I had someone advised me not to compromise in water tap related fixtures and I’m so happy I took it seriously. They lasted for 14 years now (and counting), never give me problems. The reason is, it’s always wet, high usage of “on-off” mechanism (similar to switch), water can trigger corrosion, it flows (fluid mechanism erosion), . During my time I had shortlisted 2 Germans (Grohe and Hansgrohe), 1 Switzerland (Geberit), 1 US (Kohler) and 1 Japan (TOTO) brand for these fixtures.
@@Cerealgangster hansgrohe. They had annual sale and lucky me, I collected all I needed even before the reno started. For toilet flushing system, I chose Geberit.
You don't need a tv wall to hid the cables. My power point is directly behind the tv and I used a soundbar mount, which is fixed to the TV mount. Just buy it and you can hid the cable now instead of waiting for another renovation. It is an easy fix, but u need to unmount the TV to set it up.
Np! It does look abit high, but my viewing experience is not affected 😂 The tv is 65 inches and kinda heavy so I’m not sure if my floating console could support it haha
Hmm I will be installing a door between the kitchen and yard to conceal the chute in my next house. In this case maybe you can laminate the chute (will not be too expensive) or build a slim tall cabinet to conceal it
Great video, thank you for telling us. I had no idea that brass hardware could wear out so quickly for instance. Re: issue #7, you could use a grout pen to darken it. They're quite easy to use and durable. Re: the bomb shelter vent, I actually prefer them over the vent ones because they're so much easier to clean.
@@Cerealgangster You're welcome :) Don't worry, as long as the air goes away from you and not towards you, technically you don't have to clean it hehehe ;)
My guess is it wasn’t solid brass and instead was powder-coated brushed brass/gold on to aluminium? Would you happen to know the material 😅 Coz if solid brass then inner layers is still the metal mah.
Those watermarks or limescale stains on your bathroom hardware; try HG limescale remover, spray and leave for 5-10 minutes before going back to scrub. It works wonders.
Wow I had no idea have always thought it's ok because everyone's doing it haha. I'm actually staying in an apartment though so not sure if we need approval

This is really nice! I am 7 month away from getting my house key and extremely pumped up for the renovation.

Which brand did you go for in the end?

@@sgholidae taking notes 📝 think I will go with Hansgrohe in future, thanks!!
Hi you can consider using simple stick on cord covers to conceal the wires. Paint them the same as the wall and they blend in very nicely.
Ahh thanks for the tip! I will probably do that for the next house ☺️
Realistic and relatable. Thanks! I’ll consider your regrets for my own reno. ❤
Glad it helps!! 😊
Thanks for the tip on the bomb shelter grill!
Thank you for sharing all the useful tips!
Glad it was helpful!!

Excellent tip!
Great video! Learnt a lot from it and one of the few videos I watched that really covered things I might not have thought about. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Glad this video was useful, don’t make the same mistakes as me!🥹🥹
thank you for sharing. I am renovating my house right now and this video was super helpful! you have a lovely home!
Aww thanks! 😊 hope your reno journey will be a smooth one!
I almost got a brushed gold rain shower. Thank u for the advice. Your place is still v nice despite your regrets.
Thanks for your kind words! ☺️ hmm it could also be a brand issue, maybe Grohe/Hansgrohe would hold up better over time?
@Cerealgangster of course. But too expensive.
@@Cerealgangster can i check where did you bought yours from please
@@valentinalim9463 the brushed gold rain shower was from some random shop at tampines, think you can find it at heritage as well!
Love for the lo-fi magnetic backing track ❤❤❤❤
The most brainwashing song ever 😂😂
Thank you for sharing! For your point of 6, how about directly place the TV on the console? Actually did not you feel the TV right now is too high?

I have the same Riben chute! Have you thought of how to conceal rubbish chute? I have open kitchen and people can see it from outside.

Thanks for the grout pen tip very useful! 😊 As for the bomb shelter vent , I have not cleaned mine so far (I’m too lazy😂😂😂)

I have the same regrets over the brass toilet fittings that wore off so quickly 😢
Yeah it’s so disappointing how fast it wears out!
i bought my mirror online as well. Yes not even 5 years yet already see the blackish spots.
I feel your pain!😭

Surprised Paloma is in Taiwan too! 😮😮😮
I’m situated in Singapore actually 😅
@@Cerealgangster Oh! Good to know ❤️
Changing the bomb shelter ventilation cover seems to be not approved by hdb, dont quote me, better chk if you wish to sell your flat in future.

@@Cerealgangsterif it's by SCDF then tempering the vent is illegal. The only thing you are allowed to do is paint the front of the plate.
