Tim you soggy schnitzel! Sorry the weather put play to a more daft riding style, but glad you had a good time regardless. The scenery looked epic, and even without that no doubt it was lovely just enjoying the freedom of being out on two wheels, with a mate, exploring pastures new. Please could you post a loose route trace when you’re all done - just to give those who’d like to do something similar a head-start to plan from. Cheers mate 😃👍🏼
Fantastic escapism Tim! The 500 70kph speed limit is miserable, so avoiding it is the best way these days 👀 You always remember the bits with good weather on any trip 😀 (Even to Wales)
Another great video, Tim! :) Made me giggle because, your excitedness and "stream of consciousness" reminds me very much of myself on trips (and that which makes my wife's eyes roll... ;) :D :D ) Good to see the good 'ol Schwarzwald routes again, shame about the moistness... always fun though! :D
Great episode Tim, you might want to check your policy, most say you can ride other peoples bikes provided they are insured but this normally only applies to riding in the UK. Bit late now I know and your policy may be different but it is what is normally covered in a standard UK motor policy.
Awesome... Kässchbäddzla, how natives call 'em. Never have eaten Schnitzel tho, they are just to keep tourists from the island away the good stuff like Rote or Bauern (what are sausages). 👍 😀
Yeah - to be fair we actually saw basically no police in our entire time in the Black Forest, and we were there on a weekend. But we were being good boys!
That's great to hear haha! Just remember to stick it in rally mode and set traction control to about 2 or 3 (once you're used to it, of course). Properly unleashes the beast!
Agree with you, So much more in the BF other that the B500, loved it when i was there in august on the new Triumph Tiger 1200 👍 check out my trip also was epic, 7 days also Switzerland - great video Tim, hope the weather improves for you 👌
Tim, thanks for this: ua-cam.com/video/EWGaXIlMfWU/v-deo.html The guys and I are doing a week in the Voges next week and it turns out my "Tour of the Voges" middle day was going right past this anyway and I (and I know a few others" will want to stop off here, so many thanks for alerting me to it's existance! :)
@@timrodierides Indeed. The problem I have always had is not enough time to do several days touring JUST the Voges, plus then several days JUST touring the Black Forrest!!!! (we usually only have time for one or ther other, or just passing through both...) I'm hoping winning the lottery or early retirement is the fix for that (and all other bike trips that are always far too short!!!!) ;)
@@timrodierides I've been exploring the Voges for years and still need to explore more! ;) There are SO many great roads and sights to see, it's a never ending task! Did some great exploring there the other week and found some great new roads to add to the database, need to go back again!!!! :) Really glad this time we took the time to go see the Linge memorial, what an amazing but also shocking place! The war cemeteries round the corner at both ends of that road were also quite something to see.
Sorry it's so long
Nonsense - it's the perfect length! ;) :D (P.S. Niedermorschwihr, FTW! ;) :D (the lovely town))
Good length, shipmate.
Stopped for coffee & cake in that 50's petrol station in August, fantastic find. Also crossed the Rhine at Marklesheim, thanks for the memories 🏍
Watching your Black Forest trip. Have you got any routes you could share, we are looking to ride through Black forest next year. Thanks
Tim you soggy schnitzel!

Thanks P! Soggy schnitzel made me spit my bratwurst out. I'll try and post a loose route when I've finished the series. Only 2 more to go now…
Done the B500 a few times over the years & done at least 135mph on most of it :)
I had a great day there on my Blackbird in the early 2010s… feels a bit un-PC these days to talk about it 😂
When I was there in July I misread the B500 limit sign as 170kph! That's my story and I'm sticking to it officer :)
What beautiful scenery. I need to see this part of the old continent for myself
Fantastic escapism Tim!

Absolutely! Yeah, I imagine the B500 has just been ruined by people taking the mick...
Mattnav routes FTW. You are 100% correct about the Black Forest. The B500 is now to be avoided unfortunately
Epic scenery. So good to watch I almost forgot to post a comment 👍
Haha well thank you for remembering!

always great to get away on your bikes.. I've done B500 a few times on the way to Switzerland and the alps... keep up the good work :-)
Thank you very much! I need to get back to Switzerland… it's beautiful but requires a certain level of self control!
Hi Tim. Love the voges and black forest. Been loads of times, was better years ago when not as heavy with police and speed limits.
Yeah - to be fair we actually saw basically no police in our entire time in the Black Forest, and we were there on a weekend. But we were being good boys!
Delighted to see Leafy is still hanging on
Leafy's still on my bike (which I still haven't washed since we got back)
@@timrodierides Spent two hours sorting Terry, he's spotless.
Your German is quite good and really funny for a native speaker. Geile Tour!
It’s good to see you staying on a strict diet while you’re on your short holiday 😃. (That call from you gym might need a return when you get home 🤪!)
Haha, sadly I'm still as ill as I was on this trip. I'll get back there as soon as I can…
Nice drive
What is the road number?
It's all your fault just paid a deposit on a SAS this morning. Love the videos and channel
Have fun. I just took ownership of mine last Friday and it is pretty great

@@timrodierides Hi Tim just taken delivery of my new steed happy days.
Peeps who do these vids are great but if you put link to a list of rd numbers and towns you pass thru it would be easier for anyone wanting to do them
Good stuff.
Thanks!

I've never had a gym call me why I haven't been in a month. Very posh.
It's far from posh - I think I've caught several diseases from it in the past 😂
A world of far superior roads in that region
Agreed
💯💯👍👍
