Helen Keller: Biography of a Great Thinker
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 лис 2013
- Helen Keller (1880-1968) was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor's degree. Her teacher and companion was Anne Sullivan, and the story of how Sullivan broke through Keller's isolation to teach her language was the subject of the play and Academy Award winning movie "The Miracle Worker." Keller is well-known for her triumph over adversity, but less well-known are her political actions for labor rights, women's suffrage, and other causes.

Wow what a life changing woman she is , she is blind and deaf and achieves a BA. oh my god shame on me shameful man that I am I'm going to achieve multiple dr degrees now because of Helen ,she alone sets my bar high high high
I don't believe for a second that Helen Keller belongs on this list...maybe great spirits, effort, industry, maybe a list of people at the heart of the greatest, most touching stories, just not this list.
Have you read any of her books?
A great video !! A great motivator , To people with a challenging life .
Helen Keller is one of the most widely recognized figures in US history that people actually know very little about. That she was a serious political thinker who made important contributions in the fields of socialist theory and practice, or that she was a pioneer in pointing the way toward a Marxist understanding of disability oppression and liberation-this reality has been overlooked and censored. The mythological Helen Keller that we are familiar with has aptly been described as a sort of “plaster saint;” a hollow, empty vessel who is little more than an apolitical symbol for perseverance and personal triumph. -Keith Rosenthal
pls, consider a bio for Anne Sullivan too...
true
Alexandre Mello has hahahahha
I like Helen Keller because it's hard to use the right side of our brain to write good stories. A person who does that with a disability instantly earns my respect.
She is a unbelievable woman really such an astonishing person she is a marvellous creature she is the next face for hrd work hellen is better than any human she is a best
She deserves the highest

Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for the video.
Thanks for posting this, I had no idea Helen Keller was so heavily involved in the social justice movement.
So cool
awesomeee
Amazing video! ^_^
She lived well into the 20th century and there's a couple of video clips where she actually speaks. What amazes me is although it's a strained enunciation of a person who can't hear their own voice, you would swear she's speaking with that old Atlantic accent that people use to use.
Fascinating!
@@Socratica Have you listened? Tell me if you hear the same thing...
É a atriz brasileira Liliana Castro
