When mentioned how to get back to freeport if we die as barbarian you said 'switch persona and attack guard' without explaining diff personas have separate binds/origins and how this works. 3. Probably worth mentioning pros/cons of picking personas willy-nilly as disclaimer (i.e. limit of 3 by default and they're permanent to character!) 4. Mentioned that they're useful for raids but didn't mention why they are any different than just making anotehr alt as you have to level them up still as well. (i.e. sharing keys/flags/gear) 5. Enchanter inherently doesn't get better vendor prices but 120+ charisma or indiff faction does so explain that enchanter illusions + typically high charisma are the reason for enchanter. Don't mean to be critical but there was a lot left unsaid that makes the viewers do a lot of guesswork behind the scenes to the beneficial examples given, would love to see more content like this but with fewer gaps! :D

Between all the people abusing persona this way, it will cause several things to occur. First, there will most likely be a massive amount of lag and perhaps even a crash for Teek as it tries to handle max capacity with several hours of log in queue time as everyone online swaps personas around like they are juggling characters. It will also entirely remove the feel of distance of the world to a degree that makes the shared bank feel trivial. Even though when the shared bank originally started it was the end of people having to actually travel for things like fire beetle eyes or crafting / materials. Oh yeah, anyone wanting to play a druid and or wizard to get early plat with travel services will have to reconsider their usual play style. It just seems very unlikely that there will be a high enough of a demand for ports anymore. Overall, it's odd that everyone is so excited to have all these features and items from later expansions in conjunction with the items from Vaniki. It might seem like great fun, but is it really worth sacrificing what the TLP servers were meant to be? Even on Tormax, I can see it ruining the fun for some people who wanted to play normal when a group of people in the Visage of Vaniki run by with mount / food buffs. Wooo Woo! Here comes the circus train! Wooo Woo! Not that it matters, but in my humble opinion, they should have limited persona usage to servers that have unlocked Planes of Power. This would have instantly eliminated 90% of the problems personas create and also give you a reason to make alts when that time did arrive. They should have also made a better ruleset than Tormax. It will not draw in enough people to help alleviate the server load for Teek. It's also just too vanilla in a way that it makes you wonder exactly what it's trying to accomplish. If anything, they should have made another Agnarr like server, or even one that would lock in Velious that didn't allow any of the modern features or claims on it.

I wanted to try the"mischief" style server since I missed out on the Mischief/Thornblade severs release... Darkpaw, just leave sh** alone..If it is not broke don't try to fix it!..I'm not going to burn a krono now due to persona. It will ruin EQ. I will play Quarm instead. This is my decision today, now as I have watched this video. Maybe I'm mistaken on Persona and Teek / Tormax release. If persona is on either TLP count me OUT. Quarm seems to be a better place, no krono..9 month expansion releases up to PoP and locked there in a few years....Cool, calm and casual. It is for the folks who work and have maybe a few hours a day to play. I never played P99, I just recently stumbled upon Quarm since Agnarr is a ghost town. Although EQ has been running into ruin since after PoP era. Luclin was a crap release to me. PoP had hope and light, but GoD and OoW ruined the game there after and beyond for me. Loy and LDoN were turds as well. Quick $ grabs for little return.
This sounds like a major overreaction given how little personas actually do for you, especially early on a TLP. You can origin hop around, but not much more than that. Honestly I am in the opposite camp, and really struggling to see how this feature is worth the price tag.
A nuisance that it's paywalled for TLP players. I appreciate it's free for those who keep up to date with Live expansions but that's not me at least hah. Assuming you've not missed any glorious features, I'll pass thanks! Which is a relief because I plan to buy bags and didn't want to double the cost with personas.
I mean honestly, for me, Laurion's Song **is** the persona system. I'm never going to play on Live, I'm never going to see that content. I'm literally buying the expansion SO THAT I can abuse this feature, lol. That's how I'm choosing to look at it.
The expansion cost me 0 real life dollars, people sell the tradeable tickets for 3-5 krono on live servers. you get 3 persona slots on top of your main character with that level of the expansion.
@@Flea_ip I bet they'll release it as standalone later for those unwilling to pay $35 for just 1 feature but same... i'll buy it on one account at least to try it out.
You can. The biggest detriment to personas is that *achievements* only happen once and on whichever persona is currently active. Later on this can cause issues if you want something on a specific class.
Outstanding advice. I never thought of using it for fast travel when creating new characters to join from different areas of the world. And the tip on changing to an Enchanter to sell stuff is huge... Thank you... Question, will we be able to do this day one of Teek?
Hmmm... I thought the whole point of TLP's was to recapture the classic experience. Seems a bit of an exploit more than anything else, whatever about using it for travel but the extra plat from selling is massive long term
@@TBCNexus Indeed. The only reason I quit Oakwynd was out of annoyance at the way issues were being treated. The Legacy AA bug (I had 10 toons ready), the plat dupe annoyed so many people and lots of people who I made friends with on the server quit. Oakwynd was such a nice ruleset.
That's an interesting take. Reading the Oakwynd ruleset, it seems pretty basic compared to Teek. A vanilla server with FTE and increasing xp, cash, etc bonuses, but nothing that really changes the way the game plays. Did you ever play Mischief? If not, I think you underestimate how much the random loot changes the game. It really is great fun to actually get raid loot with relatively small groups of people. The loot pools (with bonus loot, that's a considerable and often overlooked feature) mean you can target the mobs that your group is best setup to take on, and you could get something off of a mob that would otherwise be much more difficult to impossible. For example, my brother and I can kill Tormax and Yelinak, but don't stand a chance in against Vulak. Well, on Mischief (and now Teek) they were all in the same loot pool, so hitting those AoC instances every week gave us regular rolls against Vulaks loot table as well, and it was a lot of fun to finally have items that I had never had before. It's a much different game since each expansion contains a meta game of how to best maximize your AoC cool downs and best target the mobs in each loot pool that are optimal for your group setup. Then since it is free trade, you can fill in any gaps by selling your extras for what you want. To some people this sounds "easy" and "not Everquest", and to some extent this is true, but I was also one of those curmudgeons myself once upon a time, until I actually tried it out and it was the most fun I've ever had in the game.
Wow this is stupid yet useful. But no way I'm paying for 3-6 expansions (for all my accounts) I may never see just to get this (cheat) feature. But it sure would be nice for the iksar and ogre toons I was going to make. Running around with no pok is the reason my enc and clrc will both be High Elfs.
This is by far one of the worst features ive ever witnessed in playing mmos since 2002 . What , just as bizarre as eq players getting mad about krono. I will never understand this community . How are people not mad about this , it literally ruins tlps , its not even been created with love , theres no clear game play feature that makes them better then alts but somehow they seem to work as way to transport across the world . Bizarre feature makes no sense and just used as a exploit to move across the world.I literally think theres maybe a handful of changes in mmos that as badly thoughtout and worked on then this , maybe swg class changes? This change lacks more thought then the rorquel changes in eve , worse then blood elf paladins , worse then LFR . .Thanks for the video tho.
This is absolutely horrible. Part of the fun of old Everquest is traveling the world. Plus a lot of porters are gonna lose out on one of their prime money makers. I was looking forward to the TLP but with this I'm considering not playing. Oh, well.
Personas suck. Ruins the game and economy. Tired of people needing on loot for their 4th persona against a main in the same group or raid. I have epic weapon fatigue getting 400 requests to do epic number 5 for some guy in guild on his persona. THEY CAN ONLY PLAY 1 at a time. They have a main thats it. Personas are cancer

@@Flea_ip Hey, Yea I completely agree! Just that I fell on the other side. Persona system isn't worth $40 to me.
@@llarrswind Thanks for this comment seriously. That's good to know. I'll look into it. Think I have 4 krono still after the last TLP.
completely new to this persona thing here ... can you do multiple epics then?
You can, collect them all!. There's also a Q&A on eq forums with specifics like this.
You can. The biggest detriment to personas is that *achievements* only happen once and on whichever persona is currently active. Later on this can cause issues if you want something on a specific class.
Wasnt this behind a paywall yesterday?
I release videos to channel members first!
@@TBCNexus Thought I was going mad!
Hi, would someone explain personas like I haven't played in 20 years? Thanks!
Ff14 jobs!
Outstanding advice. I never thought of using it for fast travel when creating new characters to join from different areas of the world. And the tip on changing to an Enchanter to sell stuff is huge... Thank you... Question, will we be able to do this day one of Teek?
Yes
Hmmm... I thought the whole point of TLP's was to recapture the classic experience. Seems a bit of an exploit more than anything else, whatever about using it for travel but the extra plat from selling is massive long term
Hmm this didn't work for me?
What a stupid feature.
The ruleset of Teek is pretty basic too when compared to what Oakwynd brought to the table.
Oakwynds ruleset only gets better the longer it goes. I just wish they were a bit braver with some of the early bonuses!
Oakwynd is awesome. Been my favorite TLP to date, no contest.
TLP hype!
That's broken.
Nope it would be a single click with the anniversary NRO teleport item for 1000dbc
Pancake syrup
This should be considered a cheat for TLPs long runs are an achievement/challenge
Stay on p99
lmao imagine thinking TLPs are a challenge, come on dude
I wont lie this is cool, but. 😂 I think it ruins the fun/pain that we all have memories of
For those of us playing on our 8th TLP, we are kind of over the fun/pain, lmao
@@Flea_ip You should stop playing TLP's then like a hamster caught in a wheel.
What is the point of TLP with stuff like this. Play the game the way its meant to be played grr.
Im sorry people can barely play their main class well..switching to persona 4 for a raid is hilarious
Just make an alt.....
No one wants this on TLPs at launch. They only enabled this feature on TLPs for one reason. Money
Wouldn't say no one so fast...
This is absolutely horrible. Part of the fun of old Everquest is traveling the world. Plus a lot of porters are gonna lose out on one of their prime money makers. I was looking forward to the TLP but with this I'm considering not playing. Oh, well.
They should remove personas from TLPs
So lame. Didn’t like the idea of personas when I first heard of them and definitely not into it being on Teek from the get go.
Enchanters do not get better sell prices than other classes.
It’s the higher cha, with a cha buff and items you’ll be pushing it higher and getting better prices.
Not inherently, no. But they have higher starting CHA than other classes/combinations.
I feel for all druids and wizards on the new tlp...you are even more useless than before
Personas suck.
Persona is made for grouping to try and stop boxing.
Boo bad I don't want this trash on TLP
This sucks
