Excellent information. When I was on a pump I saw similar results, especially with cycling. I'm on MDI now and with Tresiba I see much less drop with exercise. But there have been many times where I jumped on the spinning bike instead of taking an injection 🙂 Cheers
Thanks Jeff, I'm actually planning my first 100 mile JDRF fundraiser ride this year. Part of making this video was just trying to figure out how my body would react to certain workouts. 😅
@@worldchngr Nice! Best of luck. I was a avid cyclist for 30+ years before I was diagnosed with T1D. I rode 5K miles a year. I've spent the past 5 years trying to get in a decent ride, without much success. Maybe you can post a video on how you manage the miles. Cheers
You are amazing! I love your content. You have helped me guiding me through my galaxy with dexcom. And I have been knowing I am going to have to get back on pump. This time it will be omnipod 5. Pre covid I had metronics pump. Hated tube. Hoping for better success with omnipod!
Hi Ben, thanks for the video. Reading the title, I thought you had no insulin acting, but after seeing the video, I realized that you had no bolus correction, right? Also, in some comments, you mention you had a basal insulin acting, and my question is: Is it related only to the continuous microdoses of Omnipod correct? All the best from Fernando, 47 years of diabetes t1 and 55 years age.
Hi Fernando, greetings from Arizona. Thank you for your comment. Yes, you are correct. The only insulin I had on board was the microboluses from my omnipod 5, which serves as my Basal insulin. I've edited the video title so that it helps to avoid confusion. Thanks again, and take care of yourself.
I do the same thing with running. I have to get my blood surgar up to 300 if I want to run a half marathon. No insulin, just drops into range when I am done. What watch and app are you using to get the dexcom readings? Will that work with Glaxy watch 5 pro or pixel watch? Looking for an adroid watch I can use. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
Hey Anthony, thanks for the comment. I use the Galaxy Watch 4 paired with the S21. I have a few watch faces that I use in this video based on of a few different tutorials I have on my channel. So far, my favorite and the one I think would work best for you is called Blose. Here is the link. Enjoy 😉. ua-cam.com/video/tJQJmGYLOVQ/v-deo.html
I agree with you saying he still has insulin on board. His findings are true but not anything new. Health provider should inform a diabetic that exercise will bring glucose down. I exercise when my glucose is rising to bring it down.
If you are type1diabetic, u always need insulin regardless!!!!! Your insulin does will need adjustments but you still need insulin. Please do not mislead people!
Hi Lin, Thank you for your comment. I agree 100%. As explained in the video, this was an experiment to see if a glucose drop with just exercise was possible, not at all a reason to stop taking insulin. This was also a lesson on the GLUT 4 pathway and how the body utilizes it through insulin stimulation and exercise for glucose transport.
Great advice.i am also seeing that its important in all this.
Thank you and your welcome
Great stuff!

I'll definitely try to come up with a solution for a good quality ride while avoiding lows.

You still should have had basal insulin working
Yes absolutely. Just not any insulin correction boluses
