Isaac, thank you for having the courage and conviction to share this. This is extremely illuminating, and needs to be heard by all. Your argument for a ceasefire in service of quieting the flames that surround the idea of Hamas and the division that is being created by the ongoing conflict is truly convincing. Thank you for all you do, and thanks again for letting me work with you guys this past semester :) Brianna. I will try to share this as much as possible!
Dear Isaac I'm 3 mins in and you seem authentic in endevouring to reach truth, justice and peace for the rights of humanity, and to your own jeporady ..........thank you in advance kind, thoughtful empathetic and futuristic man.
Well said. It's unfortunate that every issue is getting turned into a black-and-white, us-vs-them one, even ones that don't directly affect those of us living here in the US. People are losing sight of the possibility that the truth lies somewhere between two extremes.
Firstly, thank you so much for listening to all sides in a thoughtful way. Gazans who just want to live their lives and would be willing to live next to Israel in peace deserve so much more than they are getting. Unfortunately, so much focus is totally on Israel's part in the suffering of Gazans, without discussing Hamas and what the rest of the world isn't doing to help. You yourself here focused mostly on the destruction, giving a few other points at the end. So here is my point. Israel is expected to care more for Gazans (by the whole world), than Hamas, their leaders do. They are expected to be noble and risk their own lives if necessary, to save Gazans lives. Why do I say that? 350 miles of tunnels. These are not mentioned nearly enough. It tells so much about the Hamas mindset. Hamas used money and energy that should have been used for the welfare and benefit of the Gazans to build all those tunnels. Hamas has always diverted humanitarian aid for Hamas's use. What are all the ways that Hamas has made life horrible for Gazans (and Israel gets blamed for all of it) and made it hard for Israel to protect itself without causing casualties? That's a big part of the story that gets very little light of day. If Hamas will be so determined to build all that tunnel, what is the hope of a peace agreement? When most of the portrayal of Hamas and Gazans is as victims, and we leave out Hamas's role in the suffering of Gazans, and the never ending rejection of Israel and partition plans, we are not telling the whole story. And why are you so sure that it's the large numbers that caused reactions of Hezbollah, Houtis and other Arabs? They may have reacted that way regardless of how much or little Israel did. Please do an article or video on all the ceasefires Israel has agreed to and their aftermath.
Thank you for this balanced commentary that leads the way to peace. Contact llan Pappe and others who share your far sighted view. We need more voices like yours to pour cool water on this atrocious conflict. Thank you
Putting empathy to one side I can't imagine a rational or logical argument, from literally anyone, for continuing the slaughter. Does sheer magnitude make a much much larger massacre worse? Or is this worse because we vowed to never forget? Or perhaps because it's been going on for so many decades? This (like all my comments) is polite and respectful from a place of good faith... so I'll be disappointed if disappears. ✌️
Great! I am so grateful for all your carefully thought out positions. I didn't catch you defining zionism as you use it and apply to yourself. It can have a pretty wide spectrum of definitions. Can you clarify where you are on the spectrum. We see zionism get defined as the people who believe the Palestinians are animals to be exterminated and their homes stolen, their graveyards dug up. But i think it can also mean people who believe just that the jews should have a homeland. And obviously everything in between. How are you using the word?
I think your argument is very sound and reasonable. I think part of the problem is that you are basing your arguments on fact and most people base their opinions on emotion.
Thank you for making this video. I did want to add what convinced me that this is a genocide though, since I don't think you're there yet. The right wing government of Israel has made its intentions clear in the West Bank that they want as much Palestinian land as possible without having to give any more Palestinian people equal rights. That's what is obvious from their settlement policy in the West Bank. Given that motive in the west bank it's impossible for me to see the mass killing and displacement and starvation as not at least partially motivated by a desire to ethnically cleans and colonize Gaza. They're openly saying they want to occupy Gaza and for the right wing government of Israel occupation means colonization.
You are seeing the situation through Western eyes and ideals. The Middle East is a different universe, guided by different rules. A ceasefire short of total military victory, especially in response to "international pressure", will severely, perhaps fatally weaken the Jewish state. The "idea" of Jew hatred is not something that is new, nor will it be suppressed either regionally or globally, by Israel turning the other cheek. The U.S., and later the Arabs states, have embraced Israel BECAUSE it has proven that it is strong, and willing and able to fight successfully for its survival. A ceasefire now will push them away (nobody likes a loser) and only guarantee another Oct. 7th as soon as the international community re-arms Hamas. What will you say then, from the safety of the U.S.?
Exactly how many friends and relatives did you loose on Oct 7? You are very brave from the safety of the States. There are some people that the carrot has little effect upon but they fully fear the stick.
Really, what you’re calling for is for Israel to have a Christian response to their enemies - to love those who hate them, and do good to those who persecute and murder them. But, that will not happen. That only comes from people’ hearts who have been changed by the grace and atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Then Israel would want the same goodness for those who are destined for destruction to be saved and changed to become the people of God.
😢 that’s sad, I’m sorry that it’s not exemplified that for you. What is interesting is this video is essentially calling for Israeli leadership to respond exactly like Jesus said his followers should respond (and I believe Jesus IS Israel’s and the world’s Messiah).

Talk about making your case with evidence and clear objective thinking. Well done! Isaac is an important voice in American media.

Isaac for Israeli PM 2024?

Well said!
I agree 100% and very well presented. Thank You
