Inside The World's Biggest Baked Bean Factory

- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- The Heinz factory in Wigan, England, is the largest baked bean factory in the world. The factory was opened in 1959 and currently produces over 3 million cans each day. The beans are shipped from North America and rehydrated once they arrive at the factory. They are blended with a secret mixture of spices and tomato sauce. The ingredients are steamed inside of the can.
Over 2.5 million cans of Heinz Beanz are sold every day in the UK, making it one of the most popular foods in the country.

I´m in the middle of another lockdown. It´s 6 pm on a sunday and I´m sitting here alone in my room, eating baked beans while watching documentarys about baked beans.
That sounds incredibly sad. A tear came to my eye. I say that because I only have one eye.

Nahh
In my country we cook the beans in our homes, a portion everytime we want to eat. In the market it's sold in 1kg packages. We rarely seen caned beans around here.
all i have seen is spinning cans and more cans with all the reading about how many cans. lol
I don't think their is a Brit alive that doesn't love beans on toast, the perfect combination of sweet and savoury.
This is what dreams are made of.
I'm eating heinz baked beans rn and it's probably my first time. It's surprising good. But in my country this isn't cheap, it's a lot cheaper to make it at home so I'm gonna watch a cooking tutorial of baked beans......
Thank you beans are bomb 💀💀❤️❤️❤️

@FEC Multimedia Nothing, as the plastic isn’t heated to a high enough temperature to cause any harm. Take sous vide for example; food is cooked in plastic bags, but because it isn’t hot enough to degrade/melt the plastic, it’s perfectly safe
@FEC Multimedia Both sides have to bear evidence, bruv.
@FEC Multimedia depends on the type of plastic. HDPE can easily withstand 110 celsius.

Its a great British delicacy, especially if you are a UK student - Beans on toast.
We had a lot of US students in our halls of residence, and they thought they sounded revolting. Until we made beans on toast for them, they could not believe how good they were, and it was a new staple for them.
The other Student food in the Uni cafe is cheese and chips.....that is another meal that all students love.
As we can buy 4 tins in the UK to 1 in the US it doesn't seem to be a cheap quick alternative.
What kind of Bread do you in the UK typically use for beans on toast? (I'm in US...we have so many different types of bread available. What is best with Heinz Baked Beans?) * thx!

All the Heinz products should be made in the USA. The USA needs these jobs.

I want to know more on how they cook beans in sealed can. We all know what happens when we cook something like beans and we put a lid on the pot.

2.5 million cans a day and they can't afford a narrator? LOL
You shouldn't cook the beans in the can, the weld of the can is covered in a lacquer that is solvent-based and is sprayed over the weld wet and then dried. Once dried it shouldn't be heated up again.
Not all cans are made the same smartie
@@AliBaba-mb1pu I know that they are food grade cans '3 pieces' I use to make them for a living, that is why after seeing the video of what they do with the beans inside the can I advised of not doing that. Damaging the lacquer protection of the weld has high-risk health warnings consisting of food poisoning as it has exposed the copper weld to the food, that is why it is sprayed with the protective coating, to begin with, and by heating it up it softens the lacquer coating and depending on how hot and how long it's been heated for will determine if the food has been contaminated or not.
Solvent based that is dried...means the solvent is gone.

I had never seen Heinz beans for sale when I lived in the US (only the ketchup), even though I had lived in Beantown MA! Every city has a food it's known for and for Boston that would be beans. There were some nice varieties of beans to get though.
Imported from US originally? I had to go to a British store in US to buy authentic Heinz beans!!

What annoys me the most about Heinz, every other brand can have there tins stackable…except yours and to pay a premium so you can’t stack on others ?? Makes no sense
So an American company made a product that was so popular in the UK that they built a factory in the UK and shipped the beans from the US and the grocery stores in the US import this product then put it in the foreign food section.....

I haven't try this brand, however, i think what makes us sick is our unhealthy mind, stress and all anger we carry with us. I know many elderly people (over 90 years old) they lived through the great depression in Europe eating a very poor diet, and here they are still standing like rocks. I strong believe more than any chemical in your body is the poison we carry in our minds and hearts.

If you have time, get paper and an envelope and write to the CEO of Kraft Heinz, Miguel Patricio, and/or the site-director of the Heinz Factory in Wigan in the UK, Luis Spinardi, and write asking them to return to cardboard, or use a biodegradable alternative, such as that made from algae and fish waste (called Marina Tex) by Lucy Hughes in the UK. The KRAFT-Heinz company could invest and develop such technology (there are many successful bioplastics already in use across the globe) and roll it out on a grand scale across various of their product lines.
To anyone who truly cares about Planet Earth, watching this kind of production video is like taking a knife wound to the heart. Please buy some stamps and put your letters in the post. Address in the UK: Heinz factory, Orrell, Wigan WN5 0JX, (should be sufficient).
