"I believe you can shift the atmospheres..." NOPE. Let me stop you right there with that nonsense.

I’m curious as to why you think that?

@@Eli.Diaz201 Because that's New Age mumbo-jumbo popularized by the New Apostolic Reformation. It means nothing, except for unscriptural weirdness designed by men.

@@Eli.Diaz201because it’s sensationalist and abstract language that gets thrown around in contemporary churches without people really explaining what they’re talking about. In this case it sends the wrong message to new musicians, and could confuse the actual goal behind what they are doing.
There is no mention of “the atmosphere” anywhere in the Bible when talking about worship.
Telling a new guitarist that they can shift the atmosphere with their guitar playing… is concerning. And contradictory to everything else he says about it not being for self focused reasons.
Obviously a phrase like that is referring to setting a mood with music that helps people be comfortable as they enter into worshipping the Lord. Which I have no issue with.
The Bible shows us that it’s the Holy Spirit that “shifts the atmosphere” in times of prayer and worship, not the things that the people worshiping do or say.
“*After* this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.” - Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭31‬
      Just one example.
Using buzz word/sensationalist terminology like that can confuse and mislead people. It can sound like nonsense.
I’ve been a lead guitar player and worship leader for about 12ish years now. My only intention when I play my guitar during a service - is to worship God with my whole heart and with the musical gifts he gave me. I’m not going on stage thinking “I really hope I can shift the atmosphere with these ambient chords and melodies”. What happens in the room is between God and his people.
“Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.” Psalms‬ ‭33‬:‭1‬-‭5‬

@@Eli.Diaz201i replied to you giving you an answer and cited some Bible verses as well… but it looks like the video guy deleted it. That’s extra concerning
