You can also order the collapsible "slow feed" animal feed bowls. Aside from collapsing flat (good for storing and traveling), the have rubber pieces sticking up from the bottom to slow the animal from getting to all their food. As well, the rubber pieces add good agitation when lathering. The bowls will sit flat on a countertop (not wobble).

Might not have sold me on it as shaving gear, but it is DOPE as a hat. Thanks my friend !
Cheers 🤣 and on the plus side it's waterproof to boot 👍 Stay safe and have a good New Year 👍
any Pucks, any hard soaps or ARKO Sticks will work? You can mix and match old soaps? to fit in any mug or cup that you like to use. like Mitchells' Wool Fat? Cut the bar soap up, put in a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, microwave for a minute or so? if it foams up, stop ? let cool you just went it to congeal' place in the sun, until soap hardens use dry brush more water i use Dove soaps there cheap and good wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
Cheers Larry, the bowl works with any soap that I've tried it with. All the best to you and the family for Christmas 👍

@toddd7444 both are bit hard to get in the UK mate but if I see 'em, I'll give em a go 👍
CHEERS MATE I SURE WILL From Las Vegas, USA, Ho Ho, Merry Christmas to all of you. Larry Wheelchair @@YMMVShaves
I bought the bowl on your recommendation I received it today and tried it out. I agree this is the best bowl, easily made superb lather. Thank you for making the video.
Thanks, pleased it worked for you 👍
Thankyou for that. Just starting to use a safety razor and cream again. I’ve ordered one. As you say a quarter of the price and indestructible. Top man.
You're welcome 👍
One thing I've noticed is how the round contour of the bowl reduces the amount of lather that gets onto the handle and your hands. Bowls with vertical sidewalls seem to splash the lather all up onto your hands from the videos I've seen.
Ta, it's a good bowl, easy to use, unbreakable and good value for money IMHO 👍
Great bowl Martyn. I think that your lathering technique demonstration was excellent 👍👌
Have a great weekend.
Very best regards Gordon.
Cheers Gordon 👍 bang for buck the bowl is spot on having used it with soaps, creams, synthetic and natural hair brushes for a week and it bounces... 👍
lyour Lickimat looks very useful, I have normaly the same design in my glass bowls, cost here in mexico around 1 dollar , so very cheap and works very well , bur i.e. for travelling your green Lickimat is very great, greetings from mexico robert
Thanks Robert 👍
super idea never thought of this type of bowel . thank u
Not a problem 👌
Brilliant! Thank you for sharing sir! Much appreciated!
Cheers James 👍
Thank you for this video. I bought it today.
Hope you enjoy it!
Cool! Just ordered one. Cheers for this matey.
Enjoy it mate, time to watch the rugby 👍
Hey, Martyn. That bowl appeared on my Facebook feed the other day and I was wondering how good it would be as a shaving bowl. Now I know! Nice one. Great video. Wrap yourself in silver foil and stand near the microwave - the aliens won't detect you 😀
LOL, thanks Mark 👍 As a shaving bowl it's pretty good, a decent size, easy to grip and it bounces well... Stay safe mate 👍
You could trim the nodules a little to make them a little less aggressive for your brush and make removing the lather easier. Just an idea.
They're silicone and not aggressive in the slightest as they're rounded and they haven't damaged a brush so far, but thanks for the comment.
@@YMMVShaves Thanks for your response. I'll take a look. Good luck with the channel.
Hi, great video👍I see you are a fan of Giles Shaving Co bowls. I have the pedestal and his latest shallow bowl. Great quality and value in my opinion.
I hadn't come across your channel until a subscriber mentioned you in a comment on my last video. I have just subscribed and look forward to catching up on some of your previous videos😃
Thanks Gary 👍 Ross makes a good bowl; the pedestal bowl is a favourite of mine; the only advantage the Lickimat has over it is that it bounces.... Enjoy the binge watch 👍
Nice one Martyn. I absolutely do NOT need another bowl... (goes to check them out on the website anyway) 😂🍜
You don't need it, but have you ordered one yet? 🤣 🤣 🤣 👍
@@YMMVShaves No: I must try to resist! Liked the 'pop-up' one too😁
@@koosk41 The pop up ones are good for travel, search Amazon for collapsible slow feeder bowl 👍
How's on the long run on the brushes?
So far, no adverse effect on any of the brushes 👍
@@YMMVShaves Got one and must say that there's a flaw, the stink of rubber.
So far every lather became condom scented ...
@@mosconisadepto6172 Never sniffed one personally, so I'll take your word for it 😂
Are there some UK shaving forums or online places in the UK to purchase a made in England Gillette Tech "flat bottom". Not much here in the U.S. on Ebay and Etsy, and I saw in some US forums that nice condition English Techs could be had in the UK at reasonable prices. Any suggestions on where I could shop for one via online UK sources?
Cheers!
Try searching eBay UK or eBay France, they sometimes come up on those areas of eBay 👍
Cracking little video mate!
Thanks Lee 👍
That’s a fine looking lather bowl indeed!
Cheers Justin 👍 hope you're well and stay safe my friend 👍
@@YMMVShaves cheers Martyn! We are all great here, I wish the same for you my brother!
Nice video Martyn
Thanks Samuel 👍
still recommend this bowl in 2023? thanks
I do, it still works very well 👍
what bowl name is this the lather is very soooo quick
Lickimat Wobble bowl; there's a link in the video description 👍
@@YMMVShaves ok
does it have a plastic scent that messes with the smell of your creme?
Nope, it doesn't affect the scent of the soap or mess your with brush fibres 👍
LOL, the automatic close captioning starts this video with "Shaving Balls"
Not on this channel 🤣😂👍
Nice Nice Nice
Thinking of geting one.
🤘😃🤘
Thanks Matti, it works well and it bounces... hope you're well and stay safe my friend 👍

🤘😃🤘
Almost a good as my bowl, Martyn: a plastic Japanese microwave meal bowl with dollops of hot glue as bumps! Not far off.
That'd work as well, hot glue and duck tape, the solution to many a third world problem 👍
Looks like my dear old nan's swimming cap!
I couldn't quite squeeze my head into it.... 👍
I just ordered mine.
Green or orange? I forgot to mention the available colours in the video? 👍
The Junarter 4 pc. Collapsible Slow Feed Dog bowl from Amazon works great, plus it comes with a brush and a mixing paddle. The brush you can use for cleaning your safety razors, and can you ever have too many mixing paddles? 😂
This bowl only cost me around $5.00 USD including tax over here in the states. That combined with a Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements shaving brush for around $26.00, it’s a great option for poor people like myself.
I have a QShave scuttle, and this cheap bowl blows it away!
The collapsible bowls are pretty good 👍
Yes sir, fits right in my Dopp kit, can’t find anything wrong with it whatsoever. The bottom is also covered in suction cups, so you can stick it right to your sink after making your lather, and never have to worry about knocking it over.
The Lfpkixise Silicone Dog Lick Bowl works great too. I bought the smaller one, but the inside of the bottom has the same asymmetrical bone pattern on both, and it lathers in no time too, the small one is too shallow, IMO.
I’m betting the Mighty Paw Dog Lick Bowl from Amazon would be another lather beast for at home, with its 4 different textures therefore asymmetrical texturing. I’ll let you know how it is when I get one.
Update: The Faveetie Licking Pad for Dogs a 2-pack identical to the Junarter, but comes with another bowl that is laid out like a pig’s face, this bowl is even a little better than the Junarter. This 2-pack cost me under $5.00 USD with my Prime account, another great option!
As I suspected, the Mighty Paw Dog Lick Bowl makes a supreme lather in no time! It’s also the perfect depth!
So, what I’ve learned is asymmetrical texturing on the dog bowls I’ve bought seem to make excellent lather quickly.
The Faveetie 2 pack is the highest-value, most versatile for home or travel. The Mighty Paw is the best for at home, and the Lfpkixise is the best priced for an at home bowl and quite effective too.
I will try with a crappy brush now, see if that makes a difference, and report back.
How bout the best brow trimmer in the world?
Send it me and I'll happily run it thru it's paces.... 👍
I use a small oval mashing baby bowl when travelling. It's plastic with silicon on the base and handle, has textured lines in half the inside of the bowl and is the perfect size for your shave brush not to fall inside after lathering....it was dirt Cheap too,
There's plenty of options available that aren't made for shaving but work well, that's for sure 👍
You remind me of tier-one operators in the UK. Can you do a lather comparison with this bowl and a non-textured bowl?
Ta, see what I can do👍
just picked one up from petbarn,(aussie pet shop) and its the best lather bowl i've ever had
Enjoy it, the way it worked surprised me 👍
