I have found that growing them at home is easy and fun. While the fruit is smaller that what you would get in the store, the advantage is you can wait for the pineapple to get totally yellow/orange on the plant. At that stage, it is sweet as candy and even the core which you removed is sweet, soft and edible.

    Thank you for your tips!
Here’s a tip for you coming from a guy that was a grocery store meat cutter a long time ago.
Never cut toward yourself! That is how so many knife accidents occur!
    Best of luck to you!

Hi Jag I always pick my pineapples the way you do because sometimes the person at the grocery or market would show me a green pineapple and I would know it’s not ripe because there’s no smell I love pineapple every week I go to the market I would buy my pineapple to you and your family enjoy your weekend and stay safe bye.

I love the core. It's full of fibre and, if the pineapple is ripe it will still be quite sweet.
Then you plant the tops and wait 7 years for it to slice you and your animals open every time you walk by.

Me too. I still try to pick the best one but the grocery store always has them green. It's best to wait a few days and keep an eye on them.

Thank you so much for this video. Question to you is should a pineapple be left out or can it be put inside the refrigerator? I ask because I like my fruit cold, but I heard that some fruits should not be put inside the refrigerator is that also true and if so could you do a video on which fruit should not be refrigerated. Thanks

Great question, wish he answered. I love my fruit cold too. I cut mine then put it in a glass container then in refrigerator. I get my pineapple from the Farmer's Market, it being so fresh I think it's okay being in there plus we eat it up quick. Too delicious to have it wait.
      😋😋😋😋

@@michelledcarter me too. If you put in fridge will not ripen but will rot inside. That's what they fo at the supermarket that's why when youvtsje it home its rotten on the inside and when it appears to ripen by turning yellow on the outside but there's none of that swe smell

They’re cutting the tops off pineapples here. I don’t buy them with no top. Eat the core if you can, they have enzymes that target the spikes on spike proteins.

OMG, you've now made me sooo hungry for my favorite fruit, the almighty pineapple. Lol. You made it look so easy to cut it up but for me it takes more effort because I try not to waste too much of it so I cut the skin thinner avoiding the "eyes" . I guess I'll have to get a sharper knife. Love what you do and how you do. That was a perfect selection, dont get that much in stores. They pick it too soon and freeze it so we get bad ones for the most part. Anyway thank you for this video. Btw I've missed you on here as well as your beautiful additions, chickens and ducks.

I can tell you that pineapple base on it color and when u cut it open it not fully sweet but it the better one out of the 4 I would take the 3rd one from the right side next to the one u pick. Next Tip don't pick a brown color pineapple it means it going bad. If your lucky u will find a orange color pineapple.

A good pineapple should smell like a good pineapple, just like a plum or tomato should have the smell of, yeah right.
Plums often disappoint me in the grocery store when I use my nose, so very few plums for me.

That pineapple is not yellow and not ripe I’m not buying it and I’m not allowing the Internet to lie to us anymore wanna know how to tell if a pineapple is ripe? It’s mostly if not all yellow throughout the whole fruit top to bottom it will be yellow not just on top of each fruit section with green patterns in the cracks if you see green all in cracks it’s not ripe and unripe fruit will ripen later but not by much but ya that’s how you’ll know it needs to look like this! 🍍not like what he has with all that green to find a ripe pineapple go to (1. A expensive fancy grocery store 2. Go to a foreign market like Asian ones Mexican ones Jamaican ones those kinds 3. Shop online 4. And if all else fails 5. move to a tropical state or country sorry but it’s the only way… unless you have some green house lol but yeah this isn’t ripe but you what is 🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍 this right here ^^^^^^^^^^^
Ps: once you eat a ripe pineapple you will never be same nor will you ever be able to eat an unripe pineapple again and when you do eat a ripe pineapple it will taste like candy or a better

you can also use the skin and the core to make a mildly alcoholic pineapple "beer". Just put the scraps in a large bowl and cover with water, then saran wrap and leave on the counter for about a week until it ferments. Strain out the scraps and refrigerate to stop the fermentation. Enjoy!
