Microwave kilns are AWSOME , I made one, one time for doing science stuff, its amazing how much heat a microwave can make, I used mine for melting rocks.
Thanks so much for sharing your tutorials and tips!! I haven’t worked with clay or glass since high school because it’s just been inaccessible for me. But this changes things! I’m super inspired seeing the cute things you made!
Thank you! One question...am I wrong, or do a lot of other people in the videos just use high heat to begin with? I. don't recall seeing another video using slow, mediium and high heat. Was I just not paying attention or did the others have good luck with no cracks? Keep on having fun making those fun little guys! I can hardly wait.
yes I since have learned from doing this for awhile that all the increments is not needed and I will be doing a video on that shortly to share what I do know now,it’s definitely a learning process lol
This guy raised his kiln by modifying and using two stacked together... 'Capt Mike' channel "Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun..Double Your Microwave Kiln?"
Have you ever used gold lustre/glaze in the microwave kiln? I can't seem to find a definitive answer for what temperature they get to. So I'm wondering if the gold will work
I love what you created, but I have a question about the metal on a few of your pieces. How can you microwave the metal with your pieces? Doesn't metal cause sparks/fire in a microwave?
I have a link in the video for heat resistant wire, the metal jumps you see in this video was added after I finished firing the pieces and I forgot to film that part
I wish I watched your video before I used my microwave kiln. I've just melted the middle bit that turns the turntable. I will have to buy a new microwave now and use broken terracotta to place my kiln on.
it’s the large kiln, there is only a small and large so if the listing says medium it’s not true it’s a large. I have a link in this video with the exact kiln I got

This was awesome and so helpful. I’m trying to decide if I want to try a microwave kiln. Can you tell me if you hollowed out your figurines?

Hello! What temp does the kiln reach?
Microwave kilns can reach temperatures of up to 1650°F, depending on the size of the kiln, the microwave's wattage, and what's being fired.
Hello any questions is welcome I will do my best to answer them

look on fb market place before buying a new one you can find deals in your area
What kind of microwave are you using? I want to do this so badly! I'm slowly collecting all of the items needed.
I am using a 900-1000 watt microwave also look on Facebook market place I got mine on there for $20
What is the measurement of your kiln?
it’s the large kiln, there is only a small and large so if the listing says medium it’s not true it’s a large. I have a link in this video with the exact kiln I got
I won't be using it again. It is crumbling all my clay pieces. No orange light inside
Sounds like your clay is not dry enough and it’s exploding
