The Taylor 214 ce has been my main guitar for almost 10 years. Guitars have come, guitars have gone. When I want to play an instrument that sounds like me, I pick up the Taylor 214 ce… Bad rhyme, awesome video! Thanks Smitty!
absolutely love mine, thanks for watching
Good discussion and lots of great key points. I would wager that this is currently Taylor's most popular guitar due to materials, name, and price point. It's not a negative, but I think this would move from a great discussion to an outstanding one if you model yourself playing the guitar more and discuss what you think about strumming and picking, and various positions on the guitar. Nicely done!
thanks for the feedback , I appreciate it
Great video! Couple of points- the gloss finish, black binding and aerocase would lead me to believe this is a 214 ce plus as opposed to a 214 ce. Also, the long zipper on the back of the case by the shoulder straps are to tuck and zip the straps up in case you don't want to use the straps and carry it like a normal case (without the straps dangling and snagging on stuff).
thanks for your comment, and thank you for watching

I have a 214ce (white binding). I love it. It's definitely a professional working instrument. I bought mine in 2020.
Just ordered a Taylor 214ce Koa DLX! Can't wait for it to get here!
I love my 214ce -that Koa should be excellent, enjoy
@@SmittyGeek It has been the best guitar i’ve played so far🔥
Just ordered the Rosewood version , 5 minutes ago . 1200 bucks , but hey 👋 , can‘t wait to feel and play it . PayPal credit is your friend , I‘d say ..
@@michaelworse6034 totally worth it, thanks for watching
Looks like this is the plus version cause of the aero case
thank you for watching
I have the nylon string version of this guitar. Fantastic quality !!!
I can imagine so, thank you for watching
Great video Smitty .I am thinking of buying the Taylor 214CE Deluxe Koa back and sides , your thoughts , cheers Den .
buddy of mine has the koa and loves it , definitely a good guitar may a little different tone , I would recommend playing one of you can , thnx 4 watching #seekthegeek
I just ordered a 214ce Deluxe Limited Transparent Blue. I own 3 other Taylor’s.
WOW! I love my Taylor. thanks for watching!
ive been looking at that blue one , you can never have too many guitars
Awsome review 😀! Wich one would you choose between the Taylor 214ce and the Martin D-10E ? Thanks !
thank you , I have never really been a fan of MARTINS.. I have always found them a little to0 rigid for me. They sound incredible but I just never could get my fingers comfortable on the fretboard.. I know BLUEGRASS people will not play anything but a MARTIN but they do a lot of finger picking so maybe the neck on a MARTIN lends itself better for that.. I know everyone has a guitar they just can't live without.. That's what makes no two guitars the same,, they all have their own character .
@@SmittyGeek Thanks for the reply 🙏 !
Nice video
thank you for watching
Thats a plus too champ
thnx

coming, thank you for watching
I just bought a second hand Taylor 214ce.
cant go wrong with this guitar, good step up - thanks for watching
I have a 214 ce. It came with a hard case and this is not a 214 ce, maybe it's a dlx.
could be , either way the 214ce is great guitar
Bro, thank U, but U made me a mistake. This is 214ce PLUS, not 214ce. Lot of people U make wrong choice. Thank U!
Correct!my mistake ..the plus has a gloss top . only real difference...... base model is satin. thanks for point out .. and thank you for watching.
@@SmittyGeek the bag is different too i think so
After only 2 years of owning my Taylor 224ce, the first 3 frets at the b and high e string regions are showing considerable wear. I am not impressed!
sorry to hear that. thank you for watching
Capo user? I am a heavy capo user and my first three or four frets on any acoustic I have ever owned are toast after a year and a half, that's why I only refret with stainless steel frets.
@@axilleas no, hardly ever use capo. Just play my guitar a lot.
@@gtrdoc911 that’s a first for me, that much fret damage without a capo
Out of the box it fn sucks
