      Really pleased to of helped, once New forks are fitting its like a difference of night and day, the bike is completely transformed, you must also remember to add the sticky foam to the battery as that rattles so much, it also makes it all far more worth while when getting positive feedback so thanks for taking the time commenting which is greatly appreciated.....mrix

    Hello!
    I have experience building and customizing bikes so I know your work on this bike is great! To you: Respect!
    Let me ask you a couple of questions:
    After thoroughly researching Chinese folding bikes, I'm thinking of buying a Beast ADO, because of the high torque, torque sensor and hydraulic brakes (yes, I know all the equipment on this type of bikes is not the best but in this case I hope neither the worst)
    1- I understand that on this bike the fork and brakes are not the worst in this category, obviously your choice is much better, of course. Regardless of the transformations you have done, how is the quality of this bike after a few months? Is it so reliable and as robust as it looks?
    2 - I want to use it daily to go to work (7 to 17 km (4.5 to 10.5 miles), and the same to return, depending if I go by train or not) Most of the road is good, but some is in bad condition or is it a track. After 53 years of hard work and thousands of miles pedaling in the worst places, my back doesn't like bumps. At the same time, my piggy bank is locked up in ridiculously expensive folding e-bikes with wonderful rear suspensions. So I have a problem that I intend to solve with a fat tire and maybe a suspension seatpost, because I know that cheap rear suspension is bad business.
    Knowing this, would you recommend this bike?
    I know it's hard to advise a stranger because it could be a commitment, but don't worry, I just wanted some advice from a colleague, that's all.
    Many thanks in advance! (and sorry for my poor english)
    Greetings from Barcelona!

      Very kind of you and much appreciated, regarding your questions, I have now got my Bike pretty much to where I want it, its now so comfortable with the seat and seat stem suspension added, the bike is a lot bigger and heavier than expected its really heavy at 35 Kilos so its not something I would personally be able to take on a train or fold up and fit in my car etc, some tend to slate the brakes but I think they are suitable as I dont really want brakes that are too sharp etc. All in all you will need to pack the battery with some foam tape to stop a annoying rattle, you would then if you can afford it at some point change to air forks of some kind, for me the suspension for comfort has been brilliant! As for durability, we had many trips off road as we live in the New Forest and this was with the default forks and there was no issues... one thing I done to combat a puncture was to add the green slime you can purchase which has seemed to work so far... anymore questions please let me know....thanks again mrix

      Wow! 35kg!
      I've read the weight is 28kg, that is not a few, but 35.... could be too much. I think that it could be better a folding ebike with normal tires, not fat, because I need to place the bike in the elevator and in the train. I have to reconsider my choice. Thanks a million for your kind attention!

      @@mrix my original shocks are very bad. When the suspension fork rebounds, there is a metallic bang. Like she's coming out too quickly. Was that the same with you? LG Norman

    Thanks a lot, this is very helpful! The new forks change the geometry quite a bit, right? The new forks seem much longer than the original ones. Also, does the handlebar still fold as nicely as before?

    • @mrix
      @mrix  День тому +1

      Hi, yes the bike feels a little higher at the front which I dont dislike, its a really relaxed riding style and along with my suspension stem and seat its like riding a couch in comfort, from a cosmetic point of view since the change of the forks we have not known so many people look and stare and state how cool the bikes look, if you purchase one of these bikes you will need to replace the forks if you want more comfortable riding.
      All the very best...... mrix

      @@mrix Thanks for your quick reply! I already have that bike and changed a few parts, but still have the original forks. I have never changed the forks on a bike, but using your detailed tutorial, I think I'll be able to do it. Could you perhaps tell me whether the two 'pipes' of the new fork interfere with the folding mechanism in some way? Du to the design with the two horizontal bars (hope you know what I mean) they extend further upwards than the original ones. I don't suppose it is a problem for folding, but if it is, there are forks that look more like the original ones and I fold that bike often. Thanks again!

      To answer my own question, I don't think it's a problem for the folding mechanism after looking at it again. I'll report back after changing the fork!

      @mrix  7 місяців тому

      Hello that is correct the original caliper will not fit, in the video I do show how to use the original brake as it has the sensor for the brake which is important as it cuts the motor when applied .... mrix

    Thanks for this! Very concise video. Do you happen to know the weight of the original forks?

    • @mrix
      @mrix  7 місяців тому +1

      Hello and thanks, as I say its a long video but I could not really make it any shorter without losing important information etc, the original forks are very heavy for what they are at 2.6kg as opposed to the New double shoulder forks which look bigger / heavier but I believe them to be lighter, however I have not presently been able to find out the actual weight of the New forks I fitted...... mrix

      @@mrix Thanks for the reply. One more question, if I may? Did you go for the double crown style forks for the looks? Would a single crown fork still work with this bike? (Is the old threaded fork the same strength as non-threaded with this application)

    • @mrix
      @mrix  7 місяців тому +1

      Hello and sorry, I never got notified of this reply for whatever reason... anyway yes I thought the double shoulder forks simply looked better however they do work very well and myself and the wife are very pleased the change was made as the difference between is like night and day etc, the single crown fork would still work fine, the older style fork I would imagine is weaker still due to the threads cut into it, the quality of the default forks and bearing is very poor... mrix

      Hello the front Brake is a Clarks M2 Hydrolic brake and caliper which I purchased from a shop called Halfords in the UK which was the cheapest price I could find around the net at just £25 but you can obviously purchase them from other outlets www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-parts/bike-brakes/clarks-m2-hydraulic-brake-system-front-176267.html
