I❤ the daith. My migraine is gone with that daith..,
I got mine done about 4 years ago with migraines so bad the doctors were considering putting me on disability at 21 years old. They were 3-5 days a week and no medication helped at all. Got it done and I haven’t had even a headache since. Truly a life saver for me. I went into with little faith going “worst case it’s a cute piercing” and it worked!
Placebo
@@happyskating2000 still worked
@@broom9155 you have less/ no symptoms. the doesn't mean it was the piercing.
@@happyskating2000 still works tho who cares
@@happyskating2000 if the only thing she did differently was to get a piercing and that ended the symptoms, then it's not a placebo. Additionally the placebo effect is temporary so a 4-year track record is impressive.
Anyone else find it weird that these guys are talking about piercings in an educational way, yet have no visible piercings?
yeah i wouldn't want to be pierced by them... same with a tattoo artist with fuck all tattoos. They will lack empathy and patience when it comes to the pain... I am actually a body piercer from New Zealand and customers love seeing that I have the piercing/s they've signed up for. I have 21 all up
Watch piercing videos from before lockdown. Johnny is very gentle and understanding with piercings, complications, and great with jewelry suggestions.
johnny has had nose piercings and ear piercings. he's the best piercer they have he's really caring and careful. harout isn't a piercer - he's an owner.
@@Librat37 Johnny did have piercings but he took them out as he couldn’t stop sleeping on them. His brother doesn’t even do piercings. They run their mum’s business. Their piercers all have piercings and if you go back and watch their videos (I was watching before they had like 7k subscribers, let alone 500k) and I can say I would love to be pierced by Johnny. He’s kind, soft and knows a lot and has a key eye for curation and style.
U don’t have to have piercings to be educated on them and know hot to do them properly
I struggled with migraines for a decade and took pills often. I got my piercing 5 months ago and haven’t had a migraine or headache since then. My quality of life has been dramatically improved! Love it! 💕
I tried this in one ear after suffering from migraines for 20 years. It helped so much that I went had the other one done. The pain I had before with a migraine was a 10/10. Sensitive to even blinking. Lots of vomiting and insomnia. Since my piercings, I still have migraine attacks, but the pain rarely surpasses 6/10. I have vomited once since then (instead of multiple times a month). I can actually lay in the quiet and listen to a video when my head hurts. I can have a conversation. It's been literally life changing. The results are better than ant medication I've tried. I'm forever grateful. And I can still use ear buds lol.
You know a true migraine sufferer isn't bullshitting when they know exactly how long its been since their last traumatic migraine... mine was April 2017.
Daith was my last hope for my migraines, it wasn’t doctor recommended. Though she said it’s just another option, since I had chronic migraines for three years. Yet yes, they’re very much right. It doesn’t help everyone, don’t depend on it. It’s just another opinion, that could POSSIBLY help somehow
MJ • it was my last hope after 20 years of chronic migraines and it actually helped so for me it was literally a miracle
I got mine after 18 years of headaches it’s been great
So it is really helps with severe headache/migraine?
It helped mine but didn’t totally stop them
Sure helped my migraines. Well worth it.
I got my daith in October, personally this piercing was the best to heal out of all my piercings after 2 weeks it stoped hurting and I had no problem wearing headphones. I never got bumps and I still clean it twice a day!
Very lucky
sameeeee i have a total of 6 cartilage piercings that all formed bumps but my daith didn’t... lol i also wear earbuds even though it’s not recommended 🥴
sameee
June Kim I tried and it gave me lumps from moving it too much and wearing headphones
hi!! i just got my daith done and i have a lot of dried blood at the top of the piercing but i can’t rlly clean it all out cause it’s hard to see. how did u make sure it was clean??
I got my daith pierced 7 months ago. Must admit it was the least painful piercing ive had. I got a bump on it 2 months later. However it was quickly resolved and 7 months it seems completely fine! Has not been problematic at all.
I LOVE my Daith! I wear all kinds of cute clickers. I work soo yes Stethoscope is used . I just flip it up do my thang & go on with my day. I used non medicated saline nasel spray. Liquid Dial gold antibacterial soap while healing a Year! Shower soaks. But Never moved piercing. Ear buds not a problem. I’m 61 young rockin it!!! Love You guys!!!
Thank you for this! I'm 18 and I game a lot and I was worried about them hurting!
❣️💕
Can you wear a straight clicker in ot or does it have to be curved?
This comment was so helpful. I’m thinking about getting a daith, but I work in the medical field and was worried about the stethoscope
@@juicy1219 Keep in mind this is after it is healed- Stethoscope used.& ear buds.
I got my daith after numerous doctor visits for headaches and migraines. While it hasn't completely resolved my issues, it has helped tremendously! I always advise anyone that asks me to talk to their doctors first though. Headaches and migraines can always be a sign of something worse going on and it's better to be safe than sorry! 💕
I had my daith pierced a year ago, still hasnt healed and i still get migraines 😂 do love it though
My right ear took almost 2 years to heal right
Same I’ve had mine a year & it still isn’t healed
@@natashaarchuleta6643 has it healed yet?
You have to get them on both ears ☹️
I’ve had mine a year and no migraines so far!! But still hasn’t fully healed yet. Blah.
My daith is my last piercing before lockdown... Still healing and requiring a lot of care and attention👂🏻
What you said! I got it like 2 weeks before. This is the worse healing process ever!
I’ve had a daith piercing for years now it was very long too heal but not to problematic just make sure you don’t sleep on the ear as much and try not to move it around unless cleaning it I hope you enjoy your piercing ! :)
Cinnamon The pomm I was listening to music and it's messed up my ear and I'm waiting for it to heal
I’ve had my daith pierced since April 2019 so a little over a year ago and I haven’t had one headache since!! (Also helps with hangovers 😉😂)
No it doesn't.
Watching this with a fully healed daith and earbuds in😂 never had any problems, i could sleep on it the same day and it was healed in 3 months without any bumps. My rook was way worse...
Yea, I promise that it did not heal in 3 months.
@@Tattooedgaymeri promiss you it was tho. It was the easiest to get done AND to heal. I have 15 piercings in my ears. rook and conch on my left ear were the worst and the daith and helix on my right easy as cake. The daith is litteraly IN your ear so i could sleep on it that same week. Don't talk shit about something you know nothing about hun
I just got my daith done and I basically have airpods in 24/7 do you think I will be good ?
How do y'all get earbuds in ? I tried and they wouldn't fit without pushing my daith in a painful way, I've had mine for 5 months and it's healed but earbuds aren't an option anymore
@@taniabarrios7377 i have a ring in my daith, not a banana piercing. So nothing sticks out and it lays flat in my ear. Not a problem wearing earbuds at all!
SO glad you mentioned the ear buds issue!! I can't live without my Airpods! 😂❤
I asked my doctor about it and he said “it doesn’t hurt to try” I’m sure it’s just placebo but I get migraines much less than I used to.
a lot of people go to an acupuncturist and get the spot marked before they get it pierced since everyone’s pressure points vary
I hate cartilage piercing healing time. Took my helix a very long agonizing year. My Daith? Other than a little pressure when I was pierced, it never hurt. It healed so fast, so scared to get the other side done because miracles only happen once.
Didn’t talk abt how hard it is to change the jewelry 😂
I’ve had my daith for about a month now, absolutely no complications as of yet. Doesn’t hurt at all but I still try to avoid sleeping on it/moving it. I’m also just not prone to bumping bc of some medical issues I have. My headaches have been slim to none since I got it which is nice but I will say I had a killer headache after I got it bc of the pressure. Just some Advil took it away though
I get migraine symptoms virtually everyday and while the drugs bring the pain down the rest of the symptoms make me feel like I'm drunk almost all the time. My system processes medications very quickly so I keep on having to increase my drug intake or change medications to get relief. I got my daith pierced two days ago in my left ear and that's generally the side where I get most symptoms originating from. The relief was IMMEDIATE and has masked the symptoms almost completely. I'm taking a lot less medicine now and I'm hoping to take even less as the weather settles down. Yay!!!
Mine hurt like hell to get. My daith is a little bit shallow, and my piercer told me he would do it, but let me know that it might take longer to heal because I had more cartilage to get through compared to someone with a more defined daith. Boy oh boy did it hurt and the jewelry insertion made me see stars. I was so careful not to move it when cleaning it, and it was only tender for about a week. It healed up perfectly with no bumps. Still get migraines, but I got it more for the looks anyway. It might just be my favorite piercing I have!
Johnny did my daith piercing its been almost 2 years no bumps or anything.
how did you clean it
@@frannypie. regular salt and water.
The piercer I went to ended up piercing my daith twice because the first time she used a needle that was too small. That was back in January and my ear definitely hasn’t healed and I’ve got the stupid bumps. I’ve never had that happen with any of my other 11 other piercings. 😭
I had a bunch of problems with mine at first, when the piercer had put a horseshoe barbell in my daith. When I downsized I decided to put an 8mm curved titanium barbell in it. Best choice ever. It settled right down, as the barbell didn't move about or get bumped as much as a ring would have. And I chose a turquoise blue one that looked really pretty and tied in with my turqoise and silver cubic zirconia ear jewelry. My cartilege piercings always take 18 months to fully settle down and be fully healed. Even my earlobes take me 3 months to heal. I have to wear good quality titanium labrets to get most of mine to heal, but my body still migrated half of my piercings out. I never sleep on my piercings, and try to leave them alone as much as possible. I think I'm just a slow healer because of my medical issues. The pain management side of things is from Auricular Acupucture. Needles get poled in your ear just like accupuncture, with each point representing a point of the body. When I had my rook pierced it helped a bit with my pelvic pain, which I wasn't expecting - I just got it because it looks gorgeous 😁
Ive had my daith for close to a month now and the botton still hurts when i clean it, i sometimes also feel pain when washing behind my ear but at least if helped with my migraines(after 9 years of suffering)
I have my daiths pierced on both ears. My right side was perfect!!! It healed fast, no bumps or issues whatsoever! My left side, not so much!! Took a year to heal, and still get bumps on both sides of the piercing.
my daith healed in a couple months and has helped with migraines also i can easily put ear buds in you just have to make sure the ear bud is small.
I had my daith pierced at Maria Tash, and it’s seriously my favorite piercing ever. Because it’s inside of the ear it healed easily, no bumping, due to the quality design of the jewelry, and no infection! Plus, I would lose my left Airpod Pro all the time without it. 😂 i just lift it and put the Airpod in the ear, so beneath the piercing. I’m thinking to get a daith also my right year, cause these airpods pro keep falling of otherwise. Strongly recommend getting one, especially if you can get it at Maria Tash, their service and expertise is totally worth it!!
Getting my daith next week!!
how is it?
I’m scared to watch.. I love my daith 😂
Got mine pierced 5 days ago, because I think it looks adorable! I never had headache or anything, but now I have a strange feeling that goes from my left side, that's pierced, to my right side and gives me headache every day 😢. Sometimes I feel sick. I will wait another couple of weeks to see if there's any improvement, if not I'm gonna have to have it taken out ufortunately. But good for those of you whom it has helped with migraines though.
Has your piercing improved?
@@ryn991 unfortunately not. I eventually had to take it out.
@@gerriettevanewijk Oh, that’s very unfortunate :(
Got mine a year ago. I love it!! Its cute and I do have less headaches. Someone said it's a placebo effect and I honestly don't care as long as I don't have them as much. 😅🤣🤣🤣
Do you can easily change the piercing?
Mine fully healed in 3 and I can wear earphones perfectly ! 😍😍 ! Had about one month that was literal hell but just got it in February and I can wear my AirPods perfectly!
Do you have a hoop in it or a bar? As I’m thinking of changing to a hoop but I want to be able to wear my AirPods still
@@izzysmadness7849 i have a hoop and i can still wear my Airpods
Wait so I have to downsize? I literally just got it pierced yesterday and spent over 300$ for my clicker... 14 gauge I believe? But it’s lifetime warranty for the jewelry if a gem falls, it breaks or whatever
I've had my daith piercing for almost 4 months now (Idk if it makes a difference, but it was pierced with a curved barbell) & it has been healing AMAMZINGLY. The only problem I've had with it so far is that the first week the bottom ball fell off & I had to get it put back on (just imagine, the soreness was still radiating then I had to go back to get all that pressure on the piercing all over again!). I know this is a no no, but I quit cleaning it regularly with saline solution after about 2 months. Still feels perfectly fine (I do use a qtip with saline every now & then when I clean my ears) & I have been wearing earbuds id say for probably 2 or 3 months. Honestly feels completely healed, but I'm DEFINITELY not switching jewelry out until closer to one year.
However my rook healed with zero problems. I just think my inner ear piercings love healing lol.
Hi with it curved gold barbell u think I can hide it from my parents
You guys even have one? Your opinion doesn't seem legit and your statements are just possibilities. I have one and it is nothing like that.
my daith took 11 months, i’ve had it for 3 years, i have a bar that goes through it and i flip it up to put earbuds in, migraines, still there
I changed my daith after 3 months and it was absolutely fine it's my only piercing that hasn't got infected and I can still use earphones anddddd has helped a lot with my migraines
Got my daith as a last resort for my chronic headaches, I was so hoping it would help but it did nothing 😭 It’s healed so quickly though which was at least one good thing !
My Daith healed within 7 months. I have found headphones that are comfortable for me. I have had less migraines with mine. I have still some but not as much. I have a blue hoop for mine. I had a curved barbell for mine till 7th month.
I love my daith!! it healed in a year. no bumps. when I use headphones I swing the peircing upside down and they fit. i want my other daith done soon.
i actually had headaches 3-5 times a day and after i got my daith pierced it has gone down tremendously
My first took about a year to heal. I got it originally with a bar and was swapped about 6-9 to a ring and never had an issue. The earbuds are fine unless there jewelry decided to swing forward. I didn't try them until a few months after though. My second was pierced with a hoop and is doing well but i won't try changing it until I've had it a year
I got mine to see if it would help with my migraines because most days I would have one. If I'm awake and feel the migraine start I can lightly pull on the earring to stimulate the pressure point & 9 out of 10 times the migraine will go away. But if I wake up with one it doesn't help.
On the comment about it getting in the way of a stethoscope, I'm a nurse and mine has never gotten in the way of using mine. And I don't have any problems wearing earbuds. I just flip my ring up & they fit just fine. And the ring I wear in my daith piercing is the purple opal that I purchased from Lulu's! I love it, it is dainty & very comfortable. It's the only ring I wear. 🥰
Mine healed in 6 months. And I use Raycon's with my daith and I'm flip my ring out to wear them and I have no pain. And I can attest that it has eliminated my migraines. I only have my right daith pierced and I only get migraines on the left side of my head now. I'll be getting my left ear done as soon as my piercer opens back up. I think that it doesn't work for some because the needle doesn't go through or right next to the nerve in that part of the ear that affects migraines. It seems to have done so with mine, thankfully. I was "pierced" with a curved barbell and I'm one of those people who are willing to wait for healing before moving on to the jewelry I really want and now I have a mermaid heart hoop and I love it. I also taught myself to sleep on my back right after I got it pierced so I wouldn't mess it up. I bought it in a pair and can't wait to be able to put it in my left ear.
So what diameter should it pieced with initially?
It’s proper pronunciation ( not Americanized ) is DAY TH 😉
Wrong. It’s actually pronounced “doth.” That’s how the guy who created it intended for it to be pronounced, but everyone says it how it looks
Doth
My daith was the easiest to heal. No swelling, no bumps, ear pod fines once healed, nothing touched it since it's more on the in side of the ear so had no irritation. Slept on that side just fine. Just a little hard to change on my own!
Minded mine helped and I have chronic migraine before I got my days piercing I would have 3 to 4 migraines a week a week and now I don’t very much get migraines at all I just get headaches most the time a little bit I got a headache here and there but it never goes as far as a migraine like I used to where they make me throw up now that I have my death pierced
Got mine done five days ago. Haven’t had any pain. It only pinched for a second while getting it done. I have to say I didn’t get it because of headaches but I haven’t had one since. I’m hoping it heals with no issues 🤞🏼
Thank you I have been having problems cleaning mine so this was very helpful!!!!
my daith piercing is my absolute favorite. i have 3 helix piercing, a conch piercing, and a flat piercing that all formed bumps but my daith piercing didn’t 🥴 maybe i got lucky with my daith people
Healing horrible! Looks amazing and i dont have a problem with airpods at all, also i didnt have migraine since i got daith but healing pain in the ass...
That sneeze just made my day!😂 I'm getting ready to go get mine pierced sunday! I'm glad I watched your videos on Daith piercings so I know what I need to look out for especially when he is prepping to pierce!
I really wanted to get one but I’m studying to be a PA and I realized the other day it would be hard to get one after taking a patients blood pressure and it bothered my trag. Sucks cuz I REALLY wanted it! 😕😭
Hoop or curved barbell for initial piercing?
Either we personally seen better results with a hoop specifically only for this piercing
@@Shopluluave Thank for the fast response!
I got mine in hopes of helping with my migraines. Sadly it doesn't help me out, but it does work for others.
I had a bump come up on one end of my Daith but I popped it (light blood) and it never came back. I can also have ear buds in and no issues, thank goodness.
Same experience for me too.
I just got my daith Monday and I’m going thru my swelling stage ... which is annoying .. but I’m about to order the spray noooow!
I have both mine done. I got them in July 2019. I love them so much they definitely healed ya their own pace lol. It was an on and off for the healing sometimes it felt healed for weeks then it would hurt and have crusties for weeks🤷♀️ I ended up switching my rings in January and they finally ended up healing all of the way I think it definitely completes my ears!! They didn’t hurt but neither did my other piercings so that’s definitely a personal thing.
What is so bad about bad I have multiple cartilage piercings that doesn’t bother me
My daith took more than a year, my piercer said it depends on individual bodies, plus yeah of course improper care prolongs healing. In my experience with the first one, the bumps wont be there forever usually unless its scarring. My issue is I roll around in my sleep and that has caused some issues with healing, Ive heard using a travel pillow can prevent that.
I think horseshoe jewelry is usually used in these, I wouldnt use clickers bc in addition to movement, youd have those hinges going through the piercing
for some it may not help but mine slightly did help. i got mine on my left side since my migraines were more in my left eye and we’re getting really bad. i am now on prescribed medication but the earring did help the nausea and throwing up for me.
I guess I really lucked out then. I got my daith done almost a year ago, yes to help with migraines which it did, but it healed super fast! I’m able to wear any type of ear buds with no problems at all and didn’t get any bumps. I got my industrial done in December and it’s felt healed for at least a couple of months now. Never got any type of pain or discomfort from either and within a month it had stopped being sensitive, which was amazing and perfect timing since I started working with 5-7 year olds who are on the spectrum and they would pull on it.
I use barbels in my daith. What’s wrong with barbles on daiths
My daith piercing healed faster than tragus but after a couple of years it migrated to the point that the jewel was held by a very thin layer of skin like the cartilage just pushed it out of something. It wasn't painful at all and I have a tiny scar on that area
I got both my daiths pierced and they def help me with migraines!
I hate the fact I've had mine a year and a half and it's still not healed 🤨
Have you tried switching out the jewelry?
@@brookegibson yeah I battled on for almost 4 years and gave up
I got mine done 1 1/2 years ago, it took aaaggeeess to heal and got infected allot. Was an absolute pain for about a year and couldnt wear headphones in it for months but now it’s healed it’s 100% fine and doesn’t bother me at all. I can wear headphones without any annoyance.
That’s why I wore a curve barbell in mind be well it was healing and when it was done I put a ring on it
I always wear earbuds.... and I have my tragus and daith on the same ear 🙃
i feel like mine fully healed in around four months and usually my piercings take years to heal
I love my daith but it felt like I had a headache in my ear for a week afterwards 😔
I wanted this piercing so bad but I ended up not having the right anatomy for it. I love how it looks though. At least I was able to do an industrial which was my second favorite
Yeah, with the death you can’t get the pretty jewellery but you can like when you initially get it pierced you can’t but when it’s finally healed you can like mine is four years old so mine has its pretty jewellery and it’s a horseshoe shaped bar with some butterfly two blue butterflies I’ve had mine for four years though
Hi, I just wanna ask is it normal that my Daith Piercing doesn't hurt for 3 days now?
It will take generally 6 months to heal and it will have a flare ups along the way. Advise with your local piercer for any complications
@@Shopluluave thank you! XD
The last piercer i went to he said, "i dont have to tell you this considering your amount of ear jewlery and lip but..." Then he continued on with the cleaning peocess and what to do and what not to do
Anyone know how bad a daith piercing hurts compared to a rook or a helix?
Daith piercing tend to reject often, i know quite a bit of people with that piercing and some of them got it pitched on both sides and both size rejected. It's a difficult and finicky one.
Is it normal for the piercing to ache a lot after piercing it? Kinda feels like a headache on the side
I had these awfull migraines. Allmost at the point that i can’t work anymore. Did my daithpiercing and had 2 minor migraine attacks After 5 months... so for me.. it’s just perfect
From personal experience I used to get migraines 3 to 4 times every week constant pain nausea dizziness and more. Once I got my right ear pierce with a daith piercing I’ve only gotten a slight headache once a month. SoOo I do know for myself it does work. Just saying.
I know when I get mine should have a straight piece of jewelry to let it heal, but I probably will never wear the barbell after that, can I use a flat clicker instead?
Google says it's pronounced dayth, so I'm pronouncing it dayth. Doth sounds so dumb.
The person who created the piercing named it daith (doth) to sound like the hebrew word da’at so “doth” is correct
I really want one but I found my triple helix so painful that I’m not even sure I want to get pierced again lol... I’ll probably just stick to another tattoo
For me, the daith was a breeze! I found it less painful than any of my other piercings!
Hi
Can you use any cartilage or septum jewelry for this piercing
Can you wear earphones when it’s healed or does it irritate it??
You’ll be ok if it’s healed but still be cautious
@@Shopluluave ok thankyou :)
Still love mine, it has cut down on the migraine, it hasn't stopped them, but it has helped quite a bit. I couldn't really use earbuds before because the way my ears are shaped, so I'm not missing much. Lol
Is it because people put rings in too
early? Would a barbell have the same issue?
I flip the daith piercing jewellery ring outwards so I can fit an earbud in. Small price to pay for being migraine free :)
I got mine in December of 2019. Still today April 2021, still healing.
I got my left daith pierced about a week ago.... whoooo what a week it's been 😪
I am going through a lot rn. Full on pain on the left side of my head, constant stinging in and around my ear. At one point, my left jaw was also aching. And sometimes I can't turn my head too fast because it will feel like someone is pulling on that piercing.
Before anyone comes at me, it is my 9th piercing, I clean it 2x, sometimes 3x a day. In general, my piercings take 6 months to heal, I don't see this happening this time.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm having some regrets.... is it just me? 😔
What if you have blood or crust and you just have to clean it ??
With a qtip I mean
I love my daith. It bled a lot and took ages to stop. To the point my ear was blocked because of dried blood and it was gross. But it healed easily and I love it. Way too fiddly to change though.
I have had mine for slightly over a year and it still gets crusts, help meeeeee
And I haven’t changed it out yet because of that reason
Also, what should I do IF i were to get those bumps?
I had the daith piercing done mine healed in 6 months and I love it still haven’t gotten to change the jewelry haven’t had the time to but I love it and it wasn’t painful
We’re earbuds in mine don’t bug me when I wear it and mine don’t bug me either and don’t rub on it like it doesn’t it doesn’t do that I don’t know I just have a really big ears I guess
I just took my daith out because the bumbs got so bad and I didn’t really want to keep up with it. Im sad but it’s probably best since I couldn’t really keep up. It would get bumbs all the time and bleed even after 10 months of having it. I did everything at first but they still came and then I just gave up. I think its because I slept on it at night when I didn’t know and that irritated it constantly
