Great video. I started boxing 5 months ago, and my goal is to compete professionally and become the best version of myself. I find your videos relatable as I am starting late (26 years old). Right now my eyes are on an amateur license. I will follow your advice on the other video with regards to accumulating as many amateur fights as possible, so that I have the adequate amount of experience and knowledge to deal with the wide range of different situations that come with boxing. I know it is hard to accomplish this but, I will accomplish it.
Very useful man I’m just getting started you are very motivating for me and people who are scared to start late. You show us that it’s possible thanks so much man. Much love and success to your career.

Been boxing since I was 15 , had a lot of amateur fights. I’m almost 29 and I feel as though it’s too late for me . I’m back in the gym and I’m not even in my best shape but giving everyone at the gym work. I often think of if I should go pro. But I’m nervous about it and don’t have the right guidance.

Sub'd. Didn't realize how technical the business side of boxing was for a first debut late starter. Please make more videos like these. What would make promoters more interested in a fighter aside from social media following? Hopefully a decent amateur record
I'm 18 now and I never had the confidence to start boxing even though I would always have loved to. I thought it didn't matter since I can't fight anyways because my eyesight is horrible. Now I've finally started training because while it may take a few years to afford the eye surgery I need, I still want to box. I hope I can get the surgery in 2 or 3 years, then I can finally do what I always dreamed of!
Wow! So Inspired of you and others on the comment section knowing that am not the only one who started boxing at later stage of my life. I’ve only started boxing 4 years ago and turned pro last year at age of 27. All I can say is that we shouldn’t conform to the norm of people saying it’s too late to box but chase our dreams and passion to live a fulfilled life. Atleast we dont get to regret something we should’ve done in our lives once we’re old whether we become champion or not. Looking for more of your content!
I agree with everything you just said. I believe everyone should at least try to pursue their dreams. Also thank you for tuning in and you will see more content from me.
I started when I was 17 stopped because of financial issues and inconsistency now I’m 19 turning 20 what was a good hobby turned into a real passion for the sport I will get back into it this year I’ve already wasted enough time
Started late at 21, had 4 fights before tearing my acl. Now 32, want to start the process all over again. This video inspired me that it ain't too late.
Thank you for sharing your experience it encourages me to take back boxing cause my dream is to become a professional. Eventhough I had to stop boxing and focus on my study abroad project, I strongly believe and know I shall be a pro some day by God's grace. Thanks again
Really inspirational.... Thanks for providing an insight to the journey..... It takes so much more than being a good Boxer.... Hats off to you!! Also waiting for your next fight🥊
This is a great video for any aspiring boxer regardless of age. Even if you're not looking to be a world champion, it costs a lot of money to actually have a pro fight and it's not as easy as it seems. Being around a gym for a long time and training with professionals it seemed like not just a passion but a full time job, with plenty of overtime when it came time to sell tickets last minute while cutting weight. Plenty of fighters have a lot of talent but cannot afford to be the A-side or fail to receive the notoriety needed to attract management to keep them undefeated long enough to get linked with a promoter. It definitely takes a lot of guys and resilience to go through with a pro bout, especially after all the time off, kudos to you Kenyon!
Well said for real! I think a lot of people believe that you can just get a certain amount of amateur fights, turn pro, and start making money and it just is not that simple. With the 14 years of being around the sport I've seen some of the most talented guys end up with bad pro careers because they were not moved right due to money and rushing the process. Thank you for commenting and tuning. Truly appreciate it.
I started boxing at 29 but never took it seriously. Now I'm 32 bout to be 33 next year and seeing this video and others who started late got me more motivated then ever now. Love the videos and if you don't mind me asking what's the song that's playing at 1:25
No way bro you saying you started boxing at 21 made me extremely happy. Im 19 and ive been boxing since i was late 17 and i kept thinking i was a bit old to become an amateur. Here i am with a solid 15-3 record. Hoping to go pro within a few years.
I’ve been training boxing and mma on and off since 23. I just didn’t live anywhere close to a gym and it was always a ridiculous drive. I’m 29 now and have buckled down and started training seriously. A judo gym opened 15 minutes from my house. I still have to drive an hour and 15 minutes for BJJ and kickboxing but it’s whatever. I’m hoping to get a few mma fights in my life. I’m not delusional enough to think I’m going to be a world champ but I think I could do pretty well on the local level. It would just be good stories for my 50 year old self to tell “I used too be a fighter back in the day” 😂 Even if I don’t ever have a bout It’s just an awesome hobby and it’s nice to know how too defend yourself adequately.
Same here bro started at 23 24 now got my first Competitive fighting in 9 weeks done exhibition 5 Months ago but obviously not same thing can't wait to see where I am when I'm your age
Thank you, I appreciate that! I saw and still see boxers I know getting taken advantage because they don't even think about the business side and I want to change that for however many people I can. As I learn more I will share more
Bro this is an AWESOME video. I subbed. But you gotta make a video expadning on your trianing. So curious to get a glimpse on exactly how you trained, workeouds, cardio, because it would be super beneficial to get people out of a training "rut".
Thank you for making this video bro. It feels like such a specific circumstance and story, but as I can see from the comments: the kind of journey you're on is shared by many others (including myself). You've inspired me to keep grinding and at least get myself to do a few amateur fights even though I'm in my early thirties as well! Subscribed and will be following your journey!
Glenda streetfighter watkins I started fighting without a manger. I now understand why I was losing, I was beating my opponents but if I didn't knock them out I didn't win. My last fight is why I stop pro boxing I won that fight and they took it from me. It is still on UA-cam I was ranked 10th without any help. That win would have put me 2nd in the ranking. Look me up on UA-cam please still do interviews
Preciate you sharin this, I’ve been trainin a couple months and plan on goin pro next year at 35, probably gonna grind all this year and do amateur. Any tips while I take this path would help brodie

Thats a good goal. I fought my first pro fight so that I can show my kids that you should not give up on what you are passionate about easily. We will definitely cross paths one of these day.
Weekdays I’m there during the 5am sessions because I go to work after training. Weekends I’m in at 8am when they open. Competition boxing. See in there big dawg.
Thank you for this video man its very inspiring, Ever since I started boxing I wanted to know how the whole process of going pro actually works and you made it very essy to understand in this video, Good luck on your journey bro 🔥💪
There are many paths that some can take to become a pro fighter. This is just one, but I am definitely happy it helped and gave you some insight.
Bro I’m 17 and I play and watch football (soccer) ⚽️ but boxing out of nowhere has become one of my fav sports in the last year to watch and I want to start boxing since it is good for discipline yk and work my way and go pro hopefully soon. This shit inspires me.
Thank you. I am happy I could inspire you with my story
didnt know who you were before but now ill be following you on your journey to a world title.
Thank you. Much appreciated. I'm not going to fight for a world title. I dont want pro boxing to be a career for me.
I just turned 21 and I wanna start boxing crazy to hear you started at 21 it’s motivating
Depending on your talent level at 21 you still have enough time to get amateur experience and turn pro before your 30's
Let’s goo! Great video and love the message, it’s never too late to go after your dreams!
Thank you! Yeah I try and push the message because at 35 I still feel I have so much to accomplish
23 and just started hopefully by this time next year I’ll be ready for my first amateur fight.
You will definitely be ready as long as you are dedicated.
Thank you! I am happy my video can help you. Definitely get that amateur experience it will help you so much down the line.
Very useful man I’m just getting started you are very motivating for me and people who are scared to start late. You show us that it’s possible thanks so much man. Much love and success to your career.
Thank you so much! I am happy I can help people in a similar position as me.
Thanks for this video man .. me am I'll be 21 March 2024 and am 1yr in boxing now
I started 20
But I gat tremendous power and am staying consistent with training..with God I'll be a world champion one day
Just work hard and keep going. You can get there
2:14 there u go, ur answer -connections thats it
Connections are key in everything
@@keysessomsyeah but it shouldn't ftw
Im 30, did some boxing back when i was early 20s, had 1 fight and didnt take it seriously, no sparring or training camp, i didnt win but made it to the end of the fight based on stubborness to give up, and im thinking of getting back into it and doing some local stuff, so thankyou for confirming i am not too old! 😅
No problem. Next time you fight. Make sure to take it serious.
Thanks man.
Congratulations 🎊🍾 Kenyon on becoming a professional boxer at 34 years old I’m proud of you dawg. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your journey on becoming a pro boxer at 34 year old it motivating
Thank you. I am happy that I can help and motivate others.
@@keysessomsyour welcome brother keep up the good work I look forward seeing your upcoming content and you should definitely fight in the 125 pound division
Sub'd. Didn't realize how technical the business side of boxing was for a first debut late starter. Please make more videos like these. What would make promoters more interested in a fighter aside from social media following? Hopefully a decent amateur record
This is fire. I’m late 20’s with a torn meniscus so it’s inspiring to hear I can still get some good work in after surgery
You definitely can!
Definitely an inspiration video to never give up on your dream and what you love!
Absolutely!!
Thanks, definitely gonna come back to this video when I'm fully healed and ready to go
No problem
I started when I was 17 stopped because of financial issues and inconsistency now I’m 19 turning 20 what was a good hobby turned into a real passion for the sport I will get back into it this year I’ve already wasted enough time
You so young! you definitely have time.
Started late at 21, had 4 fights before tearing my acl. Now 32, want to start the process all over again. This video inspired me that it ain't too late.
It definitely is not to late. Just enjoy the process and pick a goal to go after
Thank you for sharing your experience it encourages me to take back boxing cause my dream is to become a professional. Eventhough I had to stop boxing and focus on my study abroad project, I strongly believe and know I shall be a pro some day by God's grace. Thanks again
You are welcome. I hope you find your way back to boxing even if it is not to compete
Thanks, I've got no dought. I've started back training but it's on my on at the moment
Really inspirational.... Thanks for providing an insight to the journey..... It takes so much more than being a good Boxer.... Hats off to you!!
Also waiting for your next fight🥊
Thank you for that! I am putting myself through a challenge before I get another fight.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thank you for this man. Really appreciate the info and inspiration. 💯
No problem! I appreciate you tuning in.
Bro! you can definitely do it. You are in a better position than I was. I finished my amateur career at 15-6.
How long did you train until you had your first amateur fight?
@@dstoi about 1 year
Awesome content! This Channel will blow up soon💯
Thank you for real! I hope so
31 now started boxing no prior history other then here and there nothing major but I 100 percent believe I can become a pro
Go for it, but what is your goal with becoming a pro boxer.
@@keysessoms mainly to be the best version of my self and to be Abel to protect my family if need be with jy bare hands
God bless you Big Dog, you're a G.
Thank you!
This really gives me alot motivation, i just started boxing at the age of 23, and it's been my dream for so long
Go for it
My first boxing match in the amateurs is in 6 months, do you think it's too soon? Or too late?
Man I’m 22 SR college football QB and stopped boxing when I was 15 to get a scholarship in football. I Wanna Start back boxing this video was perfect.
Happy I could help. Everything you have done in football up until this point will benefit you.
I'm 17 and I'm thinking about starting with a goal to become a pro boxer, wish me luck, great vid dude
You are young and have a good amount of time. Are you already an amateur fighter?
@@keysessoms no, I'm going to start training this week, not an amateur yet
Started boxing at 23 , been locked in ever since ! I'm turning 28 next month
Same here bro started at 23 24 now got my first Competitive fighting in 9 weeks done exhibition 5 Months ago but obviously not same thing can't wait to see where I am when I'm your age
You should do more videos like this one…
#inspirational
What do you think a good topic would be?
i like youir mindset and im surprised you show the business side of things, very different from other boxers
Thank you, I appreciate that! I saw and still see boxers I know getting taken advantage because they don't even think about the business side and I want to change that for however many people I can. As I learn more I will share more
You are a great inspiration man
Thank you!
I want to go pro how can I sign up bro you gave me motivation
Badass video bro a lot of information I been looking for keep it up 🔥 💪
Thank you so much.
Nothing but truth and honesty great video
Thank you
Bro, this video is gold.
I appreciate that
Bro this is an AWESOME video. I subbed. But you gotta make a video expadning on your trianing. So curious to get a glimpse on exactly how you trained, workeouds, cardio, because it would be super beneficial to get people out of a training "rut".
Thank you. I'm going to do that soon.
No problem. There are a bunch of us out here on this journey. Im happy my story can help.
I truly appreciate this!
💪🏿
Preciate you sharin this, I’ve been trainin a couple months and plan on goin pro next year at 35, probably gonna grind all this year and do amateur. Any tips while I take this path would help brodie
Thank you. If you do not think you have a good trainer or a good boxing community around you, join my community. Second, I wouldn't go pro if you have been amateur for at least 3-4 years. Unless you have exceptional resources
Thank you, new Sub! Greetings from Colombia!
Thank you! i really appreciate the love.
You did good look at the COVID 2020 I know a lot of fighters dead broke and wish they had something going you at least prepared yourself educating knowing how to read financially know how to make money outside of fighting in proud of you
Thank you for this comment for real. I am trying to learn ways to make money outside of the sport and once I really have it down, I'm going to share so other people in the boxing business can do the same.
great video, thanks man
No problem!
This honestly gives me inspiration
I'm happy this helped in any way.
