the market's response to figure out the price range. This is something that happened with the recent Xaku prime and Sevagoth prime. A single piece of Xaku part could cost hundreds when it was very new. And this is also something that happened a lot on other games as well, so shooting high prices for new items is still pretty normal. The trade chat, however, always shoot on high prices even when the stable price is much lower. As for auction, I feel that if they could made it strictly only for rivens, I guess it should be fine. Rivens are very fluctuative, so depending on the stats, it could be priced very low or very high, but since there's no predetermined set of effects, it's hard to precisely put a price on them, and auctioning it might be the best way to figure out the price. The downside to that is as you said, it could actually worth more, but the owner wasn't sure how much would be the lowest price, and end up putting up the price too low and someone snitched it. Though if it's *that* good then maybe there's more people that'd go for it and raise the price.
I'll be blunt: I fucking love these Warframe Market-Focused Videos. Looking forward to the "Riven Mafia" or "Riven Market" Episode. . . If there's bound to be one
I had 20k plat at some point, only by trading, and since I didn’t had anything to spend the plat on, I started buying stupid expensive rivens just because I can XD
This has been me for the past year, ive blown over 30k plat on foolishness just cuz. Buying rivens for nonmeta weapons that no one uses anymore just to see if the rivens can get them up to par
@@Werepyreswhat’s a good way to make plat now? I sold some mods and arcanes the other day, was happy about making an easy 300 plat. I did more trading years ago, here and there, but as a busy casual I tend to prefer to just play, so not a ton of experience. I keep prime sets and the like, and sometimes I sell them .
Warframe trading system HAS to change. (not linked to economy) People thinking is ok are not doing their 30 trades per day is a nightmare (and even more for poeple in trash countries like India) - A lot of invite issues - Sometimes trade fails - Somtimes people has placed item to trade but you don't see it, so u've to leave dojo and reinv him (else trading will resume) - Can't see the guy in the dojo (you have to reinv later) - People that dont know the trading tax (where for some stuff is really huge) I'll not list everything. I would say that each day, I have 10% of trades were something is wrong. So around 60 issues per month which is averagely equivalent to 4h+ loss in this way of doing. More than 95% of the time, there is no negotiation and futhermore, sometimes there is no other word, only the copy paste of wfm. Negotiation are only for rivens or when you want to buy "big" quantities. You don't answer your title question "Is Warframe's Economy Broken". In a country, payment way doesn't really describe the economy. The answer of your question is Yes but it's hidden because of the way of payment. More than 99.9% of people are innocent, while the rest knows, that can't be on a ytb video. Is Warframe Economy seems great for 99.9+% of people: for sure. So it is good, yes.
I remember I one time I got sentient surge basically for free because I was asking my clan if they knew where I could get it and one guy said “I can just give it to you if you want I don’t use the weapon so it’s meaningless to me” at the time this mod was worth 200p. I gave him a 50p tip for his generosity
Interesting video. You definitely hit the nail on the head in regards to donation. I started playing ten years ago, last year I spent some money simply as a token of appreciation
Yea, especially given that as you progress into the game that prices for plat start to feel too high (w/o a discount), so i usually just buy plat if i want to support de
fun fact : 3 updates ago warframe added a bot in trade chat so if a mafia team tries to change the price of something increase it up or down alot the bot will fast ban that accounts mafia and those who bought and sold it . they took the full charge of market website to control the prices so no one can use it to destroy the game . thats why this system in warframe works perfectly .
I’ve been a hardcore Warframe enjoyer for over 8 years now and whenever I get bored of fps games warframe is my safe space. I love it’s variety, free market, interesting lore and a lot more it’s hard to list. Videos like this are great for so many reasons. I notice youre a small channel and I have no doubt in my mind you’ll be successful. Low key giving me the motivation to make my own warframe video and see what happens. Anyways great video and keep up the good work!!!
On the third point, I have a clear exemple of this in one of the trading relays. I had taken a break from the game cause I got tired of the game for a while before coming back a few weeks before WitW and I was looking to trade for a Wisp Set and sometimes I'm curious about the trading relays. I get in and I see "two" people selling the set each : the first one was selling it at 900p and the other at 650p (while it was 90p at the time on Market) with the excuse that it "takes time to farm
Buy low sell high is what is actually ruining the market. People like yourself like you mentioned, that sit in the trade chat all the live long day and buy R0 energize from desperate Tennos who happened upon one for 5 and 10 plat. Creating a situation where inexperienced players see this and think energize isn't worth anything when it is literally the most rare and expensive arcane in the game. This is the kind of behavior that disrupts the whole economy and causes misunderstandings when the right price is being displayed.
The worst thing to ever happen to trade Chad was Warframe market because as soon as Warframe market became a thing everyone started acting like the price on market was gospel
2:25 yea basically like in any trade there is gonna be either price fixing or just buy out the competition and resell for a much higher value pretty normal in all games with trading ngl
That's true! Though take into account how my point about how people tend to not sell lower value items because of the hassle would play into this. If there's high supply but low demand, it is significantly easier to buy out competition since there are fewer listings. This is exacerbated if even your new prices are relatively low, since people still wouldn't really care enough to compete with you. A typical free market with an auction house would make it way easier to list these items and therein you would have more competition, making it harder to actually profit off of price manipulation.
@Finallin 🗿 ngl in any trade it's better to not make it a free market like ngl I get a small group we buy everything out and just force others to buy our insane prices the last thing you want is a free market so if they monopolize it ngl that's ngl a smart move you gotta give credit
I think the economy in warframe won't inflate too much or even at all considering there are so many ways to just sink drain platinum. There's this one economy game known as Growtopia that Ubisoft bought around 6 years ago. The economy in that game has gone absolutely nuts. Inlfation got so bad the values for items I saw when I was actively playing have either gone down or up 10x it's original value and ubisoft removing the way to drain world locks and diamond locks (which are a trading currency used).
I think an auction-house would be a bad idea simply because it puts too much power over the economy in one place. Even if we trust DE to always make good decisions this creates a single point of failure where a bug or exploit could cause massive damage. Having the market run by a third party allows for fail-safes and damage control.
Yes. Free markets are free to be abused or manipulated. Id add in that to me DE is rather against making “just buy it at [place] “ the default solution to everything
I do think some kinda implementation of something similar to the warframe market website would be helpful because although third party is fine it sorta excludes people without the knowledge of it plus is just less convenient overall. People who are new especially should have this knowledge because the requirement to buy weapon and warframe slots
Yea, it would also be a lot more robust and appealing to newer players. When I was starting out the idea of using a separate website to do my trading was a little weird.
As someone that grew up with Warframe and is now 31, the economy will be fine. It's a cycle. You're young/student, you play, grind and trade. Sometimes you buy some plats if you have the money. Then you're an adult, you're working. You don't have the time to grind anymore or don't have the patience either. So you buy plast when you see a -50%, -70% or -75% plat reduction. It's been years since I stopped trading and I prefer giving money to those devs than buying a 250€ LoL skin or spend for some gacha. But man, back then: "thanks and have a good day/night" was something I said so many times I can still see it outside of my screen :'D.
Side note: Please don't treat Warframe Market prices as the definitive value for items when trading outside of the platform. If you want to buy at Warframe Market prices, simply purchase directly from there. It's unreasonable to haggle with a Trade Chat seller for the same price when Warframe Market offers a more straightforward option.
Warframe's economy has always been peak, and it's better than all other online game. An auction house ruins player interactions by turning into a vending machine that soullessly spits out junk, and as you've mentioned, would ruin prices further. People deserve to charge premium for something, or the chance to bargain for it. And while using Warframe Market isn't something you wouldn't know about unless someone told you, it's something you get used to and is a part of the game. As for scamming new players, that's something that's in EVERY online game, and it's realistic; there's a reason the phrase "buyer beware" exists. Having an Auction House is just going to encourage people to constantly undercut each other, making nothing unique. The free-styled trading system is also one of the reasons why I still play Warframe, and games that have Auction Houses tend to suck and be boring.
Too many don't use wf market and sell shit for 3x+ the price. Xaku prime is 70-100 play average. 90% of the posts in trade chat in game want 300 plat. Prices need regulated. De should buy wf market use the data to limit sales in game. If the current majority of a set is 70 plat then when trading in game it should limit the trade to 70 plat. Too many scammers.
The "riven" scam that one clan did is the only horrible incident I've heard since joining about 6 years ago. Doesn't mean there aren't others, but it's still impressive.
I could see something like Alecaframe being added because crossplay has only really been a thing for a year and a half. They have already talked about needing to improve trade chat because we have a much bigger wider audience being introduced to warframe market. I know the console versions existed but their prices were astronomically high because barely anyone used it and when crossplay started and basically opened the floodgates for console players to trade with pc.
You're doing a fantastic job! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
The only way to fix it is being able to report shady people. They are not scammers but try to take advantage of people… I.e I saw a dude selling a weapon for 45p I was already selling mine at 35p. He messaged me saying if I wanted to earn platinum from it he’d give me 30p since 25p is the high price.
i also love the idea of having an auction house but at same time also hated it, i love it since if you want to buy something, you can insta buy it even with the player being offline, as long as they place these items, but at same time i hated the auction house as 1, you need to pay like tax in retrieving the sales, 2 if the auction house got like duration per item listed its a hassle to keep posting it everytime it expire, 3 players can inflate the prices of some items to some degree....and compared to how WF operates its market, its basically stable, tho i hope sites like warframe market could auto hide people who hasnt been online to the site as its pretty annoying to find someone who sells at affordable price only to know they havent online or played the game....also having interactions with other players also is good as you get to befriend them, you can get someone to be your buyer for specific stuff, and lastly you can haggle prices, its basically enjoyable......and i do agree having too much plats makes you feel content and dont want to spend anymore, but same can be said with no plat, wants to earn more to spend on stuff
With Aleccaframe I just recently got more into trading. Its just so much qol to just click one button to sell your stuff. Also keeping track of all your sell and buy orders and your inventory But what I got out so far is, that everything gets bought. I just made 300+ plat in 2 days. My most expensive trade was a max galvanized elementalist for 80plat. People buy everything. Stuff you normally grind, gets bought. You can even sell a max rank flow and people buy it. Its actually really easy to get plat, when you want.
Warframe market: 3 days ago- Prime frame 90 plat... One hour later- Same frame is 35 plat One hour later- Same frame is now 70 plat One hour later- Same frame is now 30 plat 20 minutes later- Same frame is now 90 plat on the market, stays this way till now, maybe 89 or 88 from undercutting... In game people message ing me when I put it for 75 in trade chat when I see this- "it's 30 plat, get your prices right, check the market you idiot, you shouldn't be playing this game....(34 different people messaged me with similar messages over the span of 5 hours, I had been looking at the market reloading the page every 10 minutes within those 5 hours, frame was still 85-90 plat.... Explain to meeee Even the wtb section ppl were asking for the set and offered 80 plat, recent posts too
Whats funny about that is before prime reemergence is frames that were in the vault was going for that much and higher. Back in like 2016 frost and ember were like 1200 plat.
I remember buying revenant prime for like 30p a couple months ago and I look in trade chat and see someone selling him for 150p. Shits crazy and they just sit there the entire day waiting for someone to buy it too
This takes me back to like 4 years ago some trade chat mf asking 4k plat for Nova Prime set just because it had been vaulted for a while. Maybe worth at most 400p-500p at the time
Warframes economy has that one really annoying thing and that is riven trading. Everything else has more or else a set value in the community, driven by laws of supply and demand. Rivens, unless "unrolled" or "junk" have really subjective value, and people tend to overprice the shit out of good rivens for popular guns. Not a single riven in the game ever should exceed something like 3000 plat, which is already absurd (that's 130$ or something like that) but nope, people are not willing to negotiate below 10k, or sometimes even up to 20k for some really good rivens. Even a mediocore ones that have a dead stat or a really harmful negative are being priced as 2k to 5k, and most of that crap is done by flippers. My personal opinion is that flipping should not be allowed, and you'd only be allowed to sell items you did grind yourself. Ofc this could exclude rivens you roll, mods you upgrade and such, as you did more than just buy/sell. Lastly personally I really like video essay type of videos, as I like to watch/listen to them in between missions of warframe or anything else like that. And you said that you had made 1600 plat, and then you did burn out or you didn't know what to do with them? Well, it's not that hard to spend such amount. I did sell fish for a month straight when plains of eidolon came out and I made 3k plat. I tend to spend a lot of it on forma packs, arcane adapters (too lazy grind steel path) and frame/weapon slots. Also 200 a month is a must for resource booster it really helps with upgrading relics and kuva farming. But, I am really a collectorr, I have almost all of the frames and most of them have lots of forma for good builds, and about 200 weapons like that as well.
I believe Warframe needs more Item sinks because right now players don't need any mod or frame parts one they got one. A way to use those for something else would be great because right now all we got is turning mods into endo and prime parts into ducats.
I wanna add to your point of player interaction that sometimes I give some stuff for free for the low Mr or new players to make them enjoy the game or some other times for no reason at all so yeah I can agree with your point and I love the fact that DE didn't interfere love y'all keep grinding🫡
3:32 i dont remember waht i did but i did something like i guess it was overpricing but i felt so guilty because other player where good i started giving away stuff for free if i dont intend to use it or go to hassel of selling it, like giving duplicate necromech parts someone give me his spare for free as its hard till you get the your first but then its just there so give them away as well
i think one of the main issues that influence market - is damn metaslaves. Honestly I think if someone is willing to pay 3k plat for a riven or 40k plar for primed chamber, they deserve to be scammed. Honestly primed chamber incident was one of the greatest events in WF history. Now to the serious stuff. I think having timegated accessibility to prime parts like warframes and weapons is not ideal, but with the was DE manage it is fine. You can live without nekros prime if you don't want to buy it and just use regular nekros. What I really have issue is content creators and folk in community that inflate value of items using clickbait. Ocukor augment is good, but I don't think it worth of 300 plat. Also I remember riven mafia incident, gus like that should be banned. I think community should be overall more chill with the meta and trying to get integer overflow level of damage and content creators should popularize spending plat on the weapon slots, potatoes and skins instead of arcanes and rivens. That will greatly benefit everyone, especially newer players. That way people will sink credits onto game, effectively flushing cash, and will focus on playing the game and farming things instead of trying to get everything right now with a plat and doing jeesus level of damage on poor 100lvl butcher
The only thing gives a reason for most players to make a lot of plat, is rivens imo. Once you get past like 10-20k there is really nothing in the game that you can't afford or that would put a major dent in your wallet... except for rivens. One could easily spend that and more on just a handful of rivens for weapons. There is also just being a collector, and trying to get everything, which means buying all the cosmetics or just seeing funny number go up. But not a lot of people do that comparably. I think one thing that could change the economy for the better would be tweaking how we roll rivens. If they were to allow us to lock in a stat when rolling, then rivens would become much more accessible because the chance at getting the best roll or one of them goes up significantly. It might raise the price of unrolls, but it would help to devalue the ludicrously expensive rivens greatly. There is not really a good reason imo for something to be worth 50k+ plat like some rolls go for. One the topic of an in game auction house. I believe that would hurt DE's income majorly. This is because the people with the least plat are the most likely to buy plat, and the auction house like you touched on, would tank prices everywhere. This would be two fold, one ofc players would just have less reasons to buy more plat, and two it would reduce the siphoning effect that a lot of the endgame player base has on the economy. Many players that make platinum income their endgame activity, effectively remove large chunks of plat from the economy, since what the hell are you gonna do with tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of plat, besides get ur boosters and buy and trade godrolls with it. But even with that the large chunk of plat likely never leaves their inventory or it goes to other platinum whales which do the same thing.
i will say, i love the platinum coupons (yes coupons) for plat deals and granted i held out until i landed a 75% off and got $200 of plat for $50 bucks. love that aspect. I do like how you need to do research as well as it adding unpredictability. there is thing ive bought hoards of to let them build up in price and then it just never happening almost a year later which sucks but meh
Aya wrecked the economy, prime resurgence ruined my sales man, I make a fraction of what I used to, I made consistent plat, around 5k a day, when resurgence released I took a break, I'm back and everythings gone to shyte, I barely make 800 a day now, it's really difficult to be f2p and new to the game, I actually feel bad for any new players, warframe market used to be a joke back then and now everyone is using it and is undercutting everyone else, no more stable prices or willing buyers that don't wanna low ball you or scam you, frames and weapons prices were based on wether their vaulted or not and how long they were vaulted for, 90% of the people that I interacted with could agree on prices, now everyone thinks your a joke for using an average price instead of the lowest one on the market at that exact time
@fob911 no, I never really baught and resold anything nore did I over charge for anything, and if people asked me to lower the prices by like 10 or 20 plat I would with now issue, but that was because I knew that I'd still be making a decent amount, now it's close to nothing, the reason most of my things sold quick was because I was slightly undercharging
@@fob911 also, I actually used to get requests from clan leaders to farm 20 to 40 sets of a frame over 2 weeks every few months because of how fair my prices were and I actually farmed every set myself and made the trades on time, it was really fun and it was well worth it for the plat, the real scalpers are the people buying "prime junk", bow clan leaders are asking me to farm the same frames but give them away for much much much less and I just feel like it isn't worth my time anymore, the return isn't worth it anymore in my eyes
The pricing in trade chat differs from region to region. The prices in Europe are way lower than in North America. Part XY in EU 50p in NA 120p for example. Crazy
call it a crackpot theory but DE benefits a lot from these overpriced trades, especially riven sales. And the reason they won't implement an auction house is because it'll reduce the prices of items resulting in DE making less money, so yes they're no saints, they're greedy as well.
The in-game market is completely broken luckily I managed to make over 150,000 p over 2 years selling newest arcanes etc. I stop over a year ago. I used to start back in April each year buying Prime junk for tennocon. Spent 60 to 80,000 ducat. Getting mods weapons etc Maxed primed mods to sell. Wasn't worth the effort to constantly buy sculpture to max mods n be profitable. Then started selling corrupted mods maxed for 150p was good for a while had to eventually lower to 130p competition by then was only making 20p profit for farm or buy mod buy sculpture to max mod just to help players basically. Then players selling them for 100p or less maxed. Gave up. Now I just gift my friends everything new released and gift wish lists for entertainment. I'm L4 with everything n nothing to get or do
Keep in mind that the only reason it was so expensive was because nightwave was originally the only way to get it up until naberus of this year. Basically, you'd have to wait a few years and pray it doesn't get added back in some sort of way before it returns to its original amount.
the trading in warframe is fine as you showed in the video you can use wf market to get something for cheap but for example i have used the trade chat to make all my plat (16k) and if I used wf market that simply wouldn't be possible
Maybe an have the auction house just for rivens? Cause for as long as i have been playing this game, what always turned me off from trade chat and to use it very sparingly from MR1 to now LR2 is the rivens (and a bit of social anxiety) I've never bought or sold a riven but i always found with the rivens imo makes trade chat too volatile for me, although from the time i did use trade chat they where positive i still don't use it much. I do think the suggestion of integrating WFM into the game would be a good medium, tho at least you'll get a clear view of prices.
I like this kind of videos. As a WF veteran myself, I would welcome a auction house, but I doubt DE will ever bring this to the game. Because it makes it super easy for ppl to earn lazy pl
I’ve not played something with an auction house but if it behaves similar to how the market site works I’d absolutely wish something like that would be added I remember early being scammed outta a nataruk riven not understanding it’s worth cause i didn’t know any place to compare prices
@@buttertoto378it's kind of like WF market but you just click and it trades, no need for a trade post or invites It would be nice for material x material between dojo members but not for plat
On the elder scrolls online they have like 6 markets in every town and city and they are run by trading guilds and the guilds bid on a trading spot they want for the week and depending on the spot the higher the price as some spots are more popular then others and the way you sell things is you join a trading guild and you pay a fee every week not much but it help the guild to bid for the next spot the week after and the fee gives you permission to trade things on there and when you buy things or sell things it gets sent to you through the mail I really like the trade system on that game
What I got out of this video is that I need to sell my +10 hammer shots, NOW. But in all seriousness, it's surprising how Warframe's economy is way more stable and continues to be when compared to other games like WoW. The free market really does work. Also, guys, c'mon, getting discounted plat is ridiculously easy, even more so now with cross save/platform allowing everyone to take advantage of the PC discounts. Going to the black market really isn't worth it.
Sometimes you can just say yolo and post whatever plat amount you have and ask for it in trading. I needed a Titania Prime Systems and WFM was selling for 50 but got it from trade chat for 36
Hmm, I don't see much problem in [Asia] server trade as there were cases in the past (few years ago when I took a break from Warframe) few rich players bought as many super rare mods to re-sell it at a higher price, but later drop back down few weeks or a month later, cause lots of other traders undercut them. Quote from a certain Clan mate "Asia server is big, too many hardcore farmers/traders here lol" oh and there will be veterans calling people out for attempted scamming, which is kinda rare cause normally I see the "*******" stars cause they using a different language pack.
It's Chinese and farming r crazy there 45 ducat is worth 2 plat here down from 3 they r kinda hardcore too like there r few dedicated agents for relic cracking with relic suplier
The biggest issue with the economy in warframe is misinformation, which is why DE won't make any market of any sort in which you can compare prices because new players or people who don't want to use WFMarket will use and therefore buy more platinum
Quote on quote "If it was centralized then prices would be more far" If it was centralized prime warframes would basically be unbuyable do you see their actual warframe prices? most of them are between 180 - 350
I play on Mobile, and I mainly buy stuffs in warframe market, trade chat prices are absurd. But I was hoping DE devs will consider improving their trade system. If DE doesnt like the idea of making their own market house to people who put stuff and go offline, maybe they can consider us players to make a vending trade. I can go AFK in one the relays and stay there and put my stuff to sell and go AFK. Some of us have a life to take care of, being glued to farming is enough, but why trading feels like a day trading job. I hope DE thinks of a way of a better trading system, too much hassle.
The best part of trading is trying to be the first person to type some variation of "Thanks"

Tried to trade someone and i've been told "you need to say Hi first"... traded the next player on warframe market 😂
Didn’t think about this, but it’s a good point! Other games, especially more competitive ones, typically villainize spending money on them.
@cdgonepotatoes4219 then theres the gigachads that buy plat on the reg to support DE and just give it away to random people.
Holy shit it’s an actual trickle down economy! And I have over 14 thousand bought platinum!

It's awesome that people are so welcoming! It's a huge part of what makes Warframe special.
4:29 whenever you trade platinum it's always sourced from people who bought platinum, so it's still profitable for de if you just trade
That's a fair reason, it can make it tricky when outside a clan and you don't wanna do dojo stuff
Yeah like put a trade machine in our ship
@neonx6202 honestly yeah, could be unlocked via dojo research and then buying it
Yeah, I’ve always thought having an auction house where you can put items up for auction and then people will either bid on it or they can just out right buy it will be good and it just keeps track of how much it went up for auction for and then you can travel to the auction house then take out the plat you earned from the auction
I think this is a decent stop gap for bot trading. If you've been in any of the trading discords there are some ppl that treat it like their day job.
I’ve gotten so many Vaulted items from Trades for free when I started…
The Warframe Community is just so open and nice, it’s crazy.
@Finallin Yeah. I've been here on and off since beta. I'm not holding my breath for it lol
Dont forget the undersellers. WTS gauss prime 25p...
What do you mean by undersellers exactly? Selling for less than what other are offering it for? If so, that is just basic market forces at work.
@@generalxforce2491 3 months ago gauss at 40p is fair, now that the relic rotates his prime parts are easier to farm, hence the 25p
I'll have to check out dofus. But yes if taxes were on platinum that would actually be the devil's doing.
i wish this game had a market like guild wars 2, post the item you want to sell and it stays posted until someone buys it and you get the gold (plat in wf case)
Great video! Interesting topic and chill vibes.

Warframe trading system HAS to change. (not linked to economy)
People thinking is ok are not doing their 30 trades per day is a nightmare (and even more for poeple in trash countries like India)
- A lot of invite issues
- Sometimes trade fails
- Somtimes people has placed item to trade but you don't see it, so u've to leave dojo and reinv him (else trading will resume)
- Can't see the guy in the dojo (you have to reinv later)
- People that dont know the trading tax (where for some stuff is really huge)
I'll not list everything.
When the major complaint I’m seeing is that people can’t easily make 1k+ plat a day anymore, that means it’s working beautifully

Damn 2.7k subs?? For something that had no script this was extremely well worded
fun fact : 3 updates ago warframe added a bot in trade chat so if a mafia team tries to change the price of something increase it up or down alot the bot will fast ban that accounts mafia and those who bought and sold it . they took the full charge of market website to control the prices so no one can use it to destroy the game . thats why this system in warframe works perfectly .

This is the kind of behavior that disrupts the whole economy and causes misunderstandings when the right price is being displayed.
great video :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
If something cost under 5 plat yea im not even bothering listing it
fr at that point its just a waste of 1 of your daily trades lol
The worst thing to ever happen to trade Chad was Warframe market because as soon as Warframe market became a thing everyone started acting like the price on market was gospel
"waahhh I can't scam newbies anymore"
someone is mad because they cant sell their primes for 600 plat anymore
@pablogonzaleziii says who...
Geat vid, first btw
I like the economy now since the merge . Warframe market makes it even better . I feel like if you pay a higher price , it’s your fault in my opinion.
I make way less money on average since the merge lol
Things can be rare and people can be offline, which drives up the price. Supply and demand.
@@haroldtrei same, before it was like 800-900 plat now its 400-500 on a lucky week. and im not selling rivens just basic normal grind stuff.
I think the economy in warframe won't inflate too much or even at all considering there are so many ways to just sink drain platinum. There's this one economy game known as Growtopia that Ubisoft bought around 6 years ago. The economy in that game has gone absolutely nuts. Inlfation got so bad the values for items I saw when I was actively playing have either gone down or up 10x it's original value and ubisoft removing the way to drain world locks and diamond locks (which are a trading currency used).
the skyblock reference is great
The guys selling rivens for over 1k plat annoy me as much as the people selling prime warframe sets for 20p.
im enjoying these more niche wf dives instead of just NEW FRAME OP
Eversince the cross-platform merge the market price consistencies have drastically fluctuated
I bought void hole for 100p back when railjack was relatively new….. yeah i know
If you’re on ps using Warframe market please don’t message on the market
/w “players name” in chat and just message them in game
Not my area of expertise so for your sake I’m not going to answer that. There are plenty of resources that can help you though!
The only way to fix it is being able to report shady people. They are not scammers but try to take advantage of people…
I.e
I saw a dude selling a weapon for 45p
I was already selling mine at 35p. He messaged me saying if I wanted to earn platinum from it he’d give me 30p since 25p is the high price.
really good video!
Glad you think so!
i also love the idea of having an auction house but at same time also hated it, i love it since if you want to buy something, you can insta buy it even with the player being offline, as long as they place these items, but at same time i hated the auction house as 1, you need to pay like tax in retrieving the sales, 2 if the auction house got like duration per item listed its a hassle to keep posting it everytime it expire, 3 players can inflate the prices of some items to some degree....and compared to how WF operates its market, its basically stable, tho i hope sites like warframe market could auto hide people who hasnt been online to the site as its pretty annoying to find someone who sells at affordable price only to know they havent online or played the game....also having interactions with other players also is good as you get to befriend them, you can get someone to be your buyer for specific stuff, and lastly you can haggle prices, its basically enjoyable......and i do agree having too much plats makes you feel content and dont want to spend anymore, but same can be said with no plat, wants to earn more to spend on stuff
With Aleccaframe I just recently got more into trading. Its just so much qol to just click one button to sell your stuff. Also keeping track of all your sell and buy orders and your inventory
But what I got out so far is, that everything gets bought. I just made 300+ plat in 2 days. My most expensive trade was a max galvanized elementalist for 80plat.
People buy everything. Stuff you normally grind, gets bought.
You can even sell a max rank flow and people buy it. Its actually really easy to get plat, when you want.
Warframe market:
Prime frame 90 plat...
One hour later-
Same frame is 35 plat
One hour later-
Same frame is now 70 plat
One hour later-
Same frame is now 30 plat
20 minutes later-
Same frame is now 90 plat on the market, stays this way till now, maybe 89 or 88 from undercutting...
In game people message ing me when I put it for 75 in trade chat when I see this-
"it's 30 plat, get your prices right, check the market you idiot, you shouldn't be playing this game....(34 different people messaged me with similar messages over the span of 5 hours, I had been looking at the market reloading the page every 10 minutes within those 5 hours, frame was still 85-90 plat....
Explain to meeee
Even the wtb section ppl were asking for the set and offered 80 plat, recent posts too
Great video! I think you should interchange between this kind of video and the usual builds
Probably will, or cover a variety of topics weapons included!
Every scammer who ask for insane prices. Get ignore. I bought Wisp for 45 plat. Nova for 85 plat. Everyone in chat wanted 800 for them.
Whats funny about that is before prime reemergence is frames that were in the vault was going for that much and higher. Back in like 2016 frost and ember were like 1200 plat.
I remember buying revenant prime for like 30p a couple months ago and I look in trade chat and see someone selling him for 150p. Shits crazy and they just sit there the entire day waiting for someone to buy it too
Y'all remember Ignis Wraith?
I remember Ignis Wraith.
This takes me back to like 4 years ago some trade chat mf asking 4k plat for Nova Prime set just because it had been vaulted for a while. Maybe worth at most 400p-500p at the time
Off topic but wisp is the best frame and I will die on this hill.
A way to use those for something else would be great because right now all we got is turning mods into endo and prime parts into ducats.
the all white enrgy colour is a crime against humanity (and my eyes at 2am)
The economy is not brokem. Its just changes like normal economys irl also do.
I gave up on platinum, that market crash hit hard.
But even with that the large chunk of plat likely never leaves their inventory or it goes to other platinum whales which do the same thing.
i have 100% positive trade so far and i already playeed this game for years, it's a good day to be part of warframe community
i will say, i love the platinum coupons (yes coupons) for plat deals and granted i held out until i landed a 75% off and got $200 of plat for $50 bucks. love that aspect. I do like how you need to do research as well as it adding unpredictability. there is thing ive bought hoards of to let them build up in price and then it just never happening almost a year later which sucks but meh
Aya wrecked the economy, prime resurgence ruined my sales man, I make a fraction of what I used to, I made consistent plat, around 5k a day, when resurgence released I took a break, I'm back and everythings gone to shyte, I barely make 800 a day now, it's really difficult to be f2p and new to the game, I actually feel bad for any new players, warframe market used to be a joke back then and now everyone is using it and is undercutting everyone else, no more stable prices or willing buyers that don't wanna low ball you or scam you, frames and weapons prices were based on wether their vaulted or not and how long they were vaulted for, 90% of the people that I interacted with could agree on prices, now everyone thinks your a joke for using an average price instead of the lowest one on the market at that exact time
So you’re a scalper complaining you can’t make money like you used to? Seems like a good thing to me
@fob911 no, I never really baught and resold anything nore did I over charge for anything, and if people asked me to lower the prices by like 10 or 20 plat I would with now issue, but that was because I knew that I'd still be making a decent amount, now it's close to nothing, the reason most of my things sold quick was because I was slightly undercharging
@@fob911 also, I actually used to get requests from clan leaders to farm 20 to 40 sets of a frame over 2 weeks every few months because of how fair my prices were and I actually farmed every set myself and made the trades on time, it was really fun and it was well worth it for the plat, the real scalpers are the people buying "prime junk", bow clan leaders are asking me to farm the same frames but give them away for much much much less and I just feel like it isn't worth my time anymore, the return isn't worth it anymore in my eyes
albreich said dump it soooo we dump it
The pricing in trade chat differs from region to region.
I'm L4 with everything n nothing to get or do
Thankfully I invested in sentient surge during naberus when I could get it for free, so now all I have to do is wait lol
Also if you want to buy platnum just wait, you'll pretty reliably get atleast a 50% off coupon atleast once a month from dailies.
I got 12,900 plat for 90 euro's
I'm not paying almost 200 for 4300 plat
Warframe has had a reverse inflation.
If WF market was integrated into the game we’d have the riven auction feature too. Would be pretty nice to have the lich and sister trading as well
I like this kind of videos. As a WF veteran myself, I would welcome a auction house, but I doubt DE will ever bring this to the game. Because it makes it super easy for ppl to earn lazy pl
I hope they don't honestly, but I wanted to entertain the idea since it's always been discussed exclusively on the forums, as opposed to a full video.
I’ve not played something with an auction house but if it behaves similar to how the market site works I’d absolutely wish something like that would be added I remember early being scammed outta a nataruk riven not understanding it’s worth cause i didn’t know any place to compare prices
@@buttertoto378it's kind of like WF market but you just click and it trades, no need for a trade post or invites
It would be nice for material x material between dojo members but not for plat
I needed a Titania Prime Systems and WFM was selling for 50 but got it from trade chat for 36
As legend 2 i want auction in WF i dont have time for ingame trades, i have 250+ lots on market its hell
I like negotiation part and even trade chat idea is okey to me but i hate i need to leave my current mission and go to dojo for trade
Interesting to see how different regions have different problems with the economy
It's Chinese and farming r crazy there 45 ducat is worth 2 plat here down from 3 they r kinda hardcore too like there r few dedicated agents for relic cracking with relic suplier
Real ish, we NEED an Auction House.
Like...a year or 3 ago. I know WFmarket exists but it isn't in-game. Just...combine them.
what i really hate about the market is how i farmed wisp for like hours and now her better version is sold for like 30p 😢
The biggest issue with the economy in warframe is misinformation, which is why DE won't make any market of any sort in which you can compare prices because new players or people who don't want to use WFMarket will use and therefore buy more platinum
Quote on quote "If it was centralized then prices would be more far" If it was centralized prime warframes would basically be unbuyable do you see their actual warframe prices? most of them are between 180 - 350
I meant, because there is no one else to set prices, there really wouldn't be a metric for "fair."
