Our badminton family journey as the kids learn love, and improve their badminton skills.
There are lots of badminton coaching and training videos, but none are targeted at kids. So we thought we would share our journey, our successes and mistakes, and we hope we can help other children improve and fall in love with this wonderful sport.
I will try to share with you in-depth and technical tips to help both amateurs and advanced players. There will be lots of fun activities and excursions. There are just so many neat things about badminton that I would love to share so I cannot wait to make many more badminton tutorial and badminton teaching videos for kids and adults alike.

i dont think the wrist at 7:42 correct. As you rotate your wrist, your forearm has to be engaged and rotate as well isn't it.
Could i please watch you playing
Give more focus to the left arm pulling back and also right hip rotation up to 90 degree
Yes that will be part of the learning eventually
The name of channel is wrong.. it should be Badminton for everyone
Badminton for all?
Sir please start slowly about basics of covering the full court also. One side at a time perhaps👏👏
@@donnyrocks8155 I will teach this once lin my wife master this rotation
Right👍
Great explanation as always🥳🙏
Thank you
With the two triangles you can also lift to the back at the last moment with almost the same action
yes thats correct. but that is for another lesson :)
Suggestion! Put the tips in the middle of the screen with translucent background. It it hard to see is in a corner on a tv as the screen is bigger
thank you

I’ll try that next time, thanks for the suggestion!
Hi , i am a badminton player , but have learnt lot of bad habits throught my years. Would you please give tips and how to improve ? I would really love yo hear your advice
its hard for me to comment without seeing your swing
@badminton4kids is there any way we can connect , I'd love to hear your advice
very good instruction, small corrections make a huge difference
Thank you
Nice demonstration. Why the lift of the knee on racket side?
Park.. i want to know too
ok stay tune, im going to the hall, i will make a video on this and share today with you :)
To learn balance
yes, sir. i've been playing for about a year and seeing some improvement but recently i've stumbled upon some inner elbow pain. i know that my swinging techniques are wrong, micro ones to be exact, causing the unnecessary pain; so i am taking a week off just to figure it out and practise the right way. yesterday, i found out that my not relaxing the grip after the swing is the cause of the pain. now it feels like a fresh start practising this short swing, soft hand - squeeze - soft hand again. but it feels so much better knowing i am going on the right track. love your demonstration. it's a sub!
That's great to hear you're figuring things out!
Wonderful instruction.
Thank you
We do that in table tennis but you have 3 tries to hit the other person 🏃♂️💨
haha I cant do that against my own daughter.
Thanks 😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent
Thank you! Glad you think so.
That's not what tennis elbow is though...
Let me change the title to be more suitable :)
@badminton4kids cool, tennis elbow is a real pain in the butt so when I clicked on this short I thought it'd help me haha
You got it from badminton?
@@badminton4kids yup, it's the only sport I play. I was experimenting with high tensions and that probably did it. At least now I know my limits (I'm mostly healed)
I have gone through worlds coaches videos and did a lots of comparisons and all differ with their opinions.
i guess this is why some players like to have multiple coaches to learn different perspectives. I dont pretend to be the one stop shop :) still learning.
Brilliant explanation Most players fail on recovery due to reaction time.
Glad you think so!
God bless you and your family. Thank you for very simple teaching. I am 52 just started playing 4 years ago. Still learning.
Thanks! It's never too late to learn.
👍for coach and player :)
hehe thank you
I have seen few of these in Auckland but couldn’t find any in Nz based stores. Can you please share the link of the product ?
oh you are in NZ?
Yeah I’m.
Finger at back not bad habit?
sorry what do you mean by finger at back?
@badminton4kids thumb. It limits the wrist, but might be part of progression learning
hmmm, for backhand, this is a very typical thumb grip.
Child so cute.
ta ta :)
where did you buy it ? can you share a link :) thx great content keep it going with the kids and also you adulttraining :)
on temu
search badminton picker
Ägain great content please keep it comming the kids training :) we don't find many vids that gives good examples on kids training and practice exercises !!
Thank you Will do. Teaching kids is completely to teaching adults and I know many do struggles with that.
I am not a kid, but it helps me a lot :) thank you
heghe you are big kid :)
I always think form is the most important a weak person with very good form has more power than a strong person with bad power
I agree completely
very delicate teaching with minute explanation No one does this type of grip teaching. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words, I hope the grip helps you!
You are the best
Hehe thank you
Nice product, where do you buy your shuttles?
Actually I just grab left over shuttles after league and games. And sometimes I ask local clubs and groups.
Sweet kid :)
Yes she is
Hello! Thanks for making this video, I also watched your position 0 video for front court preparation and you explain the concepts very well. Will you be doing another video more in detail about the number 1 setup?
I will next week for you. For each of the various positions. I'm glad my system is catching on hehe
Is there a full vid for this?
yes there is, but i will make another one, as i realised there are 3 types of split steps, well in my eyes anyway :) others can disagree hehe
nice vid
Thank you
Hi binh
Helloooo :)
@badminton4kids I'm landon
Nice and quick, and very simple example. A great resource for coaching young students. Keep them coming please.
Thanks, will do! Many mire to come
Thank you for sharing mate, It is important that the kids enjoy, Being a coach and parent at the same time is quite hard. My son (9 year old) is so competitive that he starts crying as soon as he looses few points. Kids talk, listen and try to imitate us as parent and as I was the best player that he knew, He was trying to be the best in his group and when he fails he starts crying. Slowly as he played more and more he understood that it was part of the game.
sounds like you guys are in similar situation as us :)
Hi, I have a small question. Do the three fingers push back to create the squeeze while thumb supports or does thumb slightly flick forward to create the snap while fingers support?
the thumb goes forward as well, while the other fingers pull back, so you have two forces working together for more power :)
@ Thankyou so much!
This is such great training. The stages are broken down so clearly that it helps me to understand exactly what I should be doing whereas others’ coaching leaves me not understanding how or why I’m having difficulty or not doing the right action. Your coaching is excellent.
Glad it was helpful! Would love to hear your progress as you learn these moves.
10/10 advise coach
thank you.
Could the wrist bend at the end of the swing potentially cause a wrist injury? I started to gravitate to the other way with the racket facing out because I didn't want to bend my wrist so much and just rely on pronation at contact.
That bending at the end is really about learning allow the racket to rotate at the top of the swing. As you get better you control this rotation in a way to prevent injury, mainly through the rotation of the forearm. For beginners, i tend to teach this flopping technique to get through this idea of squaring up the racket, and do exercise where we dont concentrate on power.
@badminton4kids Ah gotcha so in an actual game we wouldn't flop the wrist but keep it a little straighter?
I thought my 3 year old with a Junior racket and a balloon and as he got better I let the balloon down so it moved faster then introduced the shuttle, so nice to see kids taking the game up 👏
I'm going to setup a time where it will be just him and I and train and play consistently. Hopefully he will improve lots
your font covers up the message.
i hear you. need to learn these software and change settings. thank you for your feedbacks
Super Great content please keep it going with these exercises with the kids. This is soooo valuable !! thx alot and can't wait to see new content :) great explanation and step by step instructions !!
I'm glad. I was not sure if anyone would watch the kids videos :)
@@badminton4kids Hi there is a need 4 it, you only find trainingprograms for adults but kids training is more challenging because you need to break down the training and be aware of their age and progression level :) so yes please go on also with your adults :)
And i had one problem when ever i hit smash or straight short im not using proper technique which hurt me biceps
biceps? thats very unusual.
And im having wrong rotations of angles
rotation of what angles please?
Please help us with foot work plsss
will do
