i had to slow down the video hehehe. but yes, the index finger holds a huge amount of power. It's what I use to initiate the racket rotation. I have mentioned this in the past, but may need to do a proper video on it.
@badminton4kids I've tried to copy it. Do you get a feeling like a pressure point there? Almost as if you're focusing the force there then pushing the racket off the finger?
hmmm i use my index finger alot. so i might need to figure out how to do a video on this. please comment in ua-cam.com/video/APHEGD6t9vI/v-deo.html so i can make a video
Stick smash is mostly a wrist and forearm swing. Mind you there's a continuum between a full smash and a stick smash so you can do smashes that are part way between the two to varying degrees. But in general, a full smash involves loading the upper body and hips and generating body rotation while a stick smash doesn't. An easier way to think about when you'd do a stick smash is to jump out completely sideways away from your racket arm and try to smash... you'll likely have to just use forearm to swing.
This is one of my problems, I start my elbow high like you said but then as I move forward to smash my elbow bends and the contact point got low.
Many do. I was once like this as well
Thank you for the tip, I always smash with my arms being 90 degrees bended instead of being fully stretched and maximazing my contact point
ua-cam.com/video/gwDNZsEEvJ4/v-deo.html. lots of beautiful actions here. and you can really see how high they drive their elbows.
Nice tips
@@ciptojohn thank you
at 3:26 you show the stick smash, the index finger comes off the handle. Is the finger doing something to drive the movement?

Whats the difference between full smash and stick smash here? It looked the same
much short swing, especially the back swing.
stick smash more emphasis on the wrist. There's no full back swing like coach said.

I love the community how we are all helping each other
In other words, its a racquet swing not a shoulder swing. Thats how I see it
the should would move first, and then elbow and hand and fingers.
