It’s not like blizzard where they cut off half of the workers and then hire just worse coders. Valve does so many one game contracts that it’s basically a different company making each game. Because of that i don’t think it’s any good to judge a game made by a bunch of contractors because they work under valve (and even if the “valve treatment” will happen, we still have like at least 7 years after release to play the game.)

4 months is 120 days , that is like 3 hours per day average if you play more on weekends , not unreasonable to play that much , I actually had uninstall the game because I played 140 hours in the first 2 weeks , and it was affecting my work performance since I work from home . I think the game is more addictive than it has any right to be , I don't remember being addicted like this to a game since Skyrim came out in 2011 . I think the reason is that the games where you are losing end instantly pretty much instead of being like Dota or league where you surrender or wait 15 mins for them to end , so a game ends and you go for the next one , and all characters are bullshit enough on their own way for you to feel like balance is not that bad , aside from pocket , fuck pocket lol

Predecessor i enjoyed just like i enjoy this game. The main difference is in deadlock, NOTHING has a maximum distance. Ability range can be increased. The items are both very simple and not an essay per item (unlike league or dota). Theres also half the items of league and dota. I think thats a good thing. Deadlock also has no dedicated melee characters like crush or khaimera, everyone has a gun of some kind.
You should. I'm aware not a lot of people play Dota 2 nor stuck around long enough to get hooked but I guarantee you its balancing is pristine and boasts one of the highest character pool viability percentage in any competitive esport game that is loaded with characters to choose from. If its lead dev, Yoshi/Icefrog is also the same guy responsible for balancing Dota for more than a decade and a half now then deadlock is in very good hands.
Fast games about 20, my fastest was a total mismatch and we stomped in like 14 minutes against shooter players who didn’t know how to farm vs me and my brother who have moba experience. On average 25 mins, upwards of 40 is my longest.
I'll be honest this UI needs a MAJOR update. There's way too much shit on the screen. Thought they'd learn from DOTA 2's UI and scale it down to what's necessary.

Nearly everything in this game visually is a placeholder. The models are mostly all carried over from other failed projects. This game is in a pre-alpha stage, not even a full alpha.
Honestly the game looks like it needs more time in the oven, probably fun to play but I'm sure so were the other countless hero shooters that existed or still do that never really blew up. Nothing about this game really stood out to me, the only reason it's got relevance is because of Valve's name. Maybe it'll be really seamless release with great gameplay and no bugs but probably won't be for a long while.

skill issue everyone in my games is playing at close to max efficiency. everyone is at like 400 spm everyone in the game has 20k souls at 13-15 min
