The Story of My Life (Audio Book)
by Helen Keller (1888-1968)
An autobiography of Helen Keller published when the author was still in her early 20's. The narrative reveals how her mind developed and matured until she began her studies at Radcliffe College (Summary by George Cooney)
this book moved me to great joy. the story itself seems too miraculous even for words, but Helen had such a love for objects and feelings and God that it all comes through like only an angel could express it. wow. the things the rest of us take for granted, she found delightful. Helen took in more meaning from the World through the very love in her mind than any of us could begin to absorb via our eyes and ears. she learned the word "water" and was finally connected to the entire world and soon the universe. she learned the word "love" and felt the connection to all people and every other thing in creation, which she described as her "peers." that is a profound proof of human symbolic thought being natural to our species - homo sapiens ("wise" or "thinking" human). when i hear self-styled "men" trying to prove that there is no God by reference to a book they read with their eyes or arguments they heard from the mouths of other men, i think that they must have recessive genes from homo erectus and neanderthal, which used tools, walked upright, used fire for warmth, and were yet cannibals and savages. they lacked not only religion but recipes for converting molecules via cooking, which combines sources of food to formulate novel, brain-enhancing compounds. Helen was able to do without eyes and ears what those early men had not done in 2 million years of evolution. she outsmarted all of them: Bushmen, Pekin Man, Grimaldi, atheist, agnostic, democracies, etc.
When I was reading to Chapter 4, suddenly my tears came out.....so touching my heart such lovely song beat my ears
I admire Helen Keller's story, her trials, tribulations and triumphs
Absolutely wonderful amazing story filled with inspiration.
she had quite a deep voice
great comment. had a good laugh
lmao
Just finished reading the book, one of the most remarkable stories I've ever read.
I think it would be more fitting to have this recorded with a woman's voice.
Spot on
Sexist boiii
Can I have the n word pass?
I agree. A woman's voice would be appropriate. Could you imagine Edith Bunker reading General Patton's autobiography?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
+Cathy Hemphill kn
How cute and funny to think of it that way. Too hilarious.
This was a life saver! thank you! I hadn't svn started the the book, and now I might actually NOT fail the test!

oh yeah yeah then WHY would you want your slow death?!
It would be much easier to imagine Helen's thoughts and feelings if the reader was a woman .
hola dona de donde eres?
Well done, thanks 🕊
I would prefer the sound of a female voice.
I agree if it is written in the perspective of a woman then it should be read by a woman

George Cooney (sp.?) is a v. good reader, but he's obviously not a native english speaker, as his eccentric pronunciations reveal.
+Autodidact2 but He is an American actor.
+Edwin Dom Are you confusing him with George Clooney, who is an American actor? I say again, his pronunciations are at times eccentric.
+Autodidact2 Incredible, I confused the name, are very similar! Thanks.
My book talk just got YeEteD.
where chapter 15
gr8 copy of the movie if anyone wants it: ua-cam.com/video/IjVJTSZwKv4/v-deo.html
It's "The Story of My Life by Helen Keller (1880-1968)," not "The Story of My Life by Helen Keller (1888 [sic]-1968)"! Pay attention to what you write.
it would be good with a woman voice.not good for me
movie? ua-cam.com/video/IjVJTSZwKv4/v-deo.html
Helen Keller was born in 1880, not in 1888.
