That's true, but I hope you don't assume that having thinner hair means one has unhealthy follicles. The only difference with healthy(emphasis) thin or thick hair is the size of the follicle and the amount of hair strands that grow out of the follicle. Meaning, larger follicle produces more hair strands while smaller follicles will produce less hair strands, both healthy, beautiful and perfect..
I did, I was keeping it too dry! I basically wet spritz my hair with water 💧 and grease and it came back... just went back to what my mom used to do wash, braid and greased bluemagic pickone... it worked !
This is one of the best protective hair styles. If you want your hair to grow do this style. I miss it so much but got shy wearing it so I stopped. No manipulations nothing. It's the best
Great style. I've never had this before. Been a natural since 2000. My hair broke so badly after a strong relaxer at the time. Did a few big chops, now in growth mode. Found your channel inspirational. Nice to see sisters taking care of each other. Watching from Toronto. Greetings 🙏🏿
I adore African threading. I saw a photo shoot paying homage to the style and they African threaded the models hair with thread in different colors it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
I love your bubbly spirit and your happiness. I have tried it and it wasn't for breakage. I enjoyed it. Keep us updated on her growth and tell sister to stay encouraged. God bless you ladies
I just made this exact hair style for my daughter today for the first time. It came out very good as well. I like the way you put it together at the end. I should have watch this video before making mine
I’m Nigerian, I had a nanny that used to do this to my hair all the time when I was little but I remember there being hundreds in my head and my eyebrows being pulled into my hairline.
Great job Adanna ❤️ I’m interested in seeing the takedown though. I hope you video it. This is the first time I’m hearing about nape breakage as a result of stress. Thanks for bringing awareness to it ❤️
I would just lay down her babies but you are such an amazing sister.💙 Your sister’s hair is very thick and that’s a blessing. But you both can wear any style. Well done as always! 🙌🏽
This hairstyle gives me nostalgia as I had a childhood friend who would wear her hair this way. I’m going to try this in a similar style. Very lovely. ❤️
This is beautiful. I never seen this technique before.. But I'm so happy that you did it to show us. I want to learn how to do this. Or get this done. Just beautiful❤❤
One of the few hairstyles my high school allowed . I remember how much it hurt the first night though 😂 ( but that's just how it was done on me , it doesn't have to hurt ). But i do love all the patterns you can make with it
You did a Beautiful job threading your sisters hair I ♥️ it. I’ve never tried threading before, but I do know that there are a lot of great benefits using this method. Tyfs🥰🥰
I just happened to see your channel today, and it is quite lovely. You are very good teaching us how to wrap the hair. It was my pleasure to watch this; I will try one day. Greetings from Chicago Illinois! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
I love this protective natural hair style. I wish I could get this done to my hair but I live in Jamaica🇯🇲 and so far I have not found anyone that is able to master this skill.
My hair breaks if its loose too long. I have to wash it weekly to keep it from breaking, and as you mentioned sometimes stress doesn't allow for proper care. So protective styles work best for my hair. I use the rubber band method for my individuals (learned from your channel a few years ago) and I do that alot. I trim when I take them out
Well done Adanna. It is beautiful. I like the way you explain every step. You have given me confidence in styling my daughter's natural hair ( and mine). Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is gorgeous! I wonder if the bamboo, sateen or baby yarn would be better since it is a softer yarn. I definitely want to try this! You did that!❤❤❤
Hiii Adanna, Happy Saturday to you. Hi Lulu, Hope you both are doing well. Loved today's video and you did an phenomenal job doing Lulu's hair Adanna 👏🏾🙌🏾 Sending love always ❣️❣️❣️

Beautiful client👸🏾🥰 Beautiful talented stylist👸🏾🥰 My only concern is how much Black American and African women share their creative styles and traditions only for other non-black groups of people to TAKE the styles, claim/rename the styles, profit from what they've learned but rarely share their good fortune nor give proper credit where they got these styles. The theft really bothers me😡
I always use yarn for to plait my hair but I do not know that I need to moisturise my hair weekly. Thanks for today video. Benefit from it. Looking forward for your next video on afican styles.
I learned about it when I went back to natural in 2010. I've only done it myself a few times. But I'm doing it to my hair right now because I'm tired of doing nothing to it. lol
I love Lulu's expression. I hate sitting down to get my hair down too but it is a necessity. 🤣🤣🤣 I recently got sister locs I now have monthly sessions of sitting until they mature. I can't wait till they mature.
I’ve always heard to use acrylic yarn because it doesn’t dry out the hair, so definitely do some research. That’s what we used to use to do yarn twists and braids a few years back when those styles was popular.
Great job! I love your videos cause it’s so reflective of my truly kinky, coily, short fro. Also, what’s the song at the end? Please! I’m thinking Black is Gold by Wale but I can’t find the version with the beautiful female voice.
Hello. This was a very interesting video. Please- how long are the threads supposed to stay in for? What are the benefits of threading natural hair, especially if hair is already damaged? Thank you
Tbh, I keep my threads in for 3 months before taking them down, it really does last for quite a while 😄 Not too sure about the benefits if your hair is already damaged, I would say to just cut out the damaged hair, hope this helped a bit
Have you experienced nape hair breakage before? 🥺
Yes! My hairstylist cut all my hair off! I was so mad 😡
Yes that's me rn
Yes it was eczema. I cut it off in a tapered cut.
@@redblondechick omg! I would be 😩
@@lornique2662 Aww how’s that going for you and how are you working through it babes?
Regardless of the breakage, she has a full head of extremely thick hair which means she has healthy follicles.

I love what you did for your sister, taking care of her like that- even trying to uplift her spirit, so beautiful!! ❤🌹❤

The same thing happened to me
❤️❤️❤️
It's not a style. It's a way of life
I adore African threading. I saw a photo shoot paying homage to the style and they African threaded the models hair with thread in different colors it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
My grandmother used this technique over 50 years ago with white twine to grow out her grandkids hair.....memories 🥰
Her hair is beautiful in it’s 4c state. The finished style is beautiful as well.
Threading was the only style my mom felt confident doing on me as a child. She would add beads to it and a pony tail.
I love your bubbly spirit and your happiness. I have tried it and it wasn't for breakage. I enjoyed it. Keep us updated on her growth and tell sister to stay encouraged. God bless you ladies
I so like this hair style, it’s a natural hair straightener no heat, it’s great way to get the hair longer 💯👍🏾💐🤎💕
Smart move. She didn't need to cut off all her hair. She just needed to give it some tender loving care and keep it in protective styles.
I just made this exact hair style for my daughter today for the first time. It came out very good as well. I like the way you put it together at the end. I should have watch this video before making mine

It's beautiful! Nothing else like natural hair.
Such a lovely video to watch. Natural hair is a chore but a rewarding one 😉. Loved the threading.
Tight low pony tails and buns can definitely break off the nape hair. Beautiful threading style Adanna.💕
Wow i want this ,i had a friend who passed on RiP irene she used to make my hair in my childhood i loved it!
Love it! I tried this on myself once before and it was a bit more challenging than I thought lol, but you have inspired me to try it again!
this has been my hair style on and off, since December... 🥰
I've tried it! Its stretches you hair really nicely 👌 I love how you styled it boo absolutely beautiful 😍
Ikrrr! It gives such an amazing stretch! ❤️
praying for your sister sis!
I would like you get a video on when you taking the hair style out, to show how her hair looks 👍🏾👌🏾🙌🏾

I do it to my hair all the time not very hard to do just watch UA-cam video
I also do this hair style on my hair. It's the simplest ive found to do
Yes. I just finished my PhD and was under a lot of stress. I’ve decided to just cut it all off. Maybe a tapered fade:
CONGRATULATIONS ! 🥳
Congratulations! And I love a nice tapered fade (I’m biased because I have one 😂)
Congratulations 👏🏾🎉
Neat. Whats your PhD in?
Excellent work Adana, love the thickness of her hair. You look gorgeous sis.❣️
This is absolutely refreshing and beautiful. I love it!
I do thread all the time, it really grew my natural hair and it is just a year and some months
This was the style growing up, i find myself doing this style on my daughters a lot ...thanks 4 sharing
This is a beautiful style on her. I would love to try on it on myself 👏🏾👏🏾

The threading is beautiful. I’ve never done it before but I think I’ll try by threading my fringe. 🖤
It's my all time favourite natural hairstyle and it came out so well. Plan on installing them soon
I thought am the only one who like African threading ooo

C'est super joli.
Je ne savais pas que l'on pouvait utiliser cette technique pour éviter la casse des cheveux.
Merci.
Hi Adanna. I have tried this style as a little girl. It really stretches the hair. She looks cute😘👌
