Can I get out of novices?! Trackday riding tips with a TT legend (sort of)

Despite being one of the more handsome motorbike UA-camrs, I'm pretty cack on track - so I enrolled the unpaid help of Adam 'Chad' Child - a legendary UK motorbike journalist, ex-IoM TT racer and all-round exquisite human being. Could he help me get out of novices and into inters? Would my addiction to the Dominos Texas BBQ (with stuffed crust +£2 surcharge) be my undoing? Could I survive the 38C heat? Good luck getting out of novice. I’ve seen some of the intermediate groups with the track day club I occasionally ride with. Some of those jokers ride like they’re going to win a trophy or something. I always preferred novice so I could ride at my own pace. 😅

I feel like I can move up to inters at brands, having been there twice. I still think I'd join the novice group at each new track I visit though...

Absolutely - that makes sense. Somehow I've never ridden or driven Brands (in real life)

@@timrodierides I did the GP circuit most recently, and loved that. Done the Indy so many times (in the car), but bike trackdays are a lot more involving. I need to try some more circuits on the bike next year though... I really fancy donnington now!

@@lordgibbness Donington is a beauty - so many flowing high-speed bits. I could give or take the Melbourne loop, so I wouldn't be upset if my next trackday was on the short circuit!

You spoil it for everyone in the novice group when you clearly are faster than them. Get them all in panic mode knowing they have you and your tiny little pal screaming up the inside of them.
