Great review ordered this today on the back of it!
Just to clarify some of your points.....
If you want a throttle and 350watt motor order the international version, this is only legal in the UK and EU when on PRIVATE LAND. ADO will send the throttle seperate.
If you want a EU or UK legal for UK roads and bike paths then order the EU version. EU or UK version can be unlocked, however it will never be able to use a throttle, apart from the cruise option (which is UK legal) and is around 3-5mph. You can however unlock the motor to 350watt to use for Pedal assist this will then make the bike illegal for UK use on roads or bike paths.
I contacted ADO before ordering because I work in Driver training, so I cannot afford to get 6 points on my licence if stopped by the Police. Which is the UK penalty for having a E bike that goes exceeds 250 watt and 15mph assisted
If you where to have a collision and cause harm, the bike may be taken away and tested to ensure it met UK law requirements. So Its not worth the risk unlocking IMO!

Hello, I have this bike for couple of days now & I'm really impressed. Brakes are perfect, fat toers are excellent. Weight is not that much for 100 kg strong guy like me ;)
120 km on one battery I don't know if it's true but on 1 supprt level with 1 setting on Shimano tube I got like 10 km distance for 8% of the battery (with sometimes 5 level support of handling hills & sometimes switching to higher at Shimano & support level).
I think ot can distance for me 90 km at 1 assistance & 1 setting on Shimano (I think for 100 kg guys it's a perfect score . I got it extra free battery to for ordering now this boke (they got promor for it). So I got 180 km (with no holding back & driving city with easy). Charging battery for me from like 10% to 100% was for around 5 hours of charging.
I did also a trip without a battery & only on Shimano support & ot was great experience. I didn't drive it bikes for 5 years & that was tough to handle at forst couple km for My legs but then got it everything set on 1 setting at shimano was perfect at start, then even 2 & 3 & at speeding I did even 6 setting & still feel comfortable!
I was thinking about ADO A20 Air, but... To small battery for big guy like me.
Only belt not Shimano system so that means you got only one setting on small toers & without energy in battery I bet it can be tough for legs to handle it.
Only think great for me that stand out was this "self repair" tiers at Air bike, bit they are not fat, that means driving at woods will be difficult & not Shimano there. That means when battery is out of energy you are on though situation there. & I don't know if Air got this amortization for fron like Beast have & that make a job done, with compare with fat tires make it a huge difference. It feels very comfortable to drive around, all not flat surface don't feel rough for you as a driver.
Also what I see it , very great on smaller tires is that it handke turing like a champ. On big tiers you cant be so comfortable with turning like in this bike. Also you feel safe on it, because it's not that small boke, and fat tiers make you feel steady.
& Magic happen when you folding this peace of art. It take so much small space. You can take ot everywhere, train, bus, car, whatever you need. You dont take that much space & you still feel compact with it.
One more this...did you imagine to drive woth make at the beach near see? Well...with this bike you got it, fat tiers, powerful motor & this excellent technology throttle sensor make ot huge difference. You can drive EVERYWHERE with it , no limits, only yours imagination (you can't do thinks like that woth Aor model , that is designed for city rides). So when you live neer woods, beach this bike open for you many possibilities that was not available before, trust me! ;)
    5/5 stars from me!

It's a pity they haven't put here any better derailleur, especially since it's supposed to be off-road-friendly, as the Tourney they're using is lowest tier in the Shimano stack, has no clutch and the chain is flying up and down, simply dangerously, when actively tackling non-smooth surfaces... even if they wanted to keep BOM low for better profit margins, there are variants from the likes of L-Twoo or Tektro, relatively cheaper but still known brands, that offer chain protecting clutch design for a few bucks more. At this price point, a Deore with clutch design would've made sense if one would want to stick to Shimano. Or maybe SRAM Eagle?
One extra niggle - pity it has cables routed below the frame instead of within... one more thing that might be cut or broken when those thick tyres fling the stones off-road. Or just an aesthetic aspect to keep them safely hidden out of harm's reach...
Alternatively, it'd be truly funny if they made it with a belt drive instead of this crappy lowest tier Shimano derailleur... that and a proper water protection and this thing would've been far more fun-oriented...
Or better yet, if they used this engine in the Air (Beast) with Air's wheels replaced by similar, maybe three-five blade/spoke, cast lightweight wheels. That'd be a blast at approx. 17-18 kilos and 60+Nm on tap in a foldable design!
Instead, the Beast comes with subpar if not crap-tastic derailleur even though ADO wants to paint the picture of upmarket offerings and high quality components used differentiating it from the othet chinese competition... and the Air comes with a relatively weak engine that was possibly chosen for its lowest cost and weight combo feature in the components on offer matrix.

Hi, we've had our Beasts for a few months and have covered 300kms on holiday now. Our bikes came with a throttle in the box, which I've installed and activated through the app for a hybrid drive. Its brilliant. Currently in hilly Portugal and on a mix of flat and steep hills with 16% and 20% gradients, using throttle and pedalling, we're easily achieving 1km per 1% charge. Only issue is that the fat tyres, give a higher ride height so its always out of the saddle to come to a halt. The added weight causes a few issues on restarts on a hill, especially for my wife. Ride quality is superb but front fork has poor rebound damping. If you can suggest a quality alternative and do a video on changing it, that would be fantastic. Regards, Paul Bassett

Great - but ADO still refuse to include rear racks on any of their ebikes. I assume it's hard to find a low-cost (non-seatpost) rear rack that can be easily fitted to that rear frame. And why do no ebike testers/reviewers EVER criticize this lack of racks? For the Nth time: ebikes are not a serious form of transport without a rack to transport STUFF. Looking cool but stupid with a back-pack weighing on your shoulders + spine ain't the intelligent way to go in the real world....

@@timothyleonsstudio7897 Probably the Engwe Engine X. Has much better power, speed and comfort than the Ado Beast.
