I'm a Nissan Fairlady Z / GTR / Silvia fan and that mustang earns my respect. It's a clean well tuned (hot rod muscle- well whatever you want to call it) build vs straight from the factory. GTR's are nice but it's nothing compared to a properly tuned street/track car.
And one thing I like about this video is that these guys did it with class. By renting out a track and running these fast cars on a track is a lot safer than doing it on the street.
So funny. Iron pushrod engine, solid-axle, 26 YEARS OLD, loud, no anti-lock, no traction control, no blackbox, etc AND STILL MUTHAFUCKIN RELEVANT with Classic status!! You gotta love it - Fox Bodies All Day!
And a FORD 4R70W trans. Some say they can be built pretty stout, and you can keep OD for the highway. Never seen many built myself, but 8's at almost 3700 lbs is damn impressive. Another thing, she spooled up pretty quick too 👍

I have a 88 gt just as clean almost same setup, dart 331 76mm precision made almost 900whp on 22lbs. Would line up with this car for $1000 or more. Ran a 9.46@144mph on 17lbs so turned up id try it. Love the car man.

FYI that is NOT a stock Ford 302 Windsor motor. That is an aftermarket Dart 331 stroker block based on the Ford one. The stock Ford 302 Windsor can only handle 450-500 crank hp before it splits in half.
This old rumor never dies. I made about 650 on a SBE 302 with a turbo. My friend did about 550-600. There are many other examples of 5.0's (the Fox based pushrod "weak" engines) making as much, sometimes more. Sure some can break, maybe some castings are weaker, maybe some people aren't savvy at making an engine live with extra power, but saying they "can only handle 450-500 crank hp before it splits in half" is BS.
Holy crap that's palm beach international race way. I live right by there my dad races a prostock car there on t/s nights or quick 16's he runs like 6 second quarter mile and a 4 second 8th mile. I really wish you guys would come out there on a night when they have a t/s race or quick 16 you will see the real fast ones there. And can get some footage of my dads car.
