Just bought this guitar and it sounded and played perfect out of the box. I was going to get a 314ce and this sounded and played much better. Crazy that this has gold tuners and the 314 doesn't. This guitar is absolutely beautiful and plays like butter

This is the 214ce-K DLX. Full-gloss body, small diamond fretboard inlays, hardshell case. The 214ce-K has a satin finish, dot inlays and comes with a structured gig bag.

Does it have mic as well as under saddle pickup choice? I'm looking at a used regular 314ce and it has both with a switch for choosing.

I have three guitar center version which has a different look. Great midrangey and woody tone. I compared it to Gutierrez
Thousands more expensive and I genuinely thought it was the best . I played a few different ones at different stores . Some where very bright and thin and others were thick mine was spanky and in the middle, very responsive to digging into the strings . Love it !

Interesting! Was it the same model number?

I just noticed all my typos , whoops. It’s a 224 ce actually, atleast from the top of my head. I tried to find a video or photo, couldn’t. Iv seen it a handful of times over the past few years .
It has a figured koa top that is like honey brown. Though it seems hit or miss with the figured top now . I’m assuming it’s called limited edition exclusive 224 guitar center or something to that effect . I love the koa tone

The one in this video sounds very nice too probably a smidge more top than mine. Taylor’s are fantastic all across the range

Really like those rose gold tuners. Definitely made in Mexico, but they do a top notch job. Same as any American shop the product that goes out comes down to Quality Control doing their job. Every once in a while something is going to slip by no matter where it is made. Mexico, Japan and now even China do a great job.

    • @RamonaMusicCenter

Absolutely agree! It really is up to the Quality control manager at each company. I have some favorites from each factory for sure!

Just got one of these and you are spot on. The sound is actually a little bassier on mine but , yeah it sounds like a Taylor. Compared it to a couple of others ie a 514ce and and a grand pacific, and honestly it sounded way better. And several hundred ££££s less. Needs a slight set up but other than that, pretty good for a non USA made guitar.

I heard everything under 300 series is made in mexico. Quality is still great!

Yes, the 224, here in Colorado, stays true and stable even in dry climates. It's amazing. My 224 opened up around the second year, and the low end is great. "Caramel" buttery sound.

What is the "strap button module" you mention? I checked Music Medic and it's a woodwind store.

Tag inside says 200 series 30 seconds in the video so maybe there are some variations. on the koa model. Tag was 100% 214ce Koa. Maybe a limited line for certain vendors? I know some models have a new deluxe trim package.

Good Catch - I didnt realize that they switched the 200 series down to the Tecate factory. I bought a 214 awhile back and it was made in San Diego so a big assumption on my part. I knew the babys and 100's were made there but thanks for pointing it out!

ExCUSE me. 214s are NOT made in the US. They are made a stones throw south of the border 😂 in Tecate
