Nice to see Chris Judge is as savage as Kratos can be.
My complaint about the Game Awards was that they treated the actual awards as something secondary they had to get out of the way. It felt like the winners weren't given any time, in favor of trailers/ads/teasers
Trailers are acceptable cause tga is one of the few places where game companies can show what to expect but ads for samsung, google, nintendo and etc. were really odd
yeah, I think they need one more hourse to give more actual awards.
What’s I found disturbing is that Kojima got like 15 minutes for no value whatsoever ever but the guys that won a award and wanted to tribute their dead friend got told to speed up

I have to admit, I am a huge FF fan, so I am happy about the love given in the awards. I respect that some streamers don't like the JRPG genre… but fyi, that singer was in an Academy Award nominated movie… and Soken is a God among musical directors/composers.
I can't wait for the casting of Frank stone. I love dbd and casting looks like it's going to be a very sad or tragic story. Possibly he's a failed killer. In dbd lore the entity follows killers for there entire lives since infants and will manipulate there lives forming them into killers (this isn't always the case but for someone like the artist she was specifically formed by the entity into what she is. And so there's a possibility the story will show the entity trying to do the same with Frank but I the end failing and so the story will end with Frank being turned to a killer and then maybe dieing being all for nothing. Idk I think that would be a really good idea. Dbd has a surprising amount of lore and like fnaf by playing the normal game itself without looking into the tomes and descriptions of things you would have no idea.

I would argue cyberpunk still counts as an ongoing game. They’ve been updating it for months and they are still throwing in new content outside of fixing it. They’ve finally poured their love into the game and it shows. Definitely deserved to win.
From how I see it. They just proved that even big studios can be excused from releasing broken games as long as they not only fix them, but also add free DLCs. No Man's Sky had a good excuse cuz it turned out to be an indie studio (12 people) backed by Sony trying to make an insanely massive game within 3 years. But CD Projekt Red is basically a Triple A studio who released a broken game that they said they were working on for 8 years, the difference is off the charts. So now I don't feel like teaming up with anyone who complains about anymore broken game releases, cuz we proved twice now that we will take it with open arms and with awards to give them as long as they fix the games.
Fun fact the casting of Frank Stone was actually gonna be a John Cramer origin story for saw but they decided on this instead

Feels like for some of these, they just didn't wanna give 2 different awards to the same people. Ik the feelin, back in school I was supposed to get a lot of different awards. At the end when I asked why I got only 1 and all the kids who were bad throughout the year got more , the teacher and principal said ,"we have to spread out the awards even to the bad kids cuz we cant have 1 person be able to get most of them and leave everyone else with nothing and feelin bad that they didnt get nothing ".... Btw for those who aren’t Persona fans, P3 Reload is a Remake of the OG Persona 3 game that came out during the PS2/PSP era. I highly recommend it if you even remotely enjoyed P5/P5R tho if the themes of Death and Loss are too much for you then you might wanna skip out, otherwise this new version is perfect for modern gamers interested in a story like this one

She was creative director for Ghostwire: Tokyo before leaving the company, Tango Gameworks(Shinji Mikami's company) mid-development after 9 years working there. Ghostwire was directed by Kenji Kimura. Also to be fair, the game wasn't a failure or "bad". It got "generally favorable" reviews from critics, according to Metacritic. I'd say the game as 6/10 for almost everything but 10/10 exploration and environments. The update had a really good horror mission and rogue-lite mode that throws players into a 30-floor area that they added and couple of new locations such as the Middle School and extended cutscenes for the main story . IT still sold well, with around 6 million they announced recently around June, 2023, so the studio is happy as it wasn't a flop. Kinda the same story with Alan Wake 1 & 2 and other Remedy games not Max Payne, where they are liked but except they don't sell huge and become kinda cult-ish, but hopefully they turn it around with AW II and their live musical recreation of the chapter on stage at the Game Awards might boost sales since everybody is talking about it.

The other games continuously develop new things and make you want to play. Cyberpunk hardly does that. They spent several years fixing a game that wasn't ready and then overhauled the game to release a dlc. It's not fair on the other nominees or other developers. Tbh by the same rules you could have God of War Ragnarok nominated bc it has a dlc that has been in continuous development.
