Babassu butter is beautiful for hair. It penetrates the hair shaft but it is lighter and more tolerable than coconut oil. Definitely recommend.
Babassu is lovely!
I use it daily. Love it!
I love my ucuuba butter! Made some body butter with it, (aloe, silk, glycerine and vitamin e, ucuuba, grapeseed, ewax) and used 5d cedar, 1d clove and one drop satsuma spice. A very warm scented body butter. I find the ucuuba butter scent warms up during the morning to a sweeter smoky scent. It's very hydrating. Have fun with it!
Ooooh, yum! That does sound like it would be great :) And from my experiments rubbing it around you are so right about the scent warming up-it really improves and smells less like BBQ haha :P
The way you described the yukuba oil or butter, I really want to try it in some kind of product. Thank you for doing this video!
Tucuma is a game changer as a sealant. Mix in a shea whipped butter. Use SPARINGLY and dry hair under a dryer so that the butter melts into your hair. I have defined curls for days! Oh I do add a dab of gel last.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing :D
Thank you so much for sharing its nice to learn about other exotic butters appreciate it 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Mowrah's texture seemed quite similar (and could be a wonderful substitute) to Palm. I can't wait to experiment. Great video, thanks for sharing, Marie.
Interesting! I've never worked with palm before, so that's great feedback to have :)
I so enjoy how you share your wealth of knowledge and details about products that are natural and healthy. Hoping that you grow and grow.
Thank you so much, Gale! I hope so, too :)
I've used Ucuuba in a night cream I've made. ..heated it and strained any impurities. Loved it! worked great for my dry skin. I've not worked with a water and oil...it was basically, ucuuba, aloe gel (I might try the aloe juice one day) and then some oils, sea buckthorn, carrot seed, frankincense and rose geranium.
I loved it! the scent definitely reminds me of BBQ and wet earth.
Monika Ptok-Byard that sounds lovely, would love to have that exact recipe if you wouldn't mind sharing.
Neat! I bet the sea buckthorn paired beautifully with the ucuuba scent :) Just remember that aloe IS water-it's easily 99% water with just a little bit of colour and aloe extract. So, make sure you're using a broad spectrum preservative and emulsifier to be safe! You can read more here: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/what-preservative-should-i-use-how-much-of-it-should-i-add/ and here: www.humblebeeandme.com/a-quick-guide-to-solubility/ :) Happy making!
Aloe consists of 99% water??. You didn't use an emulsifier?
Ucuuba butter in soap is my most favorite soap ever!! It is crazy soap................ so amazing. The soap has shea, cocoa, olive, castor, and one more that I am forgetting. :-)
I'm glad I watched this today. I have a package from New Directions on its way and I ordered tucuma butter for the first time. I'm excited to see what I can do with it. The other three I almost bought but I had absolutely no clue what to do with them lol. I read somewhere that tucuma acts as a natural silicone. I can't wait to see what recipes you come up with!
Have fun! I just used some tucuma butter in a solid conditioner bar that I'm in love with :) www.humblebeeandme.com/orange-blast-solid-conditioner-bar/
I just made a curling cream mixing flax seed and marshmallow root gel in with some tucuma and mango butters and coconut, apricot, and argan oils for shine and moisture (using ewax as the emulsifier) and it turned out very smooth and works well in mine and my son's hair so far. It gives a light hold to his curls and keeps my wavy styles in place. Thank you for all your recipes! I've learned a lot! 👍🏾
Hi Marie thanks for doing this unboxing info video! perfect! Hope your time I n England was wonderful! 🌞🍃❤🍃
Thanks so much! I had fun making it :) And England was AMAZING!
Yay! New stuff! Let's celebrate! New toys! I want to try babassu and ucuubu butter. Oh, heck, I want it ALL! 🤣
Wahoo! And yeah, I know... never enough ingredients!
I have worked and experimented a lot with mowrah butter. It is really easily covered up with lemongrass essential oil and I only found one carrier oil that de grits it. I luckily get mowrah that hasn't melted prior and it is pretty smooth. My customers love the stuff I make with it and especially the people who have reactions to cocoa butter. Thank you for the tutorial and trying the different butters. I was curious about ucuuba butter.
I definitely need to work with mowrah butter more, there's just so many butters and so little time 😝
Humblebee & Me True! I recently ordered a sampler pack of 5 different butters to try. Plus some babasu oil. My recent obsession I'd getting pure cocoa butter to play well with others with minimal other ingredients.
I love using Tucuma Butter!
I'm having so much fun with it in shampoo bars lately! :D
Please make video of foam whipped body butter base. Please please please.and with every single detail.
Really informative! l liked the first one,coz it doesn't have it's own smell!
Thanks! I'm definitely excited to play with all of these some more :D
I brought some Ucuuba Butter over a month ago and I'm dying to try it. Ariane Arsenault received some to test off a supplier in France she made a creme with it and because of the colour of the Ucuuba she didn't add Colourant to the creme I was so intrigued with the Ucuuba Butter because of the colour I done some research on it and it is fantastic in Shampoos Conditioners, all lotions and body butters the article said it was extremely good for your skin and hair absolutely fascinating Butter. When I make a body butter with the Ucuuba butter I'll let you know how I go Hun. Thanks for showing us the butters I'm also keen to try the Tacuma and Murumah Butter I think it is too. Lol. Thanks for the vids.
I'm really looking forward to having some time to play, too! I feel like the ucuuba could be great in men's products because of the scent-I bet it would be great with pine or spruce essential oils.
Humblebee & Me. Oh does it I haven't t opened mine yet so I have no idea how it smells. Lol. I wanted to keep it fresh as I could before using. We are having lots of humidity here in QLD Australia quite normal for this time of the year so I've put off making soaps as well or any Creme's since last year. I finally made a batch yesterday as one of my customers ran out so had no choice so weather permitting soon I'll make some Acuuba body butter I'm dying to make some lol anyway hopefully soon lol. Thank you.💟
I can scarcely imaging it being too hot/humid for making! That just doesn't happen here in Calgary, haha. There's nothing like -25°C to make you want to stay inside and make things!
OMG that's to cold lol. We had 99% humidity two weeks ago today it's sitting on only 57% so it is easing put It this way I would've had to melt anything hahaha. Dreading my next electricity bill hahaha. The air conditioning has been running flat out. I made some Day creme two days ago it seems fine so up up and away lol. Later. 🌷
Evehsv .
Thank you for sharing! I found a new attraction to "Butters" so please discuss more. Some butters refer to how they are good in soaps. Can you share recipes for soaps/shampoos for hair? All types? Thanks again for sharing!
It sounds like you should check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com/)-I've been blogging for over 6.5 years while I’ve only been on UA-cam for about 1.5, so there is TONS more content on the blog! Including more hair recipes and lots of recipes using different butters :)
Mowrah has the same texture and slight graininess like mango butter if I use it unmelted. Love your videos btw
Thank you so much!
I just order your book, can't wait to read it!!!
Thank you! I hope you love it to bits :D
Actually I did 😊you are so specific, thanks.
mowrah butter comes like you have and in harder chunks. this is my favorite butter. unrefined smells about the same. the smell is easily covered up.
Thanks for letting me know, very cool!
Lovely. I saw a comment about your book. I will love to have a copy.
Thank you so much! You can find a big list of places to buy it @ humblebeeandme.com/make-it-up-preorder/ ❤️
Sounds like Ucuuba butter would be great in beard balm or pomade!
Agreed! I can't wait to play with it some more :D
"Oooeh, aaahw, ooohw!" Yups, adding Tucuma and Ucuuba to my wish- and/ or shoppinglist. :D Thanks for sharing!
No worries! Happy shopping ;)
Tamanu is another great soft creamy butter.
My tamanu is more of an oil than a butter, albeit a cloudy one. What's the INCI of yours?
Thanks for this. I LOVE babassu! Haven't used the others yet, but I have small quantities. Have you tried Kokum? Another good one.
I've definitely bought kokum before, but I think I let it get too old before I worked with it, 'cause it just sort of foamed (a bit WTF moment for me haha) when I tried to melt it :P
+Humblebee & Me will you be making any videos with these butters? maybe a comparison or battle of the butters in lotion form?
Probably! Any new recipes will likely be published in tandem with my blog :)
hi hun. will u plz do a video on kokum. theres not any great info on youtube. im noticing that many companies are cutting it severly. and why not, they can because nobodies talking about it and people arent informed of what consistency color smell ect should b.
I'll think about it, but I really don't know much about it at this point either :/
I absolutely love kokum from head to toe. I use it in a few different products that I make. I absolutely have to say it is in my top 3 Butters. I use it in a place of cocoa butter because it doesn't clogged pores like cocoa butter on the face. It's a butter that seals in moisture and doesn't let it out. My other favorite Cupuacu, is also in my top three because it draws in moisture they make a great combo. I could go on and on about kokum. Great on face and hair.
Interesting I bought unrefined babassu oil and it has a very dry finish and absorbs quickly into my skin.
I'll have to give unrefined a try if I can find it :)
Have you since worked with any of these in your recipes? I'm very interested in trying tucuma and ucuuba butter in my beard balms. Especially because it has a dry finish. 😉
A wee but, but nothing I've published yet :)
From which supplier do you most recommend buying rose oil?
I wondered where to get some mowrah butter. I am working on your body butter recipe. I didn't have this butter and didn't like my substitution results. next I'm trying cupuacu instead of the mowrah. it feels great on the skin by itself. I recently cound your videos and enjoy your short videos that are so upbeat and how many recipes are small so if you to change it you can.
Thanks! I got all these butters from New Directions Aromatics :) And I LOVE cupuacu!
I wish we could get these butters in Australia thanks for the video it shows how to compare !
I'm thinking about making a thick body balm which one would u recommend???
It depends, but I generally don't choose any of these butters/oils as a first choice for much of anything. Check out this page for lots of free formulations: www.humblebeeandme.com/make-body-butter/. Happy making!
What would you use these for?
All kinds of things! Body butters, lip balms, shampoo bars, soaps-the sky is the limit :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe thank you very much. I am trying to get started doing this and have been trying to research everything :)
Any recipes in the works?
Yup! A conditioner bar :D
That last one is really interesting, I wonder if the color of it would make a lotion or balm dirty looking
I made a balm with it one upon a time... sadly the photo is kind of awful, but it does give a bit of an idea of colour (www.humblebeeandme.com/wood-shed-hippy-body-butter/). If I recall correctly the final product looked like caramel, not dirty :)
Humblebee & Me ok I checked out the recipe and I haven't heard of those butters either, Newbee here so can I get these butters from amazon?
I just added links to the post, so if you go back and check again all the ingredients are linked to Amazon sellers that carry them :) Happy making!
OK! That's strange! My Babassu refined oil, also from NDA, looks like the tucuma butter you opened. Mine is really hard chunks, not the least bit soft like the Babassu you have. Definitely not a coconut oil texture in any way. Weird!!
Weird! Is there any chance you got the babassu butter? I was eyeing that but ended up going with the oil. That is sooooo strange if not... might be worth an email to them to ask what is going on.
Humblebee & Me Aha! Yes, mine is Babassu refined butter. Mystery solved! 😀
to me, the ucuuba butter looks a bit like earwax
LOL I'll never un-see that!
What is this 👉STUFF🤷🏻♀️‼️
It’s pronounced babasooooooooo ;)
Babasoooooooooooooo 😄
The ucuuba butter smells like Gouda cheese
Ooh, what an interesting comparison! I'll have to get my tub out when I get home and check :D
"...so we're not putting anything we're touching back into the main container" proceeds to then touch the butter and put it back into the main container xD
Chris R
It wasn't squashed and smeared and played with before being put back. being pedantic is a common youtube commentor's trait!
😆 In any event all those tubs are just for personal use, so whatever haha.
Louise W it was a lighthearted joke. Lighten up
