🤙great video , nice b5 s4 in the background

Great informative video £650 for o rings is daylight robbery

Love ❤️ your videos you did the right thing
I'm sure Dean from saving salvage has a rs6 v10 give him a bell about buying his
Thanks
Proud of the Stenhøj hoist. Greetings from Denmark
As a latvian watching this it is nice to hear that some local guys are also helping you out! Small remark - we ourselves see Latvia as northen europe not eastern europe 😂 keep up the good work!
Dont get to excited:D That company is from Lithuania .
@@mjso87 oh okay :D greetings to braljukas!
Thanks for keeping us updated Thomas, as always great content 👍🏻
Super project, for the enigne Block:
1: buy the Block from sweeden the crank came from
2: hone the cylinders from the Original Block, with bigger piston rings?
One way or another im shure ur gonna pull trough, u got all my support, cheers from Norway 😁
The " V10 tax" on V10 parts is brutal.
RS tax is a nightmare as it is, but the C6 V10 RS tax is crazy 😂
on top of the Audi tax
Lambo tax
£600 for some gaskets..... Good lord I feel your pain buddy. 😢
was it for the ones from Sweden? What type of gaskets are those? You could buy custom-made gaskets for less
Awesome video. & fantastic project. Keep up the good work!
Interesting video still, keep up the nice work :)
Pozdrav z CR,,, Dzim ti palce
Great update, keep your chin up.
Hope to see this car up and running soon , wish u all the best with it
Nice little update Thomas. Bummer sending the block and then finding out the potential extra costs if you went ahead. Hope you get it all back and nothing gets lost in the Euro zone😂. You will soon be around the £1 million mark😉 looking forward to the next installment 🤟
Good luck with the build.
Could watch this every day mate! Time for a netflix series!
Tough luck. Hope it gets better.
Cheer up your getting there
You will do a proper job its in your hands, great video once again 😁
Seems like build like this will be around 30-40k 😦
Great video’s by the way.
Big bhp => Big numbers = Big smile 😁
Lol you forgot big bux
was waiting for this!
First time is see you without hat. Great hair :)
Check in Poland, on Allegro there are at least 2 v10 engines available.
Loads of decent companies in the UK that can sleeve blocks. But do check the bottom end first 😅
Stenhøj 💪🏻
Happens all the time. I sent stuff back to Slovakia all the time. Always something missing. Or, the whole package missing. Stuff my cousins, nieces, nephews. Gone.
£££££££££££ Crazy Prices.
Consider upgrading your drive shafts, Cal from Calvin's car diary shredded his & his were nowhere near 1khp
U need to do some sort of a video on a B5 RS4- The sexiest Avant Audi has made
mate, i love what you guys do at the shop , have you considered putting in a american LS GM motor that can give you lots of power and reliability, or a Ford coyote flat plane crank with a beautiful sound . Both engines can give you 1000bhp . Cheers from Toronto Canada
Not easy to swap engines to modern (EURO emissions rated) cars in Europe.
I want to donate to the project, but can't right now. I like this project. Maybe in a few weeks I can spare some coin.
Check Copart in Bristol. One S6 V10 for sale. 5 days left. Only 500 at the moment. :)
I Need RS
Video Good
Maybe you should reach out to FCP Euro in the states. They may know where a good block/crank is.
The C6 RS6 was never available for the American market. It's a 5 litre not the 5.2.
Kinda think a running v10 would have been a better option, even though the engine needs to be stripped and parts replaced. Given the shear amount of damage with the non-runner the cost can't be that much apart to address the issues?
10k difference in price
Good God !! What did that Machine shop think they would measure putting the Crank in that old lathe ? It was not even turning true 😳 If you don't have a couple of V-blocks just momt it in the Old Block with just the Front and rear Bearings - Buy a DTI and measure it yourself.
That Block looked like direct Nikasil - You sure it's strong enough to take Liners?
That Motor has been Unloved and abused are you sure there there is any part of it undamaged ? I would forget your dreams for a high RPM Engine Just Find another Motor and build it up with a little more boost which would suite that Heavy car Better (IMHO)
Good luck to you anyway - at least your Having a go 👍
You want me to send it to you ?
@@VAGTechnic 😀 I'm afraid I can't do much for you, but I've had a good bit of experience with Liner issues in Alloy blocks and they were Simpler4 Cylinder normally aspirated Engines. That V10 Block and Headgasket seal will be the best as it comes from Audi. parallel liners can move and stepped liners can crack and all this without considering the possibility of the Block Cracking or distorting when the liners are fitted.
Those Motors are way beyond most people to repair due to cost of parts and Labour - There must be a few out there that have just run BE bearings with servicable Blocks. I didn't hear that Audi Nikasil had problems like BMW did.
What’s the link to OEM Parts? TIA!
Just listening to all that gave me Anxiety. 😮
Speak to saving salvage he has an rs6 sat doing nothing. Also won't you need upgraded fuel pump? Brakes? Suspension? Bushes? Diffs? Drive shafts?
Tbc
@@VAGTechnic yeah the guy from saving salvage he has an rs6 v10 twin turbo the car is running but smokey and he said is looking to sell it or to do something whit rs6, is seating for couple years now, have a chat with him, maybe you can have a deal with him
Can you post link for OEM parts? Thanks…
+
Where are you from in Slovakia ? I worked in Kosice rebuilding the runway at letisko Kosice in 1992 !😂 good memories
From south West under Nitra
@@VAGTechnic nice I remember that time very skilled mechanics and electricians could fix any equipment which broke down, not like today just replace with new parts just same yourself !1 well done
2 500 hp electric motors and a big ass battery…. And bobs your uncle.
What have you done with your old thermostat housing
I don't know if he's still got it, but do you think Dean's RS6 from saving salvage youtube channel has done too many miles for spares for the crank!?
His has done hellish mileage I think it's near 215k miles last MOT and yeah he still has it.
I sense a bit of regret.....hope it all goes well.....
You just wait for next episodes 😂
First l love what you do, but wouldn’t it have been “ sensible “ to get the block and crank first before spending such a huge amount on parts? Those prices are ridiculously high for gaskets.
Im an idiot so you have to take in to count that as well …
@@VAGTechnicI have a spare crankshaft
How much € for the damaged bare block? May make a table out of it 🙃
So cool, better invite me to your pad! I’ll bring my S8 V10
Maybe reach out to Rick at RE performance. He may be able to assist you bud 👍🏼
He did. Did you watch video??
Do u ever use lll parts ?
Better to ship to someone in EU and get them to drive with parts over tbh.
Is the engine block specific to this RS6 model or is it the same as Audi R8/Lamborghini V10’s? Might be worth checking Copart auctions for crashed cars. Keep the engine block and then recover some money by selling parts you don’t need from it.
Different
It has more in common with 5 litre Gallardo(but 300-400 components different as turbo charged) than the 5.2 engine.
Nothing surprising about the prices, if you want it, they know you'll pay it 🤑
Have you considered if the stock gearbox and diffs can handle 1000bhp?
Yes
what company will do the custom map ? I've seen you not a fan of MRC and many tuners in UK.
Mallory performace
I feel bad for you getting an engine that bad. I think the 1000bhp project is a fun idea but it also seems a bit low these days. If you think about the fact that you can buy 4 door cars that make this power today.
I hope you get it right in the end and get the result you're looking for 👍
What 4 door car has 1000 hp that's not electric?
@@martytdd1606 You are right.. combustion only there are only a few production cars like the Challenger SRT Demon 170. I guess it's tough to sell these with warranty. In the electric world it's not as difficult.
Ayyyyy I must have missed seeing this video get posted by a couple minutes, cause I just checked thinking "hmmm it's been a while since the last update".
This Thing is Gonna Get you down. Let it go, sometimes its just not a good idea.
build a B9 RS5 and go mega viral
hey maybe you and Barum Engines (youruber in UK) can do a collaboration
Hell no ,lee is allways bitching about something gone wrong, but not my fault
Are you going to upgrade the clutch?
This is a great car! I owned a black one with a stage 1 tune years a go.
But this swedish guy from who you bought cranck, do he have a block also?
If you do not find new block, you can always use 1,9 TDI 66kw engine, which is known as good reliable and will serve you many years coming!
Why didn't you get into contact with Lee at Barum Engines he has a UA-cam channel see what he would have charged for the liners.
Knowing UK prices is properly cheaper to send it to Europe even considering the shipping costs.
Hey.🎉.are you gonna b running stock ECU?or aftermarket ECU
Brexit strikes again. 😅
😀 24/7 problems
Nothing to do with brexit, it's Donald Trump, climate change and the 'far right' 🤪
putting that crank in a old lathe to measure Run out with that vintage Mitutoyo dial indicator is not how you determine if the thing is bent and the Con Rods you have brought are Junk.
Thank you for your opinion , anyways …
And where exactly do you need a Mitutoyo when you can see it with your eyes?? 😂
@@rkan2 I need them all! with original
Factory calibration Certificates
uh, uh!!
Brexit .. still winning eh ..
expensive hobby...
there is old man in my country. Tbilisi Georgia. who can restore any type of bend crankshaft. he restored my crancshaft for 3.0 tfsi it was 28.000 something bend and restored for 150$ you can send or show him the damaged video and he will tell if he can do that
my crank was stacked in encgine because of overheat of engine everything was in very bad shape. i bought every part except the crankshaft cause of the old man he is really master of master
Thanks!
