Oh no your white bread sandwich was too thick....they would be wafer thin ...the cucumber would be pealed too. It is said you could eat them with out opening your mouth. She is typical of her generation..my mother would eat seasonally.. The main meal on Sunday is lunch time so staff get the afternoon off. Sunday tea is often sandwiches...cold meats etc..and cake..mostly would be self serve so staff are not required. Years ago (1970s)it was written the Queen had dieted ..and done so cutting carbs...she was ahead of her time there.
Well the things about onions and garlic is there basically anti everything, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and a whole bunch of other things, theres a compounds in both of them i forget the name of but there the healthy foods nobody talks about.
I know she was just leaving that Mc Donald’s. 😆 My nonna lived to 110 she drank beer every day. I worked at a private beach club in the Hamptons and yeah they didn’t cook with onions or garlic. The sacrilege. Old money stays far away from them come to find out. When they socialize I guess.
Your nonna probably was born in another country to have lived that long as new York food (until recently) was chick full of chemicals and processed to death!!
My grandma was big on Special K. They used to advertise it as Corn Flakes for ladies, as it was considered a "feminine" cereal. (Maybe because of the dainty flakes?) On another note, love your Royal Albert milk jug!
I admire Her Majesty, during her younger days, she served the army by being a backup team repairing machines and driving wounded soldiers to be hospitalized. After the war ended, she's very savvy on her daily spending. That's very rare for an aristocrate
I didn’t know you lived in Victoria! That’s the only place in Canada I’ve ever been, and I loved it. It’s so beautiful. I even had a drink at the Empress hotel you mentioned; it was lovely. So cool!
The way you plated the dishes you discussed was really appetizing. I confess I'm so hungry now. Also, I love how the Queen's diet is so sensible. It really is something we could all follow (for the most part).
The Queen is still vibrant and a lovely lady. As you say, her diet does work for her and it seems very healthy, protein and veggies, very little starch, low sugar, etc
@@Laurajaneatelier , I have the recipe somewhere from her personal chef. It's rich Tea biscuits. It's not baked at all. just all ingredients mixed together and set in a fridge. You should find it online somewhere. Also "Secrets of the Royal Kitchen" youtube. Enjoy your videos. Thank you.
I am a island girl too uvic baby i lived on the gorge during college days and you definitely should do a craigdarroch video Joan’s daughters how the rich lived in 1900 Anyway it’s nice to have a fellow islander to watch
I’m actually related to her, Princess Diana, and Marie Antoinette. It’s amazing to think that somewhere down the line we have a ancestor in common. We have some of the same DNA. My great grandparents moved to the USA in the early 1900s. 💕
Very much enjoy you videos. I like this peak into the Queen's diet. My parents, who are now deceased but were also from her era, only liked meat well done. I wonder if it has something to do with that generation? My favorite breakfast cerial is Capt'n Crunch. But, I use it as a special, occasional treat since it is so sugary. One that I do eat on a more regular basis is Cinnamon Life or Multigrain Cherrios. I don't drink a lot of hot tea, but Twinings Earl Grey is my favorite. I do like mine sweetened (Whole Earth Sweetener) and with milk. I believe I had heard somewhere before about the Queen's biscuit cake with a recipe. I like to bake, but I am not crazy about bittersweet chocolate, so I decided not to try it. Lastly, IMO the Queen probably is wise not to overindulge, but I bet her longevity has much more to do with her genes than her diet. Her mother lived to be over 100. And, I observed with my parents and now myself that the older you get the more you like to stick with the food you are familiar with instead of a bunch of new things.
I love the way you try these foods. Marilyn Monroe's morning warm milk with eggs episode was hilarious! You made me laugh! Love you girl. Keep these vids coming. I'm addicted and am setting my room up with vintage things and dusty pink vintage looking curtains, a bedroom chair that I got for FREE. I just got a vintage down filled bedspread in dusty pink! I wish my house was bigger!!!
I really enjoy your videos thank you for taking the time to make them. I am English and hate cereal! I like marmalade on toast for breakfast with lots of butter!
Most typically, I don't eat cereal, but I'll have a smoothie with some juice, banana, superfood berry (which one varies) powder, and protein powder in it, and then either half a bagel with cream cheese, or half a bagel/one waffle with a fried egg. Usually something sweet, too. Lately it's been Trader Joe's peanut butter and chocolate cups.

Thank You Laura for having the Queen👏👏👑☕I have followed the Queen my whole life!! She is so amazing!! 💟👑🌷I believe the Queen and Prince Philip went through ALOT to adjust to their life when they were young. I am surprised at her diet...kind of like our diets!! I eat Special K and the same way she eats too! I would love love to meet the Queen and wouldn't it be a moment to have high tea with HRH! ☕☕💟👑 👍👏👏👏👏👏🌻
I love all your videos. I really enjoyed this one with our Queen. Ha ha I eat my banana like a monkey, I don't mine to be sliced. Guess I'm not a Royal, eh?!! I also love the bread crust - that's the best part. Guess I'll eat more Special K too!!
Very interesting, Laura! Surprisingly, there are a lot of foods that are the same and similar to the way my Mom used to eat, and I do too- Special K, tea, tuna sandwiches (but with the crust, but I sure would love to try that biscuit 🍰 cake! I also dislike undercooked or bloody meat...and maybe slicing bananas might be worth a try! Great video! ☺️💕
The next hair to the throne? Don't you mean that she was then within a hair's breadth of the throne as soon as she became heir? And Seelyon? Is that anywhere near Ceylon? Doesn't seem to be on my map --
The Commonwealth consists of 54 countries, fyi. I've never seen a sandwich displayed as such. Furthermore, she LOVES cake and takes a piece along with her everyday on her outings. How cute is that?! Reminds me of my Grammy.

Well Queen Elizabeth, is fortunate, she's able to eat her own meat , raised at her Castle Balmoral, and fruit & veggies raised on her property, so she nixed the pesticides, we I. The US have to eat....
Seems like she eats lots of sweets and alcohol. Champagne every day? Shot of gin daily? Etc. Wow! How ever does she ride her horse without falling off of it! Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤪

Wow, born in 1926, the same year as Marilyn!
We all know
And millions of other people 😅
My favorite food is pizza with coke ( not that anyone's interested)
I also enjoy pizza and coca-cola LOL
Lol same except I'd have Diet Coke
Me too!
I also love pizza with vanilla coke
What kind of pizza? What kind of coke? I want to compare. Lol

She's 94, not 100, let's not rush things! LOL. I've be rewatching "The Crown" on Netflix. What a fascinating personage the Queen is!
My husband and I also are fans of “The Crown”- very interesting and well done!
94...100..:Same difference 😂😂
Cathy S Her mom lived to be 100 so she will get there😉
Did you guys watcy the epsiode where she drinks the kids blood ?
@@vmslnx where is that‼️
To me, onions and garlic are staples! I find salmon and eggs to be the “smelly foods”. Longevity runs in the family.. little to do with what she eats.
Well the things about onions and garlic is there basically anti everything, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and a whole bunch of other things, theres a compounds in both of them i forget the name of but there the healthy foods nobody talks about.

It’s still kind of advertised as that lol
It is so cool that you got to see the Queen! I am a big admirer of her! This was such a great video!
Thanks so much Kate!

There's a middle eastern restaurant in my town that serves chocolate biscuit cake, I wonder if it's a colonial era tradition.

I think the correct form of address for the Queen is "Her Majesty." "Her Highness is for princesses.
Exactly

Great video! I love the queen. She is a very elegant, intelligent, lady deserving the utmost respect. 🌹
Love this channel! Thank-you!
Cool & informative video! Love the fact that Her Majesty enjoys mostly modest foods. Am also a fan of Special K cereal and Twinings Earl Grey tea.
Love this video. Here's a suggestion, can you do a video on the famous biscuit cake?
The sad thing is we all get GMO foods now...but royals get normal fresh unchemical foods...
Well She is doing something right. Very interesting
Thank you Laura Jane. It was very informative, well presented and most interesting. Well done, for your outstanding post. 🇦🇺
I eat scrambled eggs and smoked salmon whenever I have smoked salmon in the house! Just had some yesterday. Yum!
The most enthusiastic you have been about the person featured in your vid which, made it even more enjoyable to watch 🙂

Doris Hodge maybe because they gone through the world war era. During and after war, hygiene is very important and avoid uncook meat
Bovine TB was a big thing so you wanted your meat well done.
So interesting. So funny because as i put this video on i poured a bowl of Special K. My favorite cereal as well. Thank you. Well presented.
I don't know why but it's so surprising that the queen eats Special K for breakfast, who would have know, right? Great job as always Laura...
