The glasses advice is so good - just got two piercings yesterday and didn't even think about the glasses! And yes, the arm of my glasses is touching the back of my piercings :( Now I'm off to the eye doctor to see about some contact lenses. You could add a #6 - behind the ear COVID masks.
I just have quadruple(4) pierced earlobes, which are all healed nicely. My piercer has advised me NOT to get anymore ear piercings so I'm taking his advice. My lobe piercings are pretty low maintenance for me. I sleep on a travel pillow every night so there's no pressure on my piercings. GREAT ADVICE, Johnny!!
It has become my daily thing this past week to watch your videos while cleaning my recent conch. I already had a neck pillow but didn't think of the using it during the slepy time gonna try it

I have an industrial and I wear glasses... when it was healing, it was such a pain... It got super swollen. So I actually tolerated for like 2 months till I couldnt take it and switched to a short stainless steel ear stick (thats of 2 -3 cm in length and of course 14g. ) i also slept with the travel pillow with my ear in the center. I cleaned the piercing with the proper solution and used tea tree oil for the swelling, but it didnt really work. So i used a rub called voltaren...(not sure if its avail in other countries... cos i live in Singapore....) and it worked... the swelling went down, the pain went away and it healed up nicely. Of course with that said, there is the worry of the piercing healing wonky. But It worked well for me. It isn't wonky and i switch out the sticks for a proper bar whenever I go out and it hasnt given me any problems. Its been about 2 years now.
I have a bump on my piercing that on hurts when I touch it. My piercer told me it’s not a keloid but not sure if it’s a healing bump or what not. FYI, I had the piercing for about 3 months now on my earlobe. It’s not a very smooth bump with no pus in it. I had to change it once which was after 11 weeks after I had the piercing.
Its probably hypergranulation. (I ain't a piercer so take this with a grain of salt) you'll know if it bleeds or excretes fluid when you prod it with a q tip while cleaning.
@@kthv9678 i think it’s infected but you can take it out and clean it real fast and put a little string inside tie it but not too tight and clean it every day and clean the ear
FLAT BACKS FOR THE WIN!! I got my helix and conch at the same time and got them done with ordinary barbels (the ones you would use for nipples etc.) And my hair would get wrapped around it and get pulled easy. I got flat backs and changed them out to flat backs about 2 months in (i know i shouldnt have but they were being really sucky and i was frustrated af) and i havent looked back since. Be careful also of hair products, sprays and perfumes you are using because if they contain nasties like alcohol they can dry out your piercings and thats not a fun time ✌❤ Love you guys, from ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you somuch for the information..now i have nine..right side 5 in the left side 4..still pain.I need to be careful everytime i change clothes..one time the blood came out also but now ok..
Touching them, I got my nose pierced and it healed great and super quick because I left it alone. Then again I was forty, I did get a small keloid and used lavender essential oil, worked a treat. I know everyone recommends tea tree but I prefer lavender because it's much gentler and it doesn't smell like toilet cleaner! I'm dying to get some ear piercings but I don't know what kind of stacked to go for or how far up my ear. I don't want to spend money on say an industrial and have to take it out because my hair keeps catching on it. That's actually the only tip you didn't include, how to help your piercing heal if you have long hair. Any tips are appreciated xx

I’m thinking abt getting my ears pierced this summer, but I’m kinda nervous about getting it. I want to get the needle bc all my friends say it’s better, but all my family say I should get g*n like them. I’m also nervous bc of my sisters experience. *TW* She woke up one morning and her earring was fully inside her ear - like the skin covered it up, and she had to go to the hospital to get it pulled out the back and then she got it re- pierced. I also heard you can’t swim after getting them done which is bad bc I’m going to an island in the first few weeks, and I have a pool there too and don’t want to sit and watch my family. Does anyone have tips pls?
I got 4 piercings today with a needle, and to be honest it doesn't hurt at all. It just feels weird. But if you want one you should just go for it. And yes, when it's healing you can't go into pools or anything so just do it when you think is right. And be sure to know what type of earring you will want with your piercing because you'll have it for a good amount of months. And just know how to take care of it and you'll be good!
Wow! I just got my second ear peircing a month ago and I changed it and it got infected! Now I know why, I’m not gonna change for a while now lol! (Infection is gone)
I had to switch my cartilage earring out because the back fell off and I lost it. It now has a bump on the back ;; How can I help the bump out? And how long until I can switch my piercing out properly for it?
Im not a piercer but from experience that bump will eventually go away if you keep cleaning it. If it doesn't go away after months go back to your piercer. Hope this helps.
I sleep on my piercing ( accidentally ) I touch n play with my piercing AND changed them thrice 3 days after I pierced them.. I’m definitely not proud but so far I’ve only gotten a semi swollen ear (barely swollen) and a few aches.. (ALSO SOME NATURAL BLEEDING)
Wish I should've seen this earlier before when I have my piercing, now here I am searching for what to do with this, it began bleeding while I was sleeping with my head on the side (sigh pretty mistake) then what I did was get the jewellery off from the bleeding hole and put some cold pressure on it then after that when I did some research online I put some warm pressure on it, and I was like bruh what to do? I'm new to this stuff and thought it was fine with just the piercing done I didn't think it would bleed like this, "what to do when it's bleeding" and everything to take care of it.
It's my first night... I don't have a travel pillow... I'M WAY TOO SCARED TO SLEEEEEPPP. I did not think this through... I'm scared I'm gonna turn in my sleep anyways...........
I did all that and my ear is black like dark black and it hurts and I keep picking at it. And when I was much younger my mom would do my hair and my earring gets stuck in my hair and my mom doesn't care about it she doesn't know she is hurting my ear.!
I missed the date to check it out and it was way past and the piercing didn't have any problems so I just decided to change it and it was fine (this was like a month ago) but I just tried to change them again and I seem to only have a problem with my right ear and I can't line up the jewelry correctly and keep making it bleed. Idk what to do 🙃
I got mine pierced 3 months ago. They always get irritated and red, sometimes swell when I clean. I waited the 2 months before changing them out like my piercer said. I take them out every other day to clean but putting back in sometimes hurts and causes swelling. Should I not take them out and just clean around the area for a year?
I have a bump similar to the picture at 3:15, but it’s on my second lobe.. does tea tree oil help make it go away? Or should i just wash it with soap + water?
do not use tea tree oil very outdated advice. just clean it with wound wash or water in the shower and make sure your jewelry is implant grade titanium
It works wonders! It healed my industrial so good. Just be sure to dilute it with another oil (calendula oil is a good choice), because it can be very irritating to your skin. And rinse it off 15~ minutes later.
so this might not be answered, but i have a question, its been a month since i got one lobe piercing on each side, and except for some minor bleeding and swelling, everything seems fine, but i think i should switch to sleeper earrings at this point, but havent seen much advice on this. The advice online has been to not switch piercings out before 6-12 months, so i want some advice
1. My ear lobes have not swollen. They are now 1 months old. I thought would hurt getting my ears pierced from a tattoo shop but I was wrong. It didn't hurt at all and I'll go back to because I did not get an infection like the other time and I went to the mall to get them pierced. The first 10 days after my ear piercing I slept on a towel and I folded it to wear my ear was not touching the towel. I was very careful.
I just did my second lobe piercings ( yes I did them at home so might be another cause lol) and I do everything on this list and wonder why my ear hurts like heck
My helix was my experiment cartilage piercing. I got it done w a gun. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide for the first 6 months. I wasn't as strict on myself to clean it. Anyways, I'm planning on going to a professional and getting a conch when quarantine is over! I can't wait to do this one right lol
I had changed my newly pierced ear lobe piercings after 4 weeks and the left side of my ear lobe started bleeding after I got off the old one. Should I wait for another 4-6 weeks before taking it off?
I try my best with to not make these mistakes. I may change my jewelry out since I haven't changed out 2 of my studs since May and I need to get my other 3 downsized this week
omg im literally crying so much right now my ear is all red and i cant take it off my ear is growing and its getting worse i dont know what to do its midnight and earing is so thigh i feel like my ear is gonna grow around it im in so much pain
I have a upper lobe piercing and it hurt I clean it with sea salt and warm water but I might have changed it to early I also sleep on it because I lost my travel pillow could be why it hurts? And is there a way to stop or help the pain go away?
Amazed I haven't gotten my piercings infected I touch them all the time I sleep on them and just cleaned them today after I got them almost 3 weeks ago
I have both my daiths done.and fir some reason the color casting on the jewelry is coming off. I've had them about 7 months and some times they feel great but others they are irritated. Amy tips
Do you mean that we can't change our piercings like we do to our earings(like changing them everyday)? I'm freakin out! Can you even take the piercing out after it is done or is it permanent? And for changing it do you need a professional help? OMG plz answer or else I'll drop my idea of getting my ear piercing done😭😭😭😭😭
I've always had a piercing and I just recently started wearing earrings again, and under my piercing there is this tiny purple spot like a bruise or something but it doesn't hurt! can someone tell me what it is and if it's dangerous?
So i got some helix and lobe piercings 4-5 days ago and they hurt so bad when I'm cleaning them ( i use salt water boiled and freezed before used and betadine) and they just feel like burning while doing it. Nothing else besides that
He sacrafised the steps for us and I'm quite happy at least i get an idea , i wanna wear piercing and my ears closed but.... At the same time now i wanna wear ear piercing but I'm nervous 😭...
I have too sleep on my right side, if I sleep on my back I roll onto my left side where my helix is which gets swollen and sore, but with my right ear none of those piercings get swollen or sore when I sleep on them, they’re all also going very well, I’ve put L shaped bars in them so when I sleep on them they don’t have a backing digging into them causing pressure bumps, so yeah, I’ve also had them for ages now
I'm a light sleeper, had no trouble with my tragus or helix's. The one I played with the most was my tongue piercing. But took it out when I was 26 🤬due to someone. I'd like it again but dunno how the healing would be
I have had my lobe piercings done for about 5 months. My right ear is good and has healed well, but my left ear always tends to randomly swell up, get itchy, sometimes bleed a little bit. It gets sore for some time then goes back to normal. It randomly will flare up like that, it doesn’t look infected or appear red at all but is it possible it may be? I take good care of them I just don’t know what could be wrong with the one side considering my right lobe is just fine
I got my helix done yesterday on one ear, i'm planning on getting the other ear done after the first one is a lil healed.....however, my piercing is fresh and the jewellery keeps getting caught in my hair, it doesn't hurt unless i pull it but i'm afraid it'll cause an infection. I've tried tying my hair up in a bun or pony, wearing a headband but the baby hair still keep getting caught. It doesn't cause major pain but is there any way i can prevent an infection with my hair in my piercing?
I got my Helix and Triple Lobe piercing today, and i literally cannot Sleep for now, coz the piercings that i got are at both sides, and as i said i got them today (at same time), at right and left, and it's just so painful sleeping.
Yesterday I hit into my flat piercing and it bled, I only had it for less than 10 days. I felt like I was going to faint. I washed it and put on the cleanser my piercer gave me. Today I feel fine and it barley hurts.
Dang....I got my industrial piercing in July , the bumps started developing like in October and I still got em but I'm taking my time using this tea tree oil once a day btw 1 of the bumps keep bursting everytime. When it's healed it kindah looks like it gets smaller...oh I started using tea tree oil in November....n I clean my piercing like 1x a day.....my double helix is health and my daith is health I guess; I got both in the first week of October. The (2x) helix does not have any bumps but the daith developed bumps but they are small rn thanks to the tree tea oil....oh I got a lump on my 3rd gateway piercing I think it was cause of an irritation cause by an earring that I wore....ion know what 2 do😭😭

The glasses advice is so good - just got two piercings yesterday and didn't even think about the glasses! And yes, the arm of my glasses is touching the back of my piercings :( Now I'm off to the eye doctor to see about some contact lenses. You could add a #6 - behind the ear COVID masks.
i just got my rook pierced yesterday and it’s the first cartilage piercing i’ve ever had... this helped me a lot
The acting 🤣
I love love love the editing in this video!!
I took my earring off prematurely and now my ear is swollen... What should I do?
Go see a doctor ASAP and have them take a look
Thing #2 had me feeling personally attacked....because I was touching my piercing as he said it😆😂👀
I just have quadruple(4) pierced earlobes, which are all healed nicely. My piercer has advised me NOT to get anymore ear piercings so I'm taking his advice. My lobe piercings are pretty low maintenance for me. I sleep on a travel pillow every night so there's no pressure on my piercings. GREAT ADVICE, Johnny!!
Is it really that bad to sleep on them?
@@Unveranosinmi irk i got my first ever lobe piercing and these comments are giving me anxiety!
It has become my daily thing this past week to watch your videos while cleaning my recent conch. I already had a neck pillow but didn't think of the using it during the slepy time gonna try it
Anybody here thinking
“why didn't i watched this earlier"!!
And have a infection on your ear right now?
Edit : mine is Good now ❤️
me lmao
I just peirced my my ears, it’s a basic earlobe one but I don’t know how to know if there infected but there like crust around them...
@@lexhope876 Don't let it be wet or watery, Regularly wash the part Of your piercing with cotton and warm water , do it for a week or 3-4 days it'll be good.
Is it the rub used for joint inflammation?
All this is what I am doing with my first Piercing specially on the ear!
Thank you so much!
1:53 i'm dying at how dramatic his acting is
I have a bump on my piercing that on hurts when I touch it.
Do not use tea tree oil. Leave it alone and make sure it’s implant grade titanium
No wonder why my piercings are so swollen😭
wait did they get infected? cause mine are swollen rn
@@juanmarquez8213 I don’t think so I just have rlly sensitive skin
Fr mine is swollen and hurts
What do we need to do if it gets swollen? Should I take this fcking off? Damn it hurts
@@kthv9678 i think it’s infected but you can take it out and clean it real fast and put a little string inside tie it but not too tight and clean it every day and clean the ear
i cant ask my piercer bc i pierced my ears lmao 💔💔💔
FLAT BACKS FOR THE WIN!! I got my helix and conch at the same time and got them done with ordinary barbels (the ones you would use for nipples etc.) And my hair would get wrapped around it and get pulled easy. I got flat backs and changed them out to flat backs about 2 months in (i know i shouldnt have but they were being really sucky and i was frustrated af) and i havent looked back since.
Be careful also of hair products, sprays and perfumes you are using because if they contain nasties like alcohol they can dry out your piercings and thats not a fun time ✌❤
Love you guys, from ireland 🇮🇪
When you said no fighting I genuinely wheezed, I practice martial arts nearly everyday lmao
Thank you somuch for the information..now i have nine..right side 5 in the left side 4..still pain.I need to be careful everytime i change clothes..one time the blood came out also but now ok..
i’m concerned, i got my ears pierced yesterday & should i start turning it? or wait a week?
Is this regarding new piercings? Or like even year old piercings? Bec I have a year old piercing that won't heal properly
look I've had my ear piercings since august and every time i change them they bleed a little. (they don't hurt ) Also right now my left piercing hurts me a little (very little) and itches me is there something i can do change my piercings or something please respond (I'm a little worried)
how long are u not aloud to sleep on the ear side as i do it all the time its been a year .
I’m thinking abt getting my ears pierced this summer, but I’m kinda nervous about getting it. I want to get the needle bc all my friends say it’s better, but all my family say I should get g*n like them. I’m also nervous bc of my sisters experience.
*TW*
She woke up one morning and her earring was fully inside her ear - like the skin covered it up, and she had to go to the hospital to get it pulled out the back and then she got it re- pierced.
I sleep on my piercing ( accidentally )
I touch n play with my piercing
AND changed them thrice 3 days after I pierced them..
Can you guys make video on how to clean your piercings properly?:) Thank you..
It's my first night... I don't have a travel pillow... I'M WAY TOO SCARED TO SLEEEEEPPP. I did not think this through... I'm scared I'm gonna turn in my sleep anyways...........
Welp, doing karate isn't that good for my piercings after all I guess
Hey Army!!!
Borahae.
Or should i just wash it with soap + water?
ma tea tree oil does help! Give it a try. It made mine shrink a bit.
Kira Snow thank you! :)
do not use tea tree oil very outdated advice. just clean it with wound wash or water in the shower and make sure your jewelry is implant grade titanium
Isabella The Great it worked for me honestly but it might not be for everyone
It works wonders! It healed my industrial so good. Just be sure to dilute it with another oil (calendula oil is a good choice), because it can be very irritating to your skin. And rinse it off 15~ minutes later.
I just got my ears pierced and I think is to tight 🙃 it is normal??
so this might not be answered, but i have a question, its been a month since i got one lobe piercing on each side, and except for some minor bleeding and swelling, everything seems fine, but i think i should switch to sleeper earrings at this point, but havent seen much advice on this. The advice online has been to not switch piercings out before 6-12 months, so i want some advice
I did some of these my ear pericing came off with thin 4 weeks after getting it the back closed up anyway I could fix it?
I took my piercing out after nine months but the back of my ear had like peeling skin and it was weird??
About changing an ear piercing, what if Your allergic to the metal, what do you do?
I have to wear a headset for school, and i found that some ducktape and rolled up socks make a nice void for my piercings to be comfortable in :)
i just got my ears pierced today! should i clean it as soon as i get home?
My helix was my experiment cartilage piercing. I got it done w a gun. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide for the first 6 months. I wasn't as strict on myself to clean it.
Anyways, I'm planning on going to a professional and getting a conch when quarantine is over! I can't wait to do this one right lol
And never use hydrogen peroxide on any piercing.
I had this issue and took the backs off and just left the earring in and it sort of let it breath and the swelling went down
I have a upper lobe piercing and it hurt I clean it with sea salt and warm water but I might have changed it to early I also sleep on it because I lost my travel pillow could be why it hurts? And is there a way to stop or help the pain go away?
I recommend 5 and 1/2 Weeks six to be safe for non cartilage piercings
I got a cartilage bump I'm tryna heal it's repeirced it's probably scar tissue but is that what you mean by messed up ears
Amy tips
Whats your opinion on turning freshly pierced earrings. Is it necessary?
Is it bad to sleep over the piercing even after it's healed?
Do you mean that we can't change our piercings like we do to our earings(like changing them everyday)?
I'm freakin out! Can you even take the piercing out after it is done or is it permanent? And for changing it do you need a professional help?
OMG plz answer or else I'll drop my idea of getting my ear piercing done😭😭😭😭😭
I've always had a piercing and I just recently started wearing earrings again, and under my piercing there is this tiny purple spot like a bruise or something but it doesn't hurt! can someone tell me what it is and if it's dangerous?
So I just got my ears pierced yesterday, but can I wear headphones while wearing studs?? Also I can’t take them out yet the lady said
So i got some helix and lobe piercings 4-5 days ago and they hurt so bad when I'm cleaning them ( i use salt water boiled and freezed before used and betadine) and they just feel like burning while doing it. Nothing else besides that
He sacrafised the steps for us and I'm quite happy at least i get an idea , i wanna wear piercing and my ears closed but.... At the same time now i wanna wear ear piercing but I'm nervous 😭...
That neck pillow idea is such a hack!
100%!!
I'd like it again but dunno how the healing would be
is sleeping on piercings bad too even if they're healed?
thissssssss I'm so scaed i got the pierced today..... and I'm getting anxiety thinking about sleeping
What if one of your new piercing's is too tight? Can it cause a major infection? A professional piercier did mine
*Every thing can be solved with LOVE*
The (2x) helix does not have any bumps but the daith developed bumps but they are small rn thanks to the tree tea oil....oh I got a lump on my 3rd gateway piercing I think it was cause of an irritation cause by an earring that I wore....ion know what 2 do😭😭
Is it ok to wash your ears when you get your new piercings or you not allowed to get it wet?
