I don’t think there will be any issues because people who hold a UAE residence visa can live outside the UAE for six months continuously.

Try to find a job, if you get an employment contract your employer will guide you further, since you were in the country before new visa updates.

Yes you can change tourist to residency visa if you have a local sponsor.
when will the new rules be fully implemented?
The changes and fees structure is announced on 3rd of October. It would continue based on the application, extension and renewal and eventually follow the full implementation.

For now All types of visit and tourist visas can be extended for 30 days twice, upon applying for it and after successful approval by the relevant authority. This can be done without the need to leave the country.

Visit visa can’t be extended more than 2 times, as per new law there are some terms and conditions about extension.

IT industry jobs are fast moving in Dubai and Feb is a very good time to come on a job exploration visa.
Green visa is granted for skilled workers without the need of an employer or local sponsor. Freelancers, self-employed and skilled employees can apply for a Green visa.

Labor contract is different than employment visa. An organization needs cancellation of existing visa and an employment contract to process new employee visa.

Congratulations on the new job. It’s generally a smooth process- once you complete your notice period, your visa cancellation process is initiated after your last working day by the company. Cancellation than sent to new employer for processing the new employment visa.

The grace period has been extended to 6 months but you must contact GDRFA - 8005111 to understand its application as per your contractual agreement.

You are only allowed to extend your 90 day visit visa twice. You will be granted a maximum extension of 60 days although unlimited renewal (in country visas can be done no need to exit the country). If you decide to extend your visa on the last day, you will pay a cost of 100 AED, you should ensure that you have renewed your visa before it expires.

The UAE government has launched different types of visas as I mentioned in the video. The first visit visa option is 60 days (you can only renew your visit visa for two times maximum. You will have a maximum of 60 days extension. If you extend the visa on the last day, you will have to pay a fee of 100 AED. Therefore, you need to make sure you have renewed your visa even before it expires.)
The second option is 5 year multiple entry tourist visa. Application fee is $408 with other terms and conditions.

I had my employer apply my visa this month. How long would it take to approve? So that i can start working already. Im an expat applying for a job there in uae. My employer told me that it had 2 rejections upon applying for visa. What could be the problem?
Employment Visa approval should not take more than a week. There could be any reason for rejection of visa but company PRO has to visit the immigration office for understanding them and resolving the matter.

Five-year multi-entry tourist visa does not require a sponsor. It allows the visitor to stay in the country up to 90 continuous days, provided that the entire period of stay does not exceed 180 days in one year. This visa requires proof of having a bank balance of US$4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies during the six months prior to submitting the application. As per the information mentioned on the service card on the GDRFA website, the five-year multiple entry visa will cost Dh1500 (USD 408).
